[DRE-maint] Bug#885674: ruby-gtksourceview2: Please drop this package
Package: ruby-gtksourceview2 Version: 3.2.1-1 Severity: serious Severity: important User: pkg-gnome-maintain...@lists.alioth.debian.org Usertags: oldlibs gtksourceview2 Tags: sid buster As announced [1], we do not intend to release Debian 10 "Buster" with the old libgnome (and related) libraries. These libraries have been deprecated and unmaintained for several years. Could you help us by removing ruby-gtksourceview2? It has no reverse- depends in Debian and new projects should use ruby-gtksourceview3 instead. [DRE-maint] Bug#879623: ruby-gir-ffi: Please don't suggest gir1.2-webkit-1.0
Package: ruby-gir-ffi Version: 0.11.3-1 Please don't suggest gir1.2-webkit-1.0. That package is part of the old webkitgtk which is being removed from Debian because it is no longer maintained and has many known security vulnerabilities. [DRE-maint] Bug#866647: ruby-webkit-gtk: depends on gir1.2-webkit-3.0 which is deprecated
Package: ruby-webkit-gtk Severity: serious Tags: sid buster User: pkg-webkit-maintain...@lists.alioth.debian.org Usertags: oldlibs libwebkitgtk-3.0-0 webkit1 Hi, ruby-webkit-gtk depends on gir1.2-webkit-3.0, which is deprecated in favor of gir1.2-webkit2-4.0 (provided in Debian by webkit2gtk). It should be ported to the new webkitgtk version so we can remove the old, unmaintained one. I suggest dropping ruby-webkit-gtk since it has no reverse dependencies in Debian. Upstream offers ruby-webkit2-gtk which you could optionally package. Please try to do soon as we're going to try to remove the old webkitgtk soon. I am filing this bug as "serious" since the old webkitgtk will not be available in the next major stable release of Debian (codenamed "buster"). If you have any question don't hesitate to ask.
