OK. Going back to this one after a break. Big kudos to Man in a Van for helping me before. I take a look at it. Spend a bit of time (reinstalling the whole OS is not really an option, as the Pi functions fine otherwise. I don't want to go through the hassle of a "start from scratch". Does anybody have a way to set the password without using the web front end. My web front end is definitely having trouble on the Advanced Settings > Spotify tab. Tried from several machines (no browser on the Pi itself). This is on a Raspberry Pi running Raspian. I will try that. Sadly I can't provide a log from the time the Plugin stopped working, because I set the logfile limit to 10MB and that fills up quickly. Strangely, it has now stopped working altogether again. Discovery is not picking up any CCA despite the fact that I restarted the Plugin... Adding the aac codec results in hls streams not playing, just a cycle of restarts after a few seconds. Strange as the spec claims aac plus. For stand-alone devices, I wish it could be possible to have a simple EQ feature (even bass and treble would be useful)! I'm not sure whether this means anything, but I'd guess the "ssl fail"
could have some impact? Although that happens after the Player is
ejected, so maybe it'S not important? I have set the "remove Player"
setting to 30 btw, but don't think that made a difference. The
"Wohnzimmer_Cast" is still running and I can access it from Android.

Yes you can, its in the LMS webui. Go to -> settings->Advanced-> command
line Interface -> change your port.

Version 0.37.1 working fine on Synology DS2013 [w/ DMS 5.2-5644] on LMS 7.9 (official Syno beta package 7.9.0 - 1433513811 @ Mon Jun 8 04:20:15 UTC 2015). No SSL install needed and no issue. I first remove the plugin before updating because LMS is asking for reboot each time I go to Settings/plugins. But Youtube plugin is not the culprit for this, (maybe a LMS 7.9 bug ? or a cache file(s) issue ?) I should change that one day as it is a bit confusing: "none" means "info" level for all trace streams. I've published a dev-5 which should help, I hope. The Cast device is
kept as a valid player as long as it responds to the SSL connection
keep-alive (sent every 3 sec), even if it never answers to the UPnP
searches. This only applies when the player is on in LMS. When you set
it off in LMS, the SSL connection is torn down and the UPnP failed scan
discover rules applies again. There are also various internal code
simplification for receiver application launch and less (!) deadlocks

Hi Gary, Thanks for the reply. I suspected it wasn't more widespread, or I'd have seen other threads or topics, but thanks for the confirmation. Earlier today I rebooted the VB; restarted LMS. That made no difference. Just a few moments ago, I went into the LMS settings>Spotify plugin settings> re-entered the username and password... but no success. The message back is: Error reading headers: Server closed connection without sending any data back at /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/CPAN/Net/HTTP/Methods.pm line 306. ...propagated at /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/CPAN/Net/HTTP/NB.pm line 32. That doesn't mean much to me, except to demonstrate that something's not happy somewhere. I'm not sure how I would uninstall/re-install the plugin - or enable/disable - to clear any cache, and then start again with it? It had run quite successfully, with no problems at all, for months and months. I can't think that I've done anything to stop it working. Other things can retry and get connection back without the reboot, so that's why one thinks that "the internet is working" when it may NOT be working for LMS. p.s. OK. Back in the connected world. Gary - I wish I knew why something like that works when a Vortexbox/LMS restart doesn't, but thanks again, that did sort the problem. (On the flip side, the router restart seems to have given the VB a new IP address, and only the older players find it automatically. I'll need to go round the rest and restart them now. Fingers crossed. I've pushed a version 0.1.0.0-dev-6 and I'll leave it there for a while. Now that I understand better how Chromecast device works, I need to do some changes in my current architecture, or I'll continue fighting with timeout and locksdown. The current version 'works' but should not be shaked to much as it is easy to put in lock conditions.
