Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: BBCiPlayer Plugin (UK only)
I am using a Squeezebox 2 with wired (Powerline) connection. The settings are (the default, I think) AAC FlashAAC FlashMP3 WMA. I was wondering whether programs that showed in Extras but not in iPlayer were sent out by the BBC in a different format. Certainly I get the rebuffering problem often when I use Extras and rarely (never, I think, but can't recall) in iPlayer. What I have not checked is whether the problem is related to time of day, whether perhaps my ISP is choked at certain times. danco's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=210 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

With SB2 - then there will be transcoding most of thge time as AAC will be used. This means your LMS will be sending Flac to SB2 which might cause rebuffering if using Wifi or if server was a NAS. If outside the UK, if rebuffering is a big problem you could change to using WMA as there will be little difference in quality. I was wondering whether programs that showed in Extras but not in iPlayer were sent out by the BBC in a different format. Certainly I get the rebuffering problem often when I use Extras and rarely in iPlayer. Extras does not do any playing - it just gets a program id which points to a list of available formats for a program. The programs are the exact same as for iPlayer and it is iPlayer setting which determines which format to choose and play. IPlayer uses the offical BBC XML of program data - Extras uses RSS feeds (now undocumented as if BBC wants to retire them) for many of the menus and some other unofficial feeds (e.g. for Archives, Daily schedule) which seem to be more up to date that the XML feed. It looks like the XML feeds is run at fixed time and create the XML a couple of times a day from the iPlaye database whereas the feeds the EXtras uses seems to be a live connection to the database that underpins the BBC iPlayer web pages. Often a program does not appear on the XML feed but can appears on Extras menus - if these are the programs you having rebuffering then it could be a BBC issue as it may mean some formats although listed are not yet available and the iPlayer plugin will try all formats until it find one that plays and likely many other BBC users are doing the same and loading a particular server. However, more analysis is needed to correlate rebuffering and program before a firm opinion could be given. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

If it's being held up or slowed down while this happens it can either delay the response a lot (so that you might not even get a result on first try) or even crash the server. This is not iPeng related, though, it's generally how Browse Music Folder woks in Squeezebox Server, I would expect the same behavior if you browse there directly from the Squeezbox or the web interface. I should have thought of trying using the Squeezebox remote to browse the folders. Today I did it with no problem, and iPeng did it also with no problem. I also find that scanning my music causes the server to stop, despite having tidied my tags pippin wrote: You could have a look at the server.log or scanner.log to get any clue about which file is affected. You can find the log file locations in the server's web interface under Settings-Information. Today I looked in my logs. There is nothing in my scanner logs since June. In the server log I see that I restarted the server twice yesterday evening, and just before each occasion there was an Interpreter Failed warning referring to GDResizer. Thank you again for your response. I'll look again in the logs if the problem recurs. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Digitally Imported App Cover Art Doesn't show
I took the plunge and decided to a subscribe to a premium account for one of my favourite internet radio stations, a station specialising in electronic music called Digitally Imported or DI. Its superb, really nice high bit rate streams but ive discovered a strange quirk. When I listened to the 'free' stream as an internet radio station the 'cover art' they use for each channel showed up as exactly that but now I have to use the DI app installed on the squeezebox to access the premium stream and it doesnt show the cover art even though its there in the list of channels. BTW I am use an android app to control my squeezebox and it doesn't make any difference which app i use (squeeze Commander or the logitech one) the art doesn't show up. Its a shame cos the artwork that DI have designed for each channel its really nice and it would really make using the app a lot more pleasant instead of staring at a black square in the 'now playing' window. Hopefully I've made sense and someone understands my problem and that there is a way to get the art to show. Grateful for any advice on how to fix this. cheers. hp1's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33878 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96024 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

That my point to the issue: maybe it's a problem with the artwork for one of the files. Although a warning should not lead to a crash. pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Radio 4 shows within the left hand screen of LMS as 48kbps but within the right hand screen shows as playing at 128kbps. I'm not sure how TuneIn handle things, including their live text and slide shows that differ from BBCiPlayer. majones's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13029 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
