Something that caught my eye: when - for example in Search Artists - a
blank search query is initiated by accident (quite easy to with any op

the blank search. I have to browse one the Recent Artists before I can
do a successful search again.

Otherwise - problem free after two weeks of heavy usage.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: WaveInput for Linux

2010-07-20 Thread bpa

The URL for Waveinput uses a wavin: prefix and then you add the device
name that follows -D in the arecord.

So if permissions are correct then the URL you should be using is
wavin:mon_mix

Enable Debug level logging for plugin_waveinput and you can see the
arecord command the plugin is using to confirm it is correct.

Ok, ok, you've been asking for it: version 1.2 introduces the add
folder to favorites feature. Please note that it will not travers
sub-folders. You'll still have to use the feature on every folder.
Including sub-folders would very likely be a terrible performance
killer.

Other changes:
- added an iThingy optimized webapp mode
- Danish translations - thanks Kuben72!

simultaneously and if there are any performance issues when doing so,
i.e. will it be faster than consecutive scans.

It depends what takes time, could you try enable info level logging
of plugin.customscan in SBS Settings/Advanced/Logging and then run a
rescan and post the log when it's finished ? Do this independent if the
solution described below works because it's always good for me to get
some timings of the different parts in a larger library.

If the time is in the refresh operation in the beginning it might be
faster to run both at once instead of sequentially.

I think you can get what you want by:
1. Goto SBS Settings/Plugins/Custom Scan/Various Settings and set the
Automatic rescan parameter to true
2. In the Custom Tag and Rating Tag configuration make sure the
Include in automatic scans and Scan All is checked and make sure
it's unchecked for all modules you don't want to include.
3. Hit Scan all, this should perform scanning of all scanning modules
which has been checked according to point 2. The setting in point 1 will
make sure scanning is never executed automatically.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Photo Gallery Plugin v1.0

2010-07-20 Thread Campus

Thanks a lot for this great enhancement. Where do you see the
performance problem regarding recursive adding of folders?

I found two little issues with gallery:

1. Adding folders adds all files within the folder and does not filter
out any non-JPEG files. This makes it impossible to view that
collection of files as a slideshow. I had to manually remove in the
config file the other files to get a working slideshow

2. The slideshow ignores the setting for random display. I have no idea
whether this is a problem of your gallery plugin or the Image Viewer
component you are using for display.

Thanks for your help,
Campus

I think it should appear quite quickly. There is possibly a problem

If you set helper app logging to Debug what does it show in the

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)

2010-07-20 Thread Espen

When using the SB3 it is possible, while playing a song, to look at the
details for song and search for Artist, Album, Genre etc by navigating
to the right. That would be very handy for spotify as well (avoid
typing at all costs). Not sure it it is possible to include the same
functionality in that part of the menu hierarchy but a dedicated search
menu entry to search for current artist, album, etc would be nice.
Especially when using playlists that are mixes of artists and albums.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)

Is there a chance you could route the player status artwork (for
NowPlaying) also through the plugin like for the smaller icons?

The reason I'm asking is because the way it is now, the artwork URLs
are only accessible within your local network, if you access a server
remotely you don't have artwork anymore.
OK, maybe a bit of a remote (sic) use case but there were people using
their iPhone over cellular to control a Squeezebox from the garden...

Intel Macbook, Mac OS X 10.6.4 (Snow Leopard). It works in 64 bits ,
even though the squeezeserver runs in 32bit.

The spotify plugin works beautifully in the same machine in dual boot

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Photo Gallery Plugin v1.0

2010-07-20 Thread Michael Herger
Thanks a lot for this great enhancement. Where do you see the
performance problem regarding recursive adding of folders?

I have thousands of images in hundreds (or thousands) of sub-folders. My
server takes 30-40 seconds to just find all the files. That's not the time
I'd want to wait for the favorites to be added.

 1. Adding folders adds all files within the folder and does not filter
 out any non-JPEG files.

Oops... thanks for the heads up. Expect 1.2.1 to go out today. It's a
simple fix. I obviously only tested with a small test folder with only
images in it.

 2. The slideshow ignores the setting for random display. I have no idea
whether this is a problem of your gallery plugin or the Image Viewer
component you are using for display.

Can't say what's wrong there. Will test this when I find time.

Thanks for the feedback!
