IP configuration it works fine on Windows OS but when i am doing the
same on Linux OS , its not working. I have used GNOME GUI and even

Hello Friend,

i didn't mean to start a distro war here.i just wanted to
say that for newbie mandriva is lot easier than fedora.
as Internet settings in mandriva is similar to windows.sorry if i hurt
anybody.

Umm.. without actually planning to start a distribution war here, but
the off-the-cuff replies to issues in the form of Dump distribution X
and use Y is kind of self defeating. Consider the situation, Nishant
has from his ISP a static IP, netmask, gateway IPs and nameserver bits.
For any distribution (not limited to Linux) that's more than enough to
get a connection going. It appears from Nishant's mail that the query is
more about what do I have to do next rather than damn this Fedora
thing so sucks, tell me another distribution that can get me on the
 internet

On the other hand, you are entitled to your opinion though ;)

I downloaded MySQL for Solaris 9.0 from MySQL site. MySQL is not working

I sent query at OpenSolaris forum under Database section. I am shocked,
nobody knows knows MySQL troubleshooting on Solaris. In 10 days i did a
lot
of searching on Google. Even MySQL itself dont have troublehooting
document
for MySQL on Solaris.
Any1 out here tried MySQL on Solaris before? Got those common errors?
In few forums I found solution is to restart Solaris server. I cant do
that
as developers are using the server 24x7 , 365 days. And I dont think
Solaris
need a reboot for these installations. Any work around ?

My server is Sun Sparc server running Solaris 9 .
