PLUG Hackfest TODAY 11AM-2PM 11/10/2012 DeVry Phoenix
We have a great Hackfest for you this Saturday at DeVry University in Phoenix from 11AM -2PM. Scott Becerra and a behind the scenes contributer named Ruben, have built up a very holy system for our edification and elucidation! Ruben is an awesome pen tester; he's discovered several vulnerabilities and has contributed to the metasploit project. The last half of the meeting we walk through the process of discovery and exploitation to help those that may still be stuck. Our goal is to design it so that there are easy, medium and more difficult flags and any needed tools are already included with Backtrack5r3. We have a good number of flags, easily won with Backtrack5r3 DVD live disks you can pickup and use in the lab machines. We have ready willing and able team members ready to jump in and assist you in your attack(s). We also have room for Open Discussion, Spectators, and those who want to watch or copy various DefCon 20 materials. OT: How to attach an image as a link?
How can I attach a business card image to an email message as a link so that a recipient can click on the image to go to the corresponding web page? Joe - you want to sent HTML email - embed (not attach) the image like any website and then add the link - make sure to add some javascript just for fun too (just kidding) make sure your email works in a text only world too - many, including myself consider HTML email an abomination/security problem and routinely have email servers strip that crap off at the front door - others dump the whole email into the spam box. it would be a shame to spend all this time designing the email, just to make it undeliverable - you might consider attaching your card as a vCard, that would be more useful. Thanks, Ed. I agree with your assessment of html email and I use text email almost exclusively; but I was just hoping to find a way to do what I described. So, what is a vcard and how could I use it to achieve the described objective? vCard is the abbreviation for Virtual Business Card (.vcf file), the standard for creating and sharing contact information over the Internet. you can send a contact to another person by forwarding it in vCard format. A recipient who uses an email and personal information manager program that supports vCards, such as Entourage, can open the vCard and add the contact to his or her address book. exactly, see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VCard or, go to your contact manager (like evolution) in the address book select your own entry - right click and Save as vCard.
