2016-08-07 Thread Petter Reinholdtsen
[Sebastian Ramacher]
> And what did you expect to happen when the Description contains "Note

I guess I expected some understandable error message letting me know
what the problem was, for example listing which OpenGL version I had and
which version I needed, given that I do not really know OpenGL version I
got. :)

I would have been helped a lot by a message reporting for example this:

Unable to run OBS because it need OpenGL version 3.2 and you only got
  OpenGL version X.Y.

You might need different video hardware for this to work.

or something like that.

I did not expect a popup stating 'Failed to initialize video:
Unspecified error'. That message is not really explaining much, and do
not really provide any hint about what is the problem.

Hi,

During a rebuild of all packages in sid using the gcc-defaults package
available in experimental to make GCC default to version 6, your package failed
to build on amd64. For more information about GCC 6 and Stretch, see:

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from
'testing'.
It installed fine in 'testing', then the upgrade to 'sid' fails
because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a
Breaks+Replaces relation.

See policy 7.6 at
https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-relationships.html#s-replaces

Mesa (and libGL in general) is a special library which is allowed to
remove certain functions without breaking the ABI because all users of
those functions are expected to look them up using dlsym and gracefully
handle any errors. As far as I can tell, it was mostly obsolete
extension functions that were removed in mesa-11.

I'm not sure the above question has anything to do with libva and I
couldn't find any Ubuntu backports of libva when I tried searching.
