Hi philippe_44,

Thanks for your quick reply.

OK - it's running on the same RPi - so it seems strange the connection
should be lost - any ideas?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Android TV and sb apps

2016-05-12 Thread goodhur

AndroidTV has a native SB player. It works well. The biggest issue is
controlling it on the TV via the remote. Squeezer works mostly with the
remote. Except the on feature you what. You need a mouse to full screen
the album art. Also the daydream screen saver can only be set to 1 hour
max.

Xsqueeze via Kodi works (need the Mac address of you SB player and
disable kodi playback). However the now playing screen isn't great.

Not sure if that will be added to Squeezer, but Squeeze Ctrl does
support sending volume commands to fixed volume devices.

Hi Pinkdot

Here's the DB version of your "new old" test server (that is the same as
the official Synology beta package):

Code:

Datenbankversion: DBD::SQLite 1.34_01 (sqlite 3.7.7.1)

I installed your new 1061 test version. Unfortunately the issue is not
solved, it crashes again, when displaying special characters. Again
nothing in the server.log.

2016-05-12 Thread castalla

I've tried setting up upnpbridge on picoreplayer LMS. The binaries
offered are arm5 and arm6. Both appear to run.

However, a device which works on a debian LMS fails to produce any sound
on picore LMS.

I suspect it's something to do with the Tiny Linux which picore uses.

Any ideas? Anybody tried picore LMS and upnpbridge?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] New plugin, where to start?

2016-05-12 Thread adhawkins

Ok, not sure, but I think I might have made a little progress.

I was hosting the binaries on github, and the URL in the repo was
https://

I tried changing it to http, and started getting 403 errors downloading
from github.

So, I moved it to my own server on an http URL. After much deleting of
cache and the like, it now at least seems to have installed correctly.

Is there anything that can be done to enable downloads via HTTPS to work
correctly? There does seem to be something amiss.

I wonder if someone else can try installing from the plugin URL:

http://software.gently.org.uk/slim-plugins/repo.xml

and let me know how they get on?

I think the plugin is largely in a working state now, would be
interested in anyone else giving it a go to see how they get on. Perhaps
the best way to do that would be a new post announcing its
availability?

Thanks

Andy

Ok. That might be an issue as I might end up putting the repo on to
GitHub, and I expect they're pretty much https everywhere these day.
It's sheer fluke that my 'software.gently...' domain doesn't force a
redirection to https...

Certainly not in the one I've just set up today. It was a clean install,
all I did was set music and playlist directories, then try to enter the
plugin repo into the plugins page. Couldn't be much more vanilla
really.

Installed from the Debian package if it makes any difference...

Automatically? Might be difficult. You could try to set artist picture
and album cover folders to the same folder. I have no idea how well that
would behave...

If you don't need the automatic assignment, then you can manually copy
artist images to the album's folder as cover.jpg.

However, I'm now back at the stage where it gets added to the server
disabled, in the 'updates available' section. If I tick that and apply,
it disappears until I restart the server.

Will take a step back tonight and look over everything to make sure I'm
not doing anything stupid.

Well, I would do that, but the version in the new VM I've just created
won't let me add my repo...it just doesn't save it.

Just gave it a try and installed your test version. LMS does *not* crash
with this version, the special characters including cyrillic are
properly displayed on the old displays. So it has to be an LMS Update
issue. Thanks again for all your efforts.

Ummm, probably not. That install.xml file was just copied from another
plugin and modified, so I may well have copied one that had an importer.
I'll try removing it.

I'm pretty sure I used a web site to generate it. Is there an issue with
it, or are you just checking I didn't re-use someone else's?

Rather than do that, I think I'll just generate a new VM and re-install
from scratch.

If it works Ok in that VM, then I'm happy I guess, unless there's some
special steps I need to take when the plugin is uninstalled to ensure I
clean up?

Thanks -

I have found the import - but how can I export a favorites folder?

Also, I did not try it, but does the import imports into a new folder,
or replaces all existing favorites?

I would prefer not to, as I would like to have them as a separate menu
item (preferably under Radios).

Also, in a plugin, I could more easily reload them in a new
installation.

There might be something else I've missed? Any chance you can have
another look?

I don't get it. Looking at install.xml again: remove the importmodule
value. You don't have an importer, do you?

The id: did you create that UUID yourself? Or did you get it somewhere?

- go to Settings/Information, write down locations for prefs and cache
- Shut down LMS
- delete cache.db from the cache folder
- remove any reference to your plugin from (prefs)/plugin/state.prefs
- remove any trace of your plugin in (cache)/InstalledPlugins and
(cache)/DownloadedPlugins

- restart LMS, try again
