Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] WD MyBook Live NAS

2012-01-15 Thread fjunger

I suggest Logitech fixes this problem and doesn't leave it up to their
customers!

As stated several times, SBS 7.6.0 works fine, no matter how many files
there are or how big or small the free disk size on the partition is,
where the cache is stored.

So the question from Michael seems to be irrelevant:

Do you have enough empty disk space on the partition where the cache
and
log files are stored?

Readynas support comes from logitech, qnap and linksys build and

That all looks ok its saying the connection between the server and your
player means it needs to buffer rather than send frames, but it is ok as
the overall rate is above the sample rate. You don't really need the
debugging level set to stream debugging - suggest set to normal
debugging level and see what it says at the time you think it is timing
out.

works again now. I again restarted everything, and uninstalled and
reinstalled your plugin. Also re-entered the password.
What seemed to have done it though was to delete the logfile - could it
be that it became to big to handle for my very small little squeezeplug
server? it was 2147483647 (I think that's bytes).

Interestingly it doesn't seem to write a logfile anymore now, even
though I turned logging back on. Still fiddling with that.

I don't suggest leaving the log file set to Stream Debug as this means
it writes lots of text during playback of songs - this should only be
used for debugging purposes. Suggest leave the log setting at Info

[SlimDevices: Plugins] FLAC-Verify - a batch script to verify FLAC checksums

2012-01-15 Thread NigelMSB

I've got a script that I run as a scheduled task to verify FLAC files
using their built-in checksums. The script is derived (well copied and
modified) from this one
(http://www.neilpopham.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/flac-test.bat) with changes
to email the results in case of a failure. I run this weekly via a
Windows scheduled task.

I thought I'd share it here in case it's useful. It assumes one is
using Windows Home Server 2011 (it gets the SMTP details from those
given to WHS to use for the WHS alerts).

It starts with FLAC-Verify-Task.cmd. Run this with the syntax
specified in the file. Task Name is just a friendly name for the task
(in case of multiple FLAC folders, etc.). It then logs some details and
runs FLAC-Verify.cmd.

The email alerting requires a text file with the SMTP server password
in it (at C:\ProgramData\FLAC-Verify\FLAC-Verify SMTP Password.txt),
assuming th SMTP servr requires authentication.

It will log results to C:\ProgramData\FLAC-Verify\FLAC-Verify Log -
TaskName.log.

The body of the alert email should be in a text file at
C:\ProgramData\FLAC-Verify\FLAC-Verify Alert Email Body.txt.

There's FLAC-Verify Send Test Alert Email.cmd which can be used to
test the alerting.

It uses BLAT (http://www.blat.net/) to send the email.

And if you want to export one from the US, you need an export license.
For PGP they once did a big effort to get it out of the country
(printing the source, exporting it and scanning it again; that was a
loophole then). After all, you can IMPORT cryptography into the US
without problems...

Is it not just the strongest rsa that is restricted, meaning not

By getting a license. It'S not that this is impossible, it's just red
tape. And I just learned yesterday that as of 2010 the red tape
obviously got a bit simpler. Although it still has some formal
registration processes that takes weeks in it.

All cryptography is not developed in the US ? How can US export

Import is no problem, I can see in the US. Problem is: Apple is a US
company and they _want_ to obey US law (they don't want trouble,
either) so they require it even though technically only a few countries
would be affected (the ones where the App is being sold through the US
App Store but which are not the US).
Apple doesn't want three different processes either, I suppose.

Edit: carefully read the links, so it is a automated registration
process, that basically almost in every case allows standard methods
when you have done then the paperwork and registred.
Yes, that's what I said above. When I last checked (which was before
that change) it was a different, much more complex process, I might go
through that one and use encryption in a few places where I would love
to.

Thanks for the diagnostic tips, Erland. I hadn't realized I could see
the data under Extras. And yes, the weather and sports data both show
up correctly under SuperDateTime's Extras listing, So that points to

questions.

As for checking the server log, I find the following three lines (two

a day:

I'd still like to know what source OffClockSaver SDT Weather Fahrenheit

Agreed and this is what I'm using (PPTP or L2TP) but SSH has so many

Echonest is implemented in SpotON radio for Spotify. I used it for some
days and compared to Pandora to my opinion there selection is better
and more divers.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] WD MyBook Live NAS

2012-01-15 Thread Michael Herger
So the question from Michael seems to be irrelevant:

Do you have enough empty disk space on the partition where the cache
 and log files are stored?

Why is this irrelevant? There are huge changes between 7.6 and 7.7, which can
make the difference: LMS 7.7 is scanning photos and videos on your disk too.
This can result in much larger files.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Softsqueeze 3.9b2 won't play some shoutcast streams - WHY

2012-01-15 Thread ischmitz

First off I am fairly new to squeezebox. I ran across an issue and
searched high and low for an answer: My setup is a squeezebox touch and
a softqueeze station running 3.9b2 on a V90 Wyse thin client with
WinXPe.

When I connect both stations to mysqueezebox.com the touch can play all
the shoutcast stream with no issues while the softsqueeze plays some and
can not play others. One stream in particular is fine on the touch but
doesn't work in softsqueeze. Winamp on the same machine plays it just
fine. So it is not a network issue. When I synchronize the stations
both won't play. I also noticed the softqueeze fails on a lot of
shoutcast radio stations while the touch play everything just fine.

When I connect both stations to my squeezebox server on my NAS
(Synology DS211 runing DSM3.2 and squeezeserver) both clients refuse to
play that stream. What makes this stream different from others where
everything works fine?? The stream is at 89.238.252.130 on port 8000
with listen.pls at the end. The stream format is audio/aacp with 48
kbps.

As a side note my audio station on the NAS also refuses to play this
stream. I am confused and really would like to get to the bottom of
this. How do I troubleshoot what is going on?

Thanks for input,
Ingo

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Softsqueeze 3.9b2 won't play some shoutcast streams - WHY

2012-01-15 Thread ischmitz

below is the debug output of softsqueeze:

522914 [SlimTCP-1] DEBUG javasound - CONVERSION PROVIDER:

any clues how to make softqueeze understand and decode the stream
properly?

If you look at the configuration of it in Custom Clock Helper, you will
be able to see which SDT keywords that are used in the sdttext and
stdicon items. In my configuration it looks like it's using %t %v %z
%x, you can probably see in your SDT configuration which keywords that
represent the PWS you like to refer to, and then just reconfigure the
style through Custom Clock Helper. Remember that if you like the style
to change immediately you need to make sure the Custom Clock screen
saver is active and shown with the style while you are editing the
style through Custom Clock Helper settings page in SBS/LMS.

The SDT Sports style is configured to show currently active and
finished games. Are there any active and/or finished games when you are
looking at the screen in Extras/SuperDateTime ?

It's possible to change the configuration of the sdtsporttext and
sdtsporticon items through Custom Clock Helper if you want them to
look differently.

Let me know if you think SDT Sport style doesn't work as intended and
I'll try to take a look at it in my own setup.

Yeah. I installed License Manager early on, and hit refresh and it
showed that it had a valid one month license (Already Licensed)
several times but no go. I just compared the numbers on your site and

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Softsqueeze 3.9b2 won't play some shoutcast streams - WHY

2012-01-15 Thread bpa

This stream has some AAC audio format errors.

I can play it on SB3, Softsqueeze and Touch but not every time.

When I play it using mplayer with debug on - there were lots of AAC
format errors in the audio stream. Now it plays OK more often with no
errors.

As helpful as you have been, -this- was groundbreaking!! I now see how
the configuration works. I was changing variables in the SDT settings
and not in Custom Clock Helper. The weather data displayed is now
coming from the Personal Weather Station. Thanks -very- much for that.

Yes, active and completed games show up in Extras/SuperDateTime. At
this point SDT Sport still does not look/work as I imagined. I'm not
saying it's not as you intended. Now that I know how to configure it,
I will do so over the next day or two and see if I can get it to
display as I imagined. I guess the only pointer I'd need right now is
how to get either device to scroll through than one sport. From the
look of the config area on your Helper, it can only be one. Again, I'm
sure I'm wrong on this and just need a little push in the right
direction.

Thanks.

Did you install it on the Controller itself or just in your Squeezebox

You need to install it on the Controller itself through
Settings/Advanced/Applet Installer menu.

If I remember it correctly, it should show all sports you have defined
in the SDT configuration if you don't set the sport attribute on the
sdtsporttext items in Custom Clock Helper configuration. I think the
SDT Sport style should show all sports by default but I might
remember incorrectly.

Let me know if you don't get it to work and I'll take a look at it my

As if Yello did the same kind of music as Plüsch (for whomever knows

Just listened to some Plüsch (very difficult to understand for

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Softsqueeze 3.9b2 won't play some shoutcast streams - WHY

2012-01-15 Thread ischmitz

What makes the SBT and your SB3 deal with these format errors while
softsqueeze and my NAS choke?

FYI, I was never able to get a single beep out of the softsqueeze
application with that stream. It gets the stream information, then
sometimes the seconds start counting but that's it. More often than not
I get a plain error message and the seconds reset to 0:00
