Sonic Visualizer

Would it be difficult to incorporate Sonic Visualizer into Debian ?

 See http://www.sonicvisualiser.org/download.html

When someone wants a piece of software packaged for Debian, usually they
create a 'Request for Packaging' (RFP) to track the status/progress on
introducing it.

Indeed, such an RFP has been created for Sonic Visualizer:

  http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=520230

It seems someone started on it, but ran into the fact that first a dependency
had to be packaged, 'rubberband'.

Looks like 'rubberband' has since been added, but work on sonic visualizer
hasn't continued yet. Might be good to add a note about that to the RFP.

Would you like to do the honours? Indeed it would be nice to have this in
Debian, it's a neat tool.

Hi Arnout,

Thanks for your note.

I was able to compile it on my old Debian machine, but first I had to
build bzip, rubberband, vamp, and installed the jack-sdk and some other
stuff. Finally, it compiled and it looks great...it starts with this
warning dialog box though:

No audio available

Could not open an audio device for playback.

Automatic audio device detection failed. Audio playback will not be
available during this session.

Any advice ? Can you point me to packaging instructions ?
