I would suggest that you go in for a good motherboard with these processors, mine were ASUS with nivida chipset. (BTW if you are going for AMD processor don't get confused with the numbers like XP 2000 or 2400 there are the model numbers and not the processors speed. Look at the process-box, somewhere in corner in small letters they have given the actual speed!! ;) ) Other latest purchase is a AMD turion 64 bit laptop. And i am happy with its performance also and have also not observed and severe heating problems though i have used the laptop for more than 6 hours at a stretch. Last time I got a quote in April, I could get CPU+mobo(7500/-) for less than price of P4 CPU(8500/-). *YMMV*.
