Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: YouTube Plugin

2011-08-24 Thread smitti_

No, I think you misunderstood me. The first thing, I don't upload the
videos, and the second thing is that it does not matter which video I
play. Everytime I play 15 videos in a row I have to restart the server
to listen to another 15 songs.

And when I get the error when playing video number 16 and I restart the
server, this video works fine. So this shouldn't be an issue of the
video format.

It's HTC :-). They're known for their web app unfriendly changes to the
Android code. We've had issues with HTC devices, which we were able to
work around before release. Now there seem to be new issues.

Looking at the comments in the Android Market I see tons of those
complaints, and they're coming from HTC users only. But then that's just
feeding Steve J.'s claim that Android was suffering from its
segmentation...

[SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC iPlayer missing station logos

2011-08-24 Thread castalla

I've installed the latest (nightly) 7.6.1 - latest 1.1.21 iplayer - the
only logos which show are R4 and World Service - all others are the
default radio mast.

However, if I select and play via the web gui the logos show on the
Touch screen. They then display as usual when switching on the Touch.

Some strange interaction going on!

Have you tried restarting Touch ? Artwork is cached in Touch and if it

Any ideas?

Thanks for reply; I'll check this out when I get home tonight.

My system is using a Sonore music server. I stored all files as FLAC.
The files are sent out via IS2 to a PS Audio PerfectWave DAC which
converts to WAV and then sends the analog signal out to the preamp.
Since the PS Audio supports up to 192/24, I think I should be getting

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New versions of erlands plugins

2011-08-24 Thread dip

Hi Erland,

I just upgraded from squeezeboxserver 7.5.5 to 7.6.1 and have have a
problem with Custom Browse. I use several Custom Browse menus
especially for browsing classical music based on the Mixed Tags
template. The menus comprise standard tags like ALBUM, ARTIST, COMPOSER
and custom tags like GROUPING (for the work name of a classical piece)
and COMMENT. I have for example the following browse menus:

Classical Music - Work - Composer - Artist - Title

Classical Music - Album - Work - Title

Classical Music - Composer - Work - Artist - Title

Classical Music - Artist - Album - Work - Title

These Custom Browse menus are based on the Mixed Tags template and
worked perfectly in the past. However, since I switched to
squeezeboxserver 7.6.1 all Artist, Composer and Album entries are
always listed twice in the browse menus. This is independent of the
level in which the Artist, Composer or Album is.

So I get e.g. a composer browse list like

Bach, Johann Sebastian
Bach, Johann Sebastian
Beethoven, Ludwig van
Beethoven, Ludwig van
Chopin, Frederic
Chopin, Frederic

and so on.

This happens only with Artist, Composer and Album but not with Work
(GROUPING). I use also the COMMENT tag in some browse menus and this
tag is also correctly listed once in each browse list. So it seems that
only the standard tags are concerned but not the tags scanned with
Custom Scan.

This happens on the web interface, the squeezeboxes, the controller and
in Squeezecommander on my Android phone.

In the album browse list the first album name is preceeded by the album
art (since in the mixed tags template I selected the corresponding level
tag type as Album) whereas the second (double) entry does not have an
album art in front.

I enclose three samples of my Custom Browse xml files which I have
renamed to *.txt files to be able to upload them.

Could you please check if this is a bug in Custom Browse?

Thanks a lot in advance.

How does the Custom Scan configuration for Custom Tag and Mixed Tag
look like ?

Usually duplicates like this is because the standard tags has been
configured to be scanned with Custom Tag scanning module and also with
the Mixed Tag scanning module, so the Mixed Tag scanning module takes
ALBUM both from standard SBS tables and from custom tags scanned with
Custom Tag.

Could you either check the Custom Scan configuration yourself or just
post the customscan.prefs file here or send it to me so I can look at
it ?

I assume you don't get the duplicates in the standard SBS browse menus
?

2011-08-24 Thread dip

As far as I can see the standard tags are only scanned in the Mixed Tags
scanning module. In the Custom Tags scanning module only
GROUPING,TRACKNUM,COMMENT are included in the Tags to scan and the
Single value tags fields.

Where do I find the customscan.prefs file in ubuntu?

And the menus worked as expected since a long time. Only after having
switche from 7.5.5 to 7.6.1 the double entries appeared.

And yes, I don't get double entries in the standard SBS browse menus.

I just found customscan.prefs in /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/prefs/plugin

I renamed it to customscan.txt for uploading it.

It doesn't seem to be any problem with your Custom Scan configuration.

Can you temporarily install the Database Query plugin and post the
statistics from the Custom Scan Statistics and Squeezebox Server
Statistics reports provided through it ?

Also, do you get duplicates for all items or just some of them ?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

garym,

Your suggestion worked. It took me a few tries to realize you have to
hold your finger on the song listing to have the screen change to the
Song Info screen and from there select the More Info item.

The system shows the Hi Rez filess (192/24) being played.

Thanks for your help.
