[SlimDevices: Plugins] Squeezeplay problem
I've installed Squeezeplay about 5 times over the last couple of years with no issues. Have recently installed on my Mum's pc (Win7/32bit) and it starts up and immediately closes down (briefly flashes up and vanishes). It appears to be enabled in her AVG firewall, latest Java is installed, I have tried installing with admin priv. No success. I installed this plugin - set the location, etc. It appears in Extras on the Touch. However, I can't find how to set it as a screensaver for other functions - it doesn't appear in Settings - Screen - Screensavers as an option. Confused!
You will need Custom Clock applet if you like to use it as a screen
saver on the Touch. SuperDateTime works as screen saver on the old
players (Boom/Classic/Transporter) by itself but on the
Touch/Radio/Controller the screen saver is only available through
Custom Clock applet.

OK, even though I could not reproduce the crash I also found an image where the black bars are added, it's my huge image for crash tests, maybe it's too big for the server to handle the F mode although it does seem to work for thumbnails. The difference is that thumbnails get requested as 150x150 images while the cover is 768x768 on iPad. Also, thumbnails are f - fit stretch, maybe that makes a difference. But the full image will be created in the image memory accessible by the graphics controller and it's 32 bit deep (24 bit color and 8 bit alpha) so we are talking 7,5 MB here (which I believe should still work). could you send me that file, I currently can't reproduce the crash issue although I did try bigger files. As far as I can recall the cover art with black bars were not that huge, usually singles cover art which seldom are available in huge dimensions. Unless you rescale the cover wall thumbnails they should be shown as delivered by the server. PS. I just tried Show cover art in iPeng for the really huge 7200x7200 cover art and that made iPeng crash before the cover art was shown. No surprise. 200MB for an image _is_ too much :) Maybe I should make these image requests scale, too. Another cover art of only 1412x1389 showed just fine in iPeng. The show cover art option sometimes shows a large display covering almost the entire file/album/cover wall area and sometimes only a fraction of that area (although the cover art is large enough to cover the whole iPad screen).
