[SlimDevices: Plugins] Best Android remote control app.

2014-02-10 Thread Imagewerx

I've tried all the freebies. The official Logitech one was taking up to
20 seconds to change tracks and the volume control was next to useless
(might be my phone).Went for Squeezer in the end, instant track change
and a half decent file browser. The volume control was better, but not
perfect by a long shot. What it lacks which I find odd is the ability to
skip backwards or forwards to the next track with a single button push
like you can from the normal Logitech remote.

So is there one that does have track forward and back,a good volume
control (if it's not my phone) and the ability to eject the USB device
without having to use the touch controls on the SBT itself? It's being
used in my car,so would be a godsend if it could be made a hide away and
controlled entirely from my phone or an Android tablet.

Chris.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl

My SB3 IR remote has been acting up recently. Now it rarely sends IR
commands to my SB3. Is there a specific IR code or function name that's
generated when I Press+Hold Sleep key of the SB3 physical remote? I've
been using this remote to put my LMS server to sleep via the
SrvPowerControl plugin and would like to map this key function to the
Harmony Smart Control Remote I just bought.

Thanks...

That's probably asking too much, as I on the other hand don't know the
Qnap boxes. I don't know what's installed there in terms of dev tools.
But with a little luck one of the NAS boxes I have at the office is
running a similar Perl/OS combination. I might give that a try.

What I'm after is replacing the slow pure perl sorting code with some C
module. On the Raspberry Pi I tested this with this cut down search time
for the artist abba by 3 seconds (sorting about 10x faster). It's about
the same percentage on the Mac, but much less noticeable :-).

Little surprise there: the number of tracks per catalog is limited to
100k. Unfortunately this means for you that the plugin will be little
useful (unless you can exclude 2/3 of your collection by genre...)

Heh... I'm still learning LMS code :-). Turns out disabling those

Will be fixed in the next release.

The response to lsusb is:

Code:

#lsusb
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
  Bus 003 Device 002: ID 4852:0003

I don't know what that is saying about the connection to the DAC

The -t switch sheds more light:

Code:

lsusb -t
  /: Bus 04.Port 1: Dev 1, Class=root_hub, Driver=uhci_hcd/2p, 12M
  /: Bus 03.Port 1: Dev 1, Class=root_hub, Driver=uhci_hcd/2p, 12M
  |__ Port 1: Dev 2, If 0, Class=audio, Driver=snd-usb-audio, 12M
  |__ Port 1: Dev 2, If 1, Class=audio, Driver=snd-usb-audio, 12M
  |__ Port 1: Dev 2, If 2, Class=HID, Driver=usbhid, 12M
  |__ Port 1: Dev 2, If 3, Class=HID, Driver=usbhid, 12M
  /: Bus 02.Port 1: Dev 1, Class=root_hub, Driver=uhci_hcd/2p, 12M
  /: Bus 01.Port 1: Dev 1, Class=root_hub, Driver=ehci_hcd/6p, 480M

Note the reference to snd-usb-audio, but it looks the same whether
it's working or not.

The response to aplay -l:

I get a lot more if I try squeezelite -l

Code:

# squeezelite -l
