I think the best timing would be to wait until libav 0.8.1-4 reaches wheezy, (which will probably require a hint for britney from the release team, CC'ed for this reason) and then have libav-extra removed from unstable as well. You're welcome to contribute! About the archive rebuild: The rebuild was done on about 50 AMD64 nodes of the Grid'5000 platform, using a clean chroot.
