[PLUG] Open source desktop sharing tool
Hello All, I am looking for a open source desktop sharing tool, which can work on linux and windows platform. Something like Team Viewer in Windows. Team Viewer works with low band width and does not required any additional settings / configuration. Any one has any idea related to this? [PLUG] Grub problem with Acer 5738
Hello All, I had installed ubuntu 9.10 on acer 5738 laptop with windows XP. The ubuntu installation was completed fine. After installation I got the GRUB loaded menu with windows XP option. I had selected ubuntu usually the first option but after that the screen goes blank and I was not able to see anything. I had re-installed ubuntu on acer laptop and selected ssh packages. But same problem occur again. This time I was able to login to the laptop using ssh and able to all the things remotely. So is there any way to resolve this problem? Note: both the time of installation I had selected text mode installation as graphical installation was not working. hi does anybody knows how do i connect and synchroniz my htc touch phone with ubuntu... i tried something called PalmOS device but it didnt sync. Just guessing here, but I think HTC Touch runs on MS Windows CE, not PalmOS Yes, HTC having Windows OS not any other. But still memory card should be accesible in Ubuntu. Hello, Which linux distro you are using? I tried ubuntu 8.04, Ubuntu 8.10, Suse 11, Fedora 10 and Debian 4 on M2N-MX SE. Till now I have not found any driver problem with this Asus mother board. But other series P5GC-MX, I have not used yet. [PLUG] Installation with Quad core Processor.
Hello All, I have Intel Quad core 2.0 processor with Intel original board. I tried to install different linux flavors and but not working... Here are the os wise errors 1. Ubuntu 8.04 - installed properly but showing RAM only 3GB and actually connected RAM is 8GB. Also not giving the good performance. 2. Ubuntu 8.04 server edition - installed but got hanged 3. Suse 11 - installed but got hanged sometimes. 4. Cent OS - installed but got hanged 5. Debian 4.0 - DVD drive driver issue, unable to mount the dvd drive. 6. Open Solaris - Installation stopped in middle. And tried twice. Hello All, actually connected RAM is 8GB. Also not giving the good performance. You should explain in more detail what you mean by no good performance... which software/what scenario etc.. I want to install applications such as 1. Tomcat server 2. PostgreSQL database server 3. Eclipse 4. Apache 2.0 webserver 5. Mysql Database Server 6. Openbravo 7. SVN Server After this if I try to work with Eclipse it gets slow, like a PC having 512MB RAM. Were you trying a 64 bit distro or 32 bit? For such a setup, 64 bit distro. Yes, You are right. for such setup 64 bit distro is recommended. But the other packages which I want to use must be compatible with 64 bit distro. also. would be recommended to make full use of CPU. Try a 64 bit variant. Assuming that you install Ubuntu 8.04.1 64 bit edition, then: - the overall RAM visible would be 8 GB - you would be able to run a mix of 32 bit and 64 bit apps. This will not be a problem for you. Right As for other distros not getting installed or not responding to input during usage, that seems a case of either faulty device drivers or faulty hardware itself. I have a box at work which has a faulty motherboard. Ubuntu 8.04.1 and Belenix work fine on this, but CentOS 5.2 stops responding after about 10 minutes of uptime. If you are talking about hardware issue then I would like share some things with you, I have Laptop with AMD 2.0 turion processor with 1.5GB of RAM. On that few distro works fine such as Suse 10.2 Ubuntu 8.04 Ubuntu 8.10 but its slow down the speed of laptop. CentOS 5.0 I have asked HP to change the Motherboard. After changing the board I am not able run the Ubuntu 7.10 got hanged at the start of installation. [PLUG] Access to a particular website
Hello All, I am facing small problem from last few days. I want access a website (for eg. www.xyz.com) from my desktop. When I type the address in browser http://xyz.com then it gives me error permission denied. But I access same site from laptop in same network I can able to visit the site by typing same http://xyz.com Also if on my desktop, I type www.xyz.com then I can able to visit the website. So can anybody tell me where I am going wrong? On my Desktop I have Suse 10.3 Linux and on Laptop Ubuntu 7.04 Linux installed. [PLUG] FTP Client
Helllo All, Can anybody tell me FTP Client under linux platform.Currently I am using cuteFTP software in Windows, only this FTP client works fine ie. connects to the server quickly and transfers the files smoothly. I have tried GFTP, FILEZILLA, FireFTP (a plug-in for firefox). But got the error while transfering the files to the server. Errors like File could not be transfer, frequently automatically disconnect with server Please suggest me any FTP client which can solve these two problems. I am not getting any problem with cuteFTP software.
