Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: AirPlay Bridge = integrate AirPlay devices with LMS (squeeze2raop)
I've uploaded 0.1.2.0 which solves the LMS server switching problem. You can now switch between servers or set a fix LMS address for each player (see parameter). This is still a development version ... You still cannot run the plugin on 2 machines at the same time, unless you make sure that the same AirPlay device is not enabled on the both computers. Normal use is to select one computer to run & configure the plugin, then now you can move the "virtual" players back and forth between LMS servers, without stopping / restarting the server or the plugin. More specifically, tablet mode only works on devices with it's smallest screen dimension being 600dp or larger. This generally works out to about 7". Absolutely you are correct that it doesn't have the full functionality of my full LMS SugarCube plugin :) However the point of the approach is to use MusicIP to basically create mixes that can be taken offline. Good question :-) I've always felt that LMS has been better suited to a Linux environment than a Windows environment. It's primarily PERL-based with a MySql or MySQLLite database, both of which are native to Linux and neither of which is native to Windows. It just seemed the right approach. It's also handy to be able to shutdown and backup the whole VM. As I'm also running a domain in the house, my 2012R2 is the domain controller and hosts DNS and DHCP, and I don't have DNS forwarders set up on DNS, I rely on the standard configuration of root hints. In essence, it's a standard 2012R2 server and a standard Ubuntu install with a standard LMS install. No tweaking required anywhere. LMS is bombproof, I can run it for 2-3 months quite happily, never having to restart. In fact I accidentally left a playlist of my entire collection running when I went away for a weekit was still happily playing upon my return. Very odd that WHS is good but higher spec system has problems. This has happened before as it seems older systems with a few cores meant processing was more sequential and newer system with many cores means more processing in parallel resulting in odd behaviour. The replacement HLS.pm deals with the DNS issue and increase many of the other timeouts - it may be worth tweaking some of the settings in the code to increae the amount of audio buffered by the plugin to see if it changes anything. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Since I get perfect output from the old, less powerful WHS box I've focused my attentions on the Server 2012 box - I only built it because WHS v1 had gone out of support and so I thought it appropriate to replace it with a more "modern" server. I use it to backup the various household PCs/laptops, to record IP camera video to, to stream ripped DVDs/Blu-rays and of course to host my beloved MP3 collection and to listen to internet radio... I've disabled the W2012 DNS server and changed the DNS address to on the server (and the router) to Google's 8.8.8.8; I tried using a DCHP assigned local address rather than a static one (for no other reason than I was playing around with the DNS settings); I also disabled the uPnP plug-in. The net net is I still get the same behaviour - lots of initial buffering, gets better after 10-20mins but sometimes the entire stream drops too. Am going to investigate bpa's earlier suggestion re socketwrapper in more detail - mainly because I've run out of other things to try! So glad this stuff is all working again. Really appreciate the work that goes into keeping this alive, particularly in face of constant messing around from the BBC end. :) drmatt's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59498 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Thanks for the clarifications :) You forget/haven't gotten around to the users which are using Linux with either local or remote files. Example: - My files reside on my NAS - Location is shared through SMB/CIFS - LMS + MusicIP runs on a separate machine (e.g. Vortexbox) - NAS share is mounted to /mnt/music - LMS + MusicIP point to /mnt/music This situation is actually identical if the music is stored locally on the Linux box, as Linux mounts all filesystems, whether they're local or remote, in the same way Main System: Touch; Marantz SR-5004; TMA Premium 905; TMA Premium 901; BK Monolith+ FF; HDI Dune Smart D1; Pioneer PDP-LX5090H iPad 32GB Wifi + Squeezepad (local playback activated) Acer Iconia Tab A700 + Squeezeplayer Wandboard Duallite + CSOS, integrated LMS activated bakker_be's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30369 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105644 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Michael, I really appreciate you hosting Triode's plugins, but when I got to "triodeplugins.herger.net" I only get the message "Thanks for your interest". No files, no .XML Did I miss something? No, you don't need to go there nor see anything in there. Just go to Settings/Plugins and install whatever you need. It's part of the main repository file. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Your running LmsRepack now and that's no longer supported, as you might know. I do have plans to give it another try for ARM- and x86_64 based servers, which would include your DS1512+. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AirPlay bridge: use airplay devices from LMS (experimental)
It's been my experience too that 2 bridge plugins installed on 2 LMS on the network will discover the same devices, and confusion ensues. You could disable some players in each running plugin, to dedicate LMS1 to players near the Gym, and LMS2 to players near the Lobby. That should fix the random location at startup. I don't think connecting a player to another LMS server can work. But changing the enabled/disabled state on a device in the plugins should have the same effect, albeit slower. 3 SB 3 Libratone Loop, Zipp Mini iPeng (iPhone + iPad) LMS 7.9 (linux) with plugins: CD Player, WaveInput, Triode's BBC iPlayer by bpa IRBlaster by Gwendesign (Felix) Server Power Control by Gordon Harris Smart Mix, Music Walk With Me, What Was That Tune? by Michael Herger PowerSave by Jason Holtzapple Song Info, Song Lyrics by Erland Isaksson AirPlay Bridge by philippe_44 WeatherTime by Martin Rehfeld Auto Dim Display, SaverSwitcher, ContextMenu by Peter Watkins. epoch1970's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16711 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105114 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

from looking at the log, it looks like the bridge tries the switch server command, but it puts the ip address that it's already connected to instead of the ip address it's supposed to connect to. crewxp's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=39943 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105114 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AirPlay bridge: use airplay devices from LMS (experimental)
I just found out about this awesome plugin a few weeks ago and just recently got everything up! But my airplay bridge players *can't seem to connect to the right servers*. Normal players switch servers just fine, but my bridged ones start up stuck on what seems like a random server. Changing it from an android app or the web interface doesn't change anything. To get the player switched to a different server, I have to power off the squeeze server it's connected to until it finally connects to the right one. Have you any ideas as to what could be causing this? I have attached the bridge log below, the squeeze log shows no errors if I click on log in the information tab. Example: 192.168.100.149 [LMS SERVER 1] [HOSTS BRIDGED AV-GYM & AV-STUDIO] 192.168.100.152 [LMS SERVER 2] [HOSTS BRIDGED AV-LOBBY] 192.168.100.153 [LMS SERVER 3] 192.168.100.172 [LMS SERVER 4] When they all start up (at the same time), the AV-GYM, LOBBY, or STUDIO connects the virtual bridge player to a random LMS SERVER X. Clicking change player to [designated server i click] asks me if im sure, then doesn't do anything; no matter how many times I try or if I try my app I use. I have to power down the LMS SERVER the virtual player is connected to in order to get it to connect to a different one. -Is there a way I can fix this? Ideally, I would love to be able to switch the bridged player's server. -If not, is there a way I can manually specify which LMS SERVER to connect the bridge to? *THANK YOU!
