Yay!

Not sure if we need to vote or not but I'm a +1 for sure :)

 Hi all,
here's my request to join the FWT:

 name: Giacomo Spettoli

 email: giacomo.spett...@gmail.com

 reasons for the join request:
I started playing with Plone in 2009 during my degree thesis at Redturtle.
Since then I continued studing, working and contributing to Plone anyway I
can. I didn't do much commits to the core since now 'cause I was focused on
improving my knowledge first. I mostly made some commit during tuneups and
some patch now and then and I worked on 3rd party products. That said I
made my way in Plone and in the last 4 years it has been my full time job
all days (and often nights). I changed 3 companies where I always worked on
Plone so I've seen many projects and acquired many different skills.
Recently I'm focused on the documentation and on the plone's installers. It
wasn't my plan to send the join request now, but since you are seeking for
fresh blood and since joining the Framework team has always been one of my
mid/long term goals, I think the time has come for me to propose myself.
I'm aware I'm not the most experienced or known plonista out there, but I
can bring a good mix of will to do and skills to do it.

 cheers,
 Giacomo

Re: [Framework-Team] [Plone-developers] Call for Plone 5 Framework Team Members

2 cents: being on the FWT was an amazing experience. If you are
borderline or nervous, just make the jump and apply. I learned SO MUCH
from working with the team and if you put just a small amount of
effort in it will return itself 10 fold. No time for imposter
syndrome… hope to see some new faces join in!

This is really important to say and thanks for saying it. I hope
whoever copies and pastes, I mean writes :-), the next call for members
includes this in the post.

Thanks,
Ross

 Hello Fellow Plone Developers,

The current Plone Framework Team has decided that the next major
 Plone
release will be Plone 5 (instead of 4.4). So it's time for some
 fresh
blood on the Framework Team. We're seeking nominations for new
 members
to help get an awesome Plone 5 out the door sooner rather than
 later.

The framework team's mission is to guide the ongoing technical
 work on
Plone in ways that promote code quality and that are aligned with
 the
community's interests. Specific framework team responsibilities
 include:

 * Conducting in-depth reviews of Plone improvement proposals
 (PLIPs)
 * Encouraging contributors to submit needed PLIPs, and helping
 mentor
 them through the process
 * Meeting with the team for an hour every 2 weeks to work on
 moving
 PLIPs through the process

 See http://plone.org/community/teams/framework for more
 information
 about the framework team, and
 http://plone.org/community/processes/plips
for more about the procedure for considering proposed
 improvements.

Framework team members are expected to have made significant (code
 or
non-code) contributions to Plone, to be familiar with current
 Plone code
and/or UI best practices, to have plenty of experience with
 buildout and
to possess a tolerance for awkward silence during conference
calls. You're probably a good candidate if:

 * You follow discussion on plone-developers or Plone core commits
 on
 github
 * You're already active reviewing Plone-related pull requests
 * You have an opinion about the future of Plone, but are also
 someone
respected for your ability to carefully consider opinions
 different
 from your own.

If you or someone you know is interested in joining the team,
 please
send a nomination email to the framework team list
(framework-t...@lists.plone.org). Please include the name and
 email of
the nominee as well as a note detailing experience with Plone and
 some
reasons for wanting to join the team. Members will be selected by
 current and emeritus team members.

 Thanks,
 Ross Patterson

[Framework-Team] Request to join FWT

2013-06-26 Thread Ramon Navarro Bosch
After more than 10 years on Plone, I feel I want to apply for FWT member!
I'm sure it's going to be a lot of fun!

Name : Ramon Navarro Bosch
Email : ramon...@gmail.com

Reasons for the join request:
It's been my most active period on Plone during the last years and, since
plone.app.multilingual release, I've been going deeper and stronger on the
arch design.

As I know that means a lot of work and don't want to compromise to do
anything I can do, I asked @sneridagh (Victor Fernandez) to lead the
plone.org change. He said yes ( he is nowadays working on the new theme ),
and as we are collegues it's going to be easy to help him on the project.
So I feel that I can push my efforts on this team.

Salut,
Ramon
