[SlimDevices: Plugins] Best Android remote control app.
I've tried all the freebies. The official Logitech one was taking up to 20 seconds to change tracks and the volume control was next to useless (might be my phone).Went for Squeezer in the end, instant track change and a half decent file browser. The volume control was better, but not perfect by a long shot. What it lacks which I find odd is the ability to skip backwards or forwards to the next track with a single button push like you can from the normal Logitech remote. So is there one that does have track forward and back,a good volume control (if it's not my phone) and the ability to eject the USB device without having to use the touch controls on the SBT itself? It's being used in my car,so would be a godsend if it could be made a hide away and controlled entirely from my phone or an Android tablet. Chris. But If you have a easy step by step process i can try to help ! That's probably asking too much, as I on the other hand don't know the Qnap boxes. I don't know what's installed there in terms of dev tools. But with a little luck one of the NAS boxes I have at the office is running a similar Perl/OS combination. I might give that a try. What I'm after is replacing the slow pure perl sorting code with some C module. On the Raspberry Pi I tested this with this cut down search time for the artist abba by 3 seconds (sorting about 10x faster). It's about the same percentage on the Mac, but much less noticeable :-). -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

That does seem to be the case for what's in the current playlist. Little surprise there: the number of tracks per catalog is limited to 100k. I wanted to stream a synced spotify playlist this weekend for a Party from my Vortexbox to a local player and a touch. Until I found out that multiple players (even if synced) is not supported via spotify. What I thought of as a possible workaround would be to set-up another local player (e.g. squeezelite) running on the server as the only player playing spotify; and then use wavinput as the source for the 2 synced players.
