Bug#876915: Updating the ois Uploaders list

2017-09-26 Thread Tobias Frost
Source: ois
Version: 1.3.0+dfsg0-6
Severity: minor
User: m...@qa.debian.org
Usertags: mia-teammaint

Federico Di Gregorio has not been working on
the ois package for quite some time.

We are tracking their status in the MIA team and would like to ask you
to remove them from the Uploaders list of the package so we can close
that part of the file.

(If the person is listed as Maintainer, what we are asking is to please
step in as a new maintainer.)

Thanks.

Bug#876876: kodi-bin: kodi does not work on arm64 - "Failed to find matching visual" in kodi.log

2017-09-26 Thread Rafal
Package: kodi-bin
Version: 2:17.1+dfsg1-3
Severity: important
Tags: patch

The kodi starts but does not display anything. No window appears,
nothing happens.

I have made some investigations. In kodi.log there is an error
"Failed to find matching visual". This error is printed by
CWinSystemX11::SetWindow function located in file
xbmc/windowing/X11/WinSystemX11.cpp. The error is printed because
CGLContextEGL::GetVisual() returns NULL. This function returns NULL
because bad VisualID is passed to XGetVisualInfo function. This id is
obtained from eglGetConfigAttrib but the function is invoked in wrong
way.

Size of VisualID type on arm64 platform equals 8. But eglGetConfigAttrib
function stores VisualID in 4-byte variable. It means, 4 bytes of the
VisualID variable are left uninitialized. I have set to 0 the visualid
variable before eglGetConfigAttrib call and kodi started successfully.

Of course, set to 0 works on arm64 because arm64 is little-endian. I
think some additional variable should be used here.

Package:  mpg123
Version:  1.23.8-1+b1
Severity: wishlist

After upgrading to the version in Stretch, mpg123(1) appears to
make the terminal cursor invisible by issuing a ‘civis’ (as in:
$ tput civis) control sequence to a tty, which goes against my
preferences.

Moreover, mpg123(1) does not seem to consult Terminfo for the
terminal-specific sequence, probably using a hardcoded one
instead – which prevents an obvious workaround from working:

$ TERM=dumb mpg123 -- audio.mp3
(Cursor becomes invisible even though Terminfo lists no civis
sequence for TERM=dumb, per $ infocmp -- dumb.)

The --no-control option has no effect on this behavior, either.

A workaround that does work is to pipe mpg123(1) standard output
and error devices via cat(1), like:

$ mpg123 -- audio.mp3 2>&1 | cat

Package:  mpg123
Version:  1.23.8-1+b1

It appears that mpg123(1) fails to notice the :PORT suffix when
parsing an http_proxy value that contains an IPv6 address.

Consider, e. g.:

$ http_proxy=http://\[::1\]:8080/ \
  strace -o "$(mktemp -- /tmp/strace.)" -- \
  mpg123 --test -- http://stream.chipbit.net:8000/autodj.m3u
High Performance MPEG 1.0/2.0/2.5 Audio Player for Layers 1, 2 and 3
version 1.23.8; written and copyright by Michael Hipp and others
free software (LGPL) without any warranty but with best wishes
HTTP request failed: 404 Not Found
main: [src/mpg123.c:709] error: Access to http resource
http://stream.chipbit.net:8000/autodj.m3u failed.
$

The strace(1) output reveals that mpg123(1) tries to connect to
the default HTTP port (80), not the one specified (8080):

connect(3, {sa_family=AF_INET6, sin6_port=htons(80), inet_pton(AF_INET6, "::1",
&sin6_addr), sin6_flowinfo=htonl(0), sin6_scope_id=0}, 28) = 0

Also to note is that using an (IPv6-only) name (as shown below)
in place of the IPv6 address does not cause the issue.

$ http_proxy=http://ip6-localhost:8080/ \
  mpg123 --test -- http://stream.chipbit.net:8000/autodj.m3u

I hope that helps, let me know if things need to be improved.

Actually the problem that VLSub hangs as described in #847559 is caused
by using the old plugin version that is currently in vlc-plugin-base.

The version in vlc-plugin-vlsub contains actual version that works ok. I
am currently using it I just need to be careful to run the right plugin.

Any way if you decide to keep VLSub as part of vlc-plugin-base shouldn't
vlc-plugin-vlsub be canceled/removed?

Thanks,

Tomas

I guess so. I think the current vlc-plugin-vlsub is also unusable. It is
affected by #847559.

OK, thanks.

On the latest master then:
* I refreshed patches (because "gbp -S" failing complaining about fuzzy patches)
* Build failed on gcc 7 due to an ICE while compiling some part of supernova
* I'm running a gcc 6 build today, I'll let you know if it completes.

The reason for the dependency is that in the older boost I was using
last week (1.58?) there was a straightforward build failure because a
boost function's arguments have changed across versions. So there
should be SOME version bump in the dependency but I don't know what
the minimum is. I went for 1.63 because it matches the bundled SC
version and was available.

This has now taken a lot of my time and I'm afraid I cannot do much
more (work commitments). If I had time I could trace that dependency
issue, report the ICE, test that SC runs...! But I must stop, sorry.
