Well, it's called code lock in English, don't know about Apple's
 terminology in other languages.
It when you have to enter a code to disable the screen saver.

If you disable that feature (the you will only have to swipe to disable
the screen saver), at least for me it solved the issue in 90% of the
cases (I was able to reproduce the issue twice without the code lock
 but never again).

Thx a bunch.

The lock screensaver function did not do it for me, but ill sit tight
for the update, and then we shall see :)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Squeeze Remote for Windows Phone 7

2011-10-20 Thread Gilles2

I have been using this App for some time now and it is great.
I woudl support the ask from JIJ3 though as a nice additioanl feature.
More and more online quality music stores (like Qobuz in France for
instance) provide pdf files with their downloads (useful with Classical
music files not listed in most Lyrics databases). Having this available
in the lyrics and info tile would be great.

Lasse,

Then please give me more details about what exactly you are seeing,
what you are playing (file format) and please send me a diagnostics
mail from within iPeng (tap the mail link in Help).

The problem I've identified is clearly related to the code lock and so
far I'm not aware of other issues and I have been testing this a _lot_
recently.

You don't sync iPeng to another Squeezebox, don't you?

IMHO, you would need plugin support for this feature, because a Mobile

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Confusion over TrackStat

2011-10-20 Thread Mick Trusler

Hi,

I'm confused over TrackStat. I'm evaluating it and will pay for it if I
can get it to do what I need. I want my albums to be rated as I play
them. I think I have reset all data and then using TrackStat via the
web interface if I View Albums and then Albums Not Rated it shows all
my albums at zero. This is perfect. However, if I then View Albums
Rated 6 (I'm using a 1 - 10 rating) it also shows all my albums as
having been rated at 6. I don't think it should be showing any albums
as rated as 6. How do I get this set up correctly?

Thanks

Mick

You really need to uninstall the 2.1.0 one, reboot and check it is not

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Softsqueeze 3.9 beta for testing

2011-10-20 Thread Havin_it

Hi, I don't know how alive this thread or BPA's work are at this stage,
but I have a point to add and a question to raise, if I may. Both are
related to the Java MP3 Plugin.

Point: The most recently-posted link above for the plugin now goes to
an Oracle page for a larger bundle of multimedia-stuff. I found a link
for the MP3 plugin alone, at

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javasebusiness/downloads/java-archive-downloads-java-client-419417.html#javamp3-1_0-oth-JPR

Question: Is there any way the MP3 plugin can be included into the
Softsqueeze applet/jnlp when deployed from one's own server, instead of
the client having to download and add it to their Java install? Note I
appreciate the licensing issues, but I'm only talking about individuals
being able to include it by themselves for their own use. (As long as
only I use the applet, I believe I'm still honouring the license for
the plugin, no?)

I realise the plugin is only available compiled, but can it somehow be
supplied along with the main Softsqueeze applet, or does it have to be
properly installed in the client's JRE?

There's a bug in SP which impacts this (well I consider it to be a bug
in SP!). The first time now playing is displayed it may not get the
duration and hence not show the progress bar. Even though subsequent
status updates include a duration it does not trigger the progress bar
- you can check by exiting and then reentering the now playing screen
when the programme is playing...

Yeah, I just recently downloaded and installed the mp3 plugin from that

BPA can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the whole reason
why the mp3 plugin was never included as part of the package is because
it belongs to Oracle (not public domain).

Try checking your firewall - there are no playing details here which

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Softsqueeze 3.9 beta for testing

2011-10-20 Thread Havin_it

Hi mkanet,

Yes I understand that's why it cannot be distributed with Softsqueeze,
but what I'm trying to suggest (perhaps poorly) is that if it were
technically possible for me, as an end-user, to re-pack the softsqueeze
.jar with the mp3plugin .jar inside (so that Softsqueeze would use it if
present), then as long as I don't re-distribute the resulting .jar to
anyone else, then I am not violating the license for either component.

I have come across this at least once before, where the source of an
application came with a simple instruction to place the required
library in a given subfolder and make a small edit to another source
file in order to make use of that library in the resulting app when
built. That was also a Java app, but the lib in question was available
as source, so I don't know if the same trick will work with the MP3
plugin as it's precompiled and source is unavailable. That's really
what I'm asking: is it possible techically, and if so could I get any
pointers on how to set it up?

Is it allowing squeezebox through to the helper app (different port
than normal playback - as set on the setting page)

IMHO, you would need plugin support for this feature, because a Mobile
App cannot access the server's harddrive directly.

I see. Should this then be directed to the developers as a request? I
think there would be much enthusiasm for this from all mobile users.

I do not think that Logitech is interested to include this in the core
SBS.
They already have too few people to maintain and improve even the core
features...

But maybe Phil's SongFileViewer plugin could be extended for this:
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=45917
http://www.hergest.demon.co.uk/Music/slim/SongFileViewerPlugin.htm

At the moment, it seems to be used to show txt files directly on the
Squeezebox.
(I've never used it, so I cannot say if it still works with the current
SBS version...)

You could try to contact Phil...

I realise the plugin is only available compiled, but can it somehow be
supplied along with the main Softsqueeze applet, or does it have to be
properly installed in the client's JRE?

Any user can take the softsqueeze source and build it themselves

Source for 3.7 can be found here:
http://svn.slimdevices.com/slim/7.6/trunk/softsqueeze/

I patched it to 3.9 (3.8 was an interim fix) and this was later patched
by another user IIRC Ralphy has built the update softsqueeze and put it
the various builds on sourceforge alongside squeezeslave
http://sourceforge.net/projects/softsqueeze/files/ .

Regarding the MP3 plugin - all I wanted to do was minimal maintenance
to keep Softsqueeze ticking over for a few weeks until Squeezeplay was
finished. Subsequently it was decided that Squeezeplay was always be in
beta.

I cannot offer any advice about inclusion of the MP3 plugin as I have
not looked at the relevant licences.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Confusion over TrackStat

2011-10-20 Thread erland

Albums which haven't been rated currently shows up in the middle of the
rating scale (at 6) because it's most likely where they will end up
after rating if you look at it from a statistical perspective.

So it might be a bit confusing but I believe your system is working as
it should:
- The Not rated menu displays albums which haven't been rated
- And unrated albums are considered to have the average rating when
looking at the Specific rating which means they will also show up
under 6.

I can agree that it might look a bit strange in the Specific rating
menus but the intention was to make sure unrated albums didn't always
show up in the end of Top rated menu, the idea was that it would be
strange to always consider unrated albums to be the worse music you
have in your library, better to consider it to be average.

Let me know if you think this is a major issue and I'll consider adding
a configuration option for it in a future release.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Softsqueeze 3.9 beta for testing

2011-10-20 Thread Havin_it

Hi bpa, thanks for the info on current situation. I should reiterate,
though, that I'm not concerned with any issues of licensing: I assert
(though you may disagree) that license incompatibility is irrelevant if
I build a combined package myself for my own use, because no
distribution occurs. By supplied in the sentence you quote, I mean
supplied by me from my own HTTP server to my own browser, that's all.
Should have phrased that better.

If I can get hold of newer source (there's no source with the
sourceforge release and the slimdevices svn is, as you say, 3.7 only)
then I'll try to make some sense of it myself. Even absent that,
perhaps I'll get lucky with some trial-and-error on the binaries.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Softsqueeze 3.9 beta for testing

2011-10-20 Thread bpa

I cannot offer any advice about inclusion of the MP3 plugin as I never
looked into the issue. The current Softsqueeze jar includes prebuilt
jars from other source (e.g. jFlac).

The 3.9 is built from the 3.7 source code with patches - AFAIK these
patches have been posted to this thread.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Softsqueeze 3.9 beta for testing

2011-10-20 Thread Havin_it

Yes, after seeing those I hoped I could perhaps just add the
mp3plugin.jar to the /lib folder with those others, and name it in the
META_INF/MANIFEST.MF file in the SoftSqueeze.jar and in the jnlp file,
but alas not so simple :(

The jar is unsigned, which makes the webstart fail. Self-signing it
would be the next step, but I'll have to work out how that's done as
that's new to me. If that succeeds, we'll see whether there is more to
the problem than that alone...
