[SlimDevices: Plugins] Alien BBC and stored .ram files

2007-04-11 Thread Millwood

This has been around before but ...

I have some files in real audio format. Somehow, it seems that with
Alien installed, all the mechanism would seem to exist to play them.

So how hard would it be to make it work. Or does it work and I don't
know how?

(It seems to me that the basic slim design would do well to have a
standard way of plugging in an audio processor like mplayer to deal
with stream types that it doesn't support).

AlienBBC already support the .ram extension - have you tried playing
them using Tune-in ?

(It seems to me that the basic slim design would do well to have a

It does see contents of custom-types.conf and custom-convert.conf

thanks for replies, I didn't realise SS had a simplfied GUI in the form

I tried Michael Herger's program but couldn't get it to work. Maybe
will try again and raise some questions.

Does anyone know if it's possible to browse by album cover using a
handheld device, a bit like the Sonus system?

thanks to all

When in the album list, you can switch between the list view and the cover
art view (see button top right - SlimServer 6.5+ only).

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver

2007-04-11 Thread jallison

I've been using the SuperDateTime plugin on my good old SB1 for quite a
while now and really like it. I just downloaded the latest version
(5.0.5) to deal with the MLB parsing issue. It's working, but now the
time and weather information (on line 2) scrolls, which it didn't do
before. I'd rather not have it scroll, because it doesn't need to (all
the information fits) and it just makes it harder to read.

Is there a way to tell the plugin to not scroll?

Thanks.

The setting is 'Basic' now. It's not the scrolling from weather display
to game that's bothering me. That works just fine and does what the
description of 'basic' says it will do. It's the display of weather
information itself. Right now my display looks like this:

Tonight: Partly Cloudy
3:08 PM 73f/33%/SSW 4/29.98-

The first line is centered. The second line scrolls across the display.
It didn't do that before.

Also the forecast used to include a high or low temp. So the top line
would read, Tonight: Partly Cloudy Low 53 or something like that.

Sorry if I sound whiny, I don't mean to. I like this plugin a lot and
really just want it to work the way it did before I upgraded. Thanks.

Hi Greg -
I'm also appear to have the issue where the finished games scores do
not show for long after the game has finished; I get tomorrows games
instead. I like in the UK, and your previous fix worked fine for me. Is
this another affect of ESPNs changes?

Caveat: I have recently made some wireless network changes, and my WLAN
connection is a little flaky. Can't rule this out as the cause either
for the time being...
