[SlimDevices: Plugins] LazySearch Database Location?
LazySearch has been causing my Slimserver to not start properly. It hangs up for a while and then eventually crashes. I've removed the plugin and can get into my Slimserver now. Is there a way to clear the LazySearch index file and reinstall/re-Lazify my music to see if that fixes the problem? Actually I am talking rubbish, it works fine with a stream player! However the web page will not work properly when 'direct update' mode is disabled - because the plugin can't talk to iTunes to get the current information. I'm not sure how much of the web interface you can expect to work in this mode! To start slimserver with d_plugins do the following: 1. Open a command prompt (i.e dos box, c:/> )windows. 2. Cd to the Slimserver server directory which has the file slim.exe. 3. Ensure slimserver is stopped i.e. stop using systray 4. Enter the command "slim --d_plugins" (no quotes) Regarding your file - near the end the line Code: @Plugins::Alien::AlienAddon::AlienSoupRadioMenu::I SA=qw(Plugins::Alien::AlienMenu); It looks like "ISA" has had a space inserted and has become "I SA" - it should be ISA. If your new menu does not appear on the AlienBBC setting page then it didn't load properly and if you didn;t change anything in the body - you will probably be duplicating AlienSRMenu entries and the duplciates mightn't show up in the menus. 1. starting slimserver with d_plugins on the command line is the ONLY way to know for sure what is going on. Do it and post the message log. 2. Bryan - done as you said - i have only changed file title and the titles within the file - i have not changed any urls etc. it transfers back into addons, but is not seemingly recognised on SB and SB seems to lose stations in addons - start with 30 stations then can only see 26. all very odd. is there some other file that recognises the addons for SB ? maybe putting an AlienDIY.pm folder in addons for user definition if there are more background issues of enabling ? Just realised I was using the 1.99 versions of your plugins (which you sent to Ben on another thread). I'll try again with the official versions. What server version are you using? You mention the build date, but not what branch (6.3 or 6.5?). That plugin version is under developpment and was mainly posted to give the new skinning a test ride with the Nokia770 skin. In the event log, I got the following message:
Can't use an undefined value as a SCALAR reference at
/PerlApp/Slim/Web/HTTP.pm line 1117.
This is slimserver's web server. It may be due to a problem in the plugin,
but there might be another reason.
Anything I can do to help debug the problem??
Run slimserver with the -d_plugins parameter ("slim.exe -d_plugins" from
the command line). But this won't help much if you can't reproduce the
crash :-/.
