RFS: chromaprint 1.2-1

2014-09-28 Thread Simon Chopin
Hi,

I'd love it if someone (Reinhard ?) would upload the new version of
chromaprint sitting in the eponymous pkg-multimedia git repo. As usual,
I haven't updated the changelog in case there are still some changes
needed.

Cheers,
Simon

looking at the changes in cmakelists.txt, it seems that the
SOVERSION_REVISION bumped from 2 to 3. Does that mean that we have a
 SONAME bump here?

No, this field is basically the patch version. It gets bump at each
release, and doesn't impact the major SOVERSION. I have no idea why is
this system so convoluted, but hey...

BTW, upstream and pristine-tar branches pushed.

Cheers,
Simon

Bug#762014: XBMC fails to download any files (\ERROR: CCurlFile::FillBuffer - Failed:, Timeout was reached\)

2014-09-20 Thread Simon Chopin
OK, it seems I've been a bit too litteral on this. I only downgraded libcurl3
and not the -nss nor -gnutls versions. Once I also pinned those, it started
working again. Many thanks to Joe for pointing that out to me.

Bug#762014: XBMC fails to download any files (ERROR: CCurlFile::FillBuffer - Failed:, Timeout was reached)

2014-09-18 Thread Simon Chopin
I experience the same bug. I have tried downgrading, but it didn't help.

 Hello again,

after downgrading libcurl3-gnutls to version 7.37.1-1, everything works
as expected again. I guess the problem lies either within xbmc's usage
of libcurl or within libcurl, so I am leaving the bug as is for now.

 Thanks,
 Fabian

This is old news and absolutely not an issue with the package at hand -
the waf binary has already been replaced by waf-light.

Nice! Sorry for the unnecessary reminder then, the name waf
triggered an alarm in my brain.

Joining the team

2013-02-17 Thread Simon Chopin
Hello,

as it seems I've found a suitable home for my libchromaprint package in
the Debian Multimedia team, I guess it's only fair to introduce myself
and the package.

I'm a French CS student at the University of Rennes 1, and have been a
Debian user since the release of Lenny. I became a contributor about a
year ago by helping at packaging beets and its various dependencies,
mostly Python modules. I'm also maintaining a couple other Python
applications.

Libchromaprint is a library used by the Acoustid project to do audio
fingerprinting. It uses libav for the audio decoding, and is written in
C++ internally, albeit exposing a C interface. It is also, transitively,
a dependency of beets.

As you might have guessed, I'm not very familiar with this sort of
packages, and have so far relied on debian-mentors to help me package
and find a sponsor. I'm willing to learn and to lend a hand on other
packages if my skills allow it as part of team work.

Cheers,
Simon (aka laarmen on IRC)
