Re: [PLUG] Need Info
Never mind the placement cell and it's rules. It does not matter. Don't let it get you down. The projects you do and things you learn will get you the job. Just keep yourself upto date with the latest in Linux, dive deep into the code, understand how it works and more importantly do some work to prove that you really understand it. It does not matter what project you contribute to or if you start your own project. Just the experience of working in the open source community will teach you a LOT of things. Subscribe to mailing lists like LKML, Beowulf, etc, read stuff, read LWN, kernelnewbies, etc, hang out on the IRC channels, interact with people and help others learn from you as you learn from others. That exposure will make your resume stand out of the crowd when you apply to any company. Plus, you are in Pune. The ideal place for a Linux hacker to be (other than Bangalore, I guess). There is no dearth of Linux jobs. I am telling you out of my experience. I did my BE in Electronics from BVP (before it became deemed) and was not allowed to sit for the placements. Today, I'm doing pretty well and earn a living hacking the Linux kernel and am very happy with the work. So, stay positive. Keep learning. The job will come to you. [PLUG] Linux Creative Group - Meeting
Hi All, /There are painters who transform the sun to a yellow spot, but there are others who with the help of their art and their intelligence, transform a yellow spot into the sun./ - *Pablo Picasso * We all are gifted with the ability to think of something new ... to think of things that are yet unknown to others. If you are someone who believes in your ideas, who's passionate about doing something new, and who believes there's something in You.
