[Pkg-xfce-devel] Bug#517020: Bug#517020: Bug#517020: thunar: potential exploits via application launchers

(wow, this issue must really ease > release-time job… or not?) as the package maintainer, you have the right (and responsibility) to override the reported severity rating if you disagree with the submitter (although if that's the case, i think that there is a problem with debian's documentation [1] since it appears to indicate that any and all security holes are to be reported as grave). other than that, i think your justification makes sense, and i will not object if you wish to downgrade the severity to important. i do not wish to be the cause of blocking your 4.6 transition. best wishes, mike [1] http://www.debian.org/Bugs/Developer ___ Pkg-xfce-devel mailing list Pkg-xfce-devel@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/pkg-xfce-devel

When the main window is resized, I need the frame to resize upwards rather than downwards. The FreeDesktop window manager specification allows this with the win_gravity hint (which can be set with gtk_window_set_geometry_hints). >From the specification (http://standards.freedesktop.org/wm-spec/1.4/ar01s09.html): > If an Application requests just a new size, its reference point does > not move. So for example if client window has win_gravity > SouthEastGravity and is resized, the bottom right corner of its frame > will not move but instead the top left corner will be adjusted by the > difference in size. XFWM4 does not respect this hint correctly but instead seems to move the reference point when it is set. The window is still resized in the bottom-right direction. The win_gravity hint has no relation to the window gravity set with gtk_window_set_gravity. Metacity respects this hint correctly. -- Michael Levin --- End Message --- --- Begin Message --- Source: xfwm4 Source-Version: 4.6.0-1 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of xfwm4, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: xfwm4_4.6.0-1.diff.gz to pool/main/x/xfwm4/xfwm4_4.6.0-1.diff.gz xfwm4_4.6.0-1.dsc to pool/main/x/xfwm4/xfwm4_4.6.0-1.dsc xfwm4_4.6.0-1_amd64.deb to pool/main/x/xfwm4/xfwm4_4.6.0-1_amd64.deb xfwm4_4.6.0.orig.tar.gz to pool/main/x/xfwm4/xfwm4_4.6.0.orig.tar.gz A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached. Please contact ow...@bugs.debian.org immediately.) -- 483070: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=483070 Debian Bug Tracking System Contact ow...@bugs.debian.org with problems --- Begin Message --- Package: xfdesktop4 Version: 4.4.2-7 Severity: normal Hi, i'm fond of xfce AND openarena, and since latest debian version (4.4.2-7), screen stays black when i exit openarena. How to reproduce : launch openarena, then quit. Symptoms : - black screen - mouse cursor visible - right-click shows xfce menu, but without background refresh - panels react, but are invisible and launched apps are not visible either - when disconnecting x session, black screen disappears and for a split second windows are visible, just before x shuts down. It seems that bug is triggered with by a recent xfdesktop4 update, but i could be wrong. I guess it's not an openarena bug, because it is not triggered with gnome or kde sessions. I have trouble reverting to previous xfdesktop4 unstable package, is there a way to get it, or to get the corresponding source package ? Same when you download a file to the Desktop. This can be easily fixed by installing the package "fam", and adding users to the "haldaemon" group. Maybe this package could be added as a dependency to xfce4. Thus, (freedesktop.org) menu entries for eg. OpenOffice.org, having a line like: Exec=ooffice -writer %U don't work correctly. Upstream doesn't plan on fixing it in the near future: http://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2430 A workaround for this particular issue could be to fall back to oowriter, oocalc etc. wrappers for OO.o, but it doesn't fix the cause, and I'm hesitant to file a bug on OO.o for something that's not its fault. FWIW, Slackware packager does exactly that: http://rlworkman.net/pkgs/sources/current/openoffice.org-2.3.0/desktop-file-fix-2.3.diff Related Ubuntu bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/159611 Regards, Zoran --- System information. --- Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux 2.6.22.1-ck1 Debian Release: lenny/sid 990 testing security.debian.org 990 testing ftp.carnet.hr 990 testing debian.iskon.hr 990 testing buildd.emdebian.org 600 stable security.debian.org 600 stable ftp.sunet.se 600 stable ftp.srce.hr 600 stable debian.iskon.hr 500 feisty wine.budgetdedicated.com 50 unstableftp.sunet.se 50 unstabledebian.iskon.hr 50 unstablebuildd.emdebian.org 40 experimentalnekkar.carnet.hr 40 experimentaljurina.srce.hr 40 experimentaldebian.iskon.hr --- Package information. --- Depends(Version) | Installed -+-=== xfwm4 (>= 4.4.1) | 4.4.1-2+b1 xfwm4-themes (>= 4.4.1) | 4.4.1-1 xfce4-mcs-plugins (>= 4.4.1) | 4.4.1-1 xfce4-panel (>= 4.4.1) | 4.4.1-1jelly0 xfce4-icon-theme (>= 4.4.1) | 4.4.1-1 xfdesktop4(>= 4.4.1) | 4.4.1-5 thunar(>= 0.8.0) | 0.8.0-5 xfce4-utils (>= 4.4.1) | 4.4.1-1 gtk2-engines-xfce (>= 2.4.1) | 2.4.1-1 xfce4-session (>= 4.4.1) | 4.4.1-1 -- Zoran Dzelajlija Sistem administrator Informacijski sustavi i servisi Iskon Internet d.d. [Pkg-xfce-devel] Bug#517548: orage: Import shouldn't duplicate events with the same UID
Package: orage Version: 4.5.14.0-1 Severity: normal -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 If you import a calendar file in orage that contains copies of events already in the main orage file, these events get duplicated. (I.e., if you copy you orage file and import it, I have two copies of every event, all identical pairwise) This is very annoying if you are using orage on different computers and you want to keep the calendar synchronized. When Orage meets a UID it already knows, it should check the LAST-MODIFIED field, and pick the entry which was most recently modified.
