Re: [PLUG] Portland Swift Linux

The first thought I had for a Portland band was Everclear, followed by
Seafood Mama / Quarterflash. Make three (four?) versions if you want
to include Decemberists as the bands differ quite a bit.

Are there any particular landmarks that should be showcased in the
wallpaper? (For Minnesota Swift Linux, I use the Duluth lift bridge and the
Spoonbridge and Cherry sculpture. For Chicago Swift Linux, I use the
 Chicago skyline and Buckingham Fountain.)

Mt Hood( look at the Portland Group main page http://www.pgroup.com/ )
Hawthorne bridge, etc.

The Decembrists, Dinosaur Jr, Floater, et
al.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_of_Oregon

Some slogans for the desktop wallpaper would also help. (The Minnesota
edition has You're gonna make it after all! in tribute to Mary Tyler
Moore. The Chicago edition has Chicago is the city that works. Chicago
Swift Linux is the OS that works. The Taylor Swift edition has You belong
 with Linux.)

How about Bud Clark's poster: expose yourself to art? Now _that's_ iconic.

Yeah, you don't want to use the joke painted on the side of all city cars:

I had totally forgotten about that, thank you for the smile that comes with

Yes, the special editions of Swift Linux are inspired by Hannah Montana
  Linux.

Because Portland has one of the heaviest concentrations of Linux users, is

Portland Swift Linux to the lineup. I want Swift Linux to go viral. This
