Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Music & Artist Information plugin

2016-06-09 Thread adamdea

OK here is my problem.
If I click on
"Schumann: Frauenliebe und -leben; Brahms: 8 Songs Op. 57 (2008)" it
lists as artists Johannes Brahms, Lorraine Hunt Lieberson, Julius Drake
[if I click on artist infromation. biography I get Lorraine Hunt
Lieberson
If I click on Julius Drake I get a list of albums. If I click on any of
those albuns I get a list of artists for example if I click on Britten:
Canticles I get a list of artists. If I click on artisit information I
get a biography of Benjamin Btritten. The only way I seem to get to
artist information for Julius Drake is if I find him somewhare under
related artists then if I click on him there I get the biography etc for
him. If I click on a particular artist, would it be possible to get that
artist's info as an option along with the various artists. Would I be
right in thinking that only the album artist ever comes up for artist
information?
I am using a pretty recent LMS 7.9 running on a QNAP NAS.

Thanks Michael
I'll check the method you suggested. I see the problem with band aid,
but could it be done to allow conductor, composer, band tags?

Is it necessary, that MusicIP server is running every time, when you do
a MusicIP-Mix with LMS? This means, the NAS must be running AND the PC
too?
Or is it only necessary that the PC is running when you setup MusicIP at
LMS? Means when do a MusicIP-Mix with LMS/NAS, the PC does not have to
be necessary active?

Yeah! mmserver is starting before LMS. and also with some values it does
not work

i am out of ideas, what i can do - only possibilitiy i see, is, to setup
my server with older server-software as a test (OpenMediaVault 2.1 /
Debian wheezy (32bit) instead of OpenMediaVault 3.0 / Debian jessie

But before this i go into holiday in a few days :)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Spicefly SugarCube] MusicIP can be ondifferent server?

2016-06-09 Thread bakker_be

You are 100% correct. Spicefly Sugarcube even has a feature to allow you
to translate the path your music is found at (Dynamic Path Conversion).
Example:

- LMS is running on your NAS
- Music is on your NAS
- LMS sees your music on e.g. /mnt/music/
- MusicIP server is running on a PC
- MusicIP sees your music at \\NAS\Music
- Enable Dynamic Path Conversion
- In "DPC (LMS) - Set #1" enter /mnt/music/
- In "DPC (MusicIP) - Set #1" enter \\NAS\Music

Two sets are available, making sure that LMS knows where to find the
song MusicIP tells it to play next.

No, the behavior should be like on an actual SqueezePlay-based
Squeeezebox (Touch, Radio or Controller), at least in iPeng 9. It's "as
designed".
But is the small screen version maybe iPeng 9 and the other one iPeng
Classic?

The server will only show one in the normal menu hierarchy if you put
both into the "My Apps" menu, you have to put one into "Radios".
There's a discussion about it in the thread about the re-launched
Logitech Spotify plugin.

The old iPeng version retrieved an "unofficial" version of the "My Apps"
menu by requesting that menu when you open it which shows both, I
believe. This doesn't work in iPeng 9 because iPeng 9 (like the
Squeezeboxes) has a configurable menu hierarchy so it needs to retrieve
the full menu structure from the server and in that menu structure the
server only returns one menu item with the same name in "My Apps",
usually the 3rd party one.

When you click a track with different contributors, you should get a
track info page with links to them. I see eg. the album artist as well
as the particular track's artist. The "Artist Info" for the track is for
the track artist only. But you can follow any of the above links to get
to that artist and get information there. Not obvious, but possible.

I'll have to see whether I could include artist information for all
contributors of a track. Might become quite busy with tracks like "Do
they know it's Christmas?" :-)

Damn! I don't know, why it does not work!

I am using OMV 64bit and LMS works fine - except MusicIP.

I have installed Wine and playonlinux. With playonlinux it is very easy
to install Windows-MusicIP-Mixer. I have access to OMV/Debian with
RealVNC and can use the MIP-Mixer as i use it in Windows natively. With
this i have analysed my whole music collection (round about 50.000
tracks) and stored the analysed data into the id3tags

Again, can you tell me, how do you use MusicIP in LMS? Maybe i only
don't recognice how to use it. Is there a special button in the LMS

Hi

on my setup there is nothing ticked.

When i listen to some double / triple artist i'll klick on the
artist/composer on the right pane where i want to see some further infos
and the left pane shows me all the Albums from that contributorand i had

Just tried it with some tracks where albumartist and artist are
different - maybe its "easier" when you tried that with some
"1startist;2ndartist" tracks.

I'm storing my music files on OMV, but I'm using Vortexbox for my LMS
and MusicIP. Vortexbox 2.4 is a 64 bit system and mip works (one command
install, get the advanced mip blue web page).

Were you able to get the genpuid tags to archive OK in Wine/playon ?

I used Smart Mix for years and I don't think I knew what "Don't stop the

When your playlist or your album/CD end, smartmix generated a new
playlist, based on your actual playlist. in this way, the music never
ends ... every time, your playlist go to the end, it mix a new one

I think it is more easy, when you use wine (and maybe playonlinux too)
and use with that the MusicIP-Mixer-Windows-Version
In this way you don't need to install a VM (which requires more
resources i think).
I have done this with Debian Jessie

A question: do you run Debian 32bit or 64bit?

I am running Debian Jessie 64bit - and cannot use MusicIP, also i don't
get Error-Logs anymore. MusicIP is 32bit-Software and maybe that's the
reason, why it do not work.
Can you tell (and better show me with a picture) how do you use MusicIP
with LMS? Is there a specific button or anything else?

You can create the Genpuid and store the analysis in the music tags with
the Windows version of Music IP mixer. On my OMV Debian NAS I set up a
windows vm, copied my music over and set it to work.

MusicIp headless reads the music as mixable and I don't need to worry
about losing the db.

I click for information on a track I get two artists listed. I click

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicIP - analyse on one computer, serve on different?

2016-06-09 Thread OleHB

What you can do: You can analyse the tracks and write it to the
track-metadata (id3tag). This you can do on your notebook.
After that LMS with MusicIP-Plugin can read and import this metadata.
So, you don't have to do the analysis at the same machine.

But critical point: when LMS is working with a non-x86-CPU/-Server - id
don't work and analysis is nearly worthless

[SlimDevices: Plugins] [Spicefly SugarCube] MusicIP can be on different server?

2016-06-09 Thread Rainer M Krug
Hi

Just to confirm: If I use the Spicefly SugarCube plugin for MusicIP, the
MusicIP server (headless) can be on a different computer - but when I
use the LMS MusicIP, it has to be on the same - is this correct?

I am asking, because having the MusicIP server on the same server as my
LMS is not an option for me as the LMS runs on an ARM architecture based
server on which MusicIP does not run.

Thanks,

Rainer

This would use (under Linux) presumably a MiP headless installation -
correct? And the writing of the id to the tags, is done from MiP headless?

On the computer on which LMS is running, you can than use genpuid to
re-create the MiP database.

But I still have to install MiP headless on the LMS machine - correct?
And is this possible as this is an ARM architecture?

I would very much like to keep the LMS on the small Pogoplug, as I can
leave it on 24/7 without using to much energy.

Rather than creating filters I fingerprint and archive only the

only scan 5 directories with MIP. I guess this is not ideal but I am

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicIP - analyse on one computer, serve on different?

2016-06-09 Thread DJanGo

Hi,

its the same story (other Hardware) on my side.

What i found is:

There is no way to move or change the mip database.
You need (AFAIK) a system with the same paths to the files as on your
lms.

i'll try to use my bigboyhardcore Notepbook and MusicIP Mixer to analyse
the files and store the result into the metatags of the file and want
(not done right now) use 'genpuid'
to read the tags on my lms system and build the db there.

Sorry my actual state is "work in progress" or trial and error.

Hi

I've changed the method to use the Android Environment variable
DIRECTORY_MUSIC. This was pushed to the store lastnight so should be
available now, let me know if this works any better for you.

Meanwhile, I'll do some investigation on Android logging on the device

The old Google code repository URL is no longer accessible by LMS. I am
in the process of moving the repository but have been swamped with other
stuff. I'll try to finish the move at the weekend.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicIP - analyse on one computer, serve on different?

2016-06-09 Thread Rainer M Krug
Hi

I have my LMS on a Pogoplug E02 (ARMv5te) running Debian and obviously
can not analyse my tracks on it.

But I have a notebook whci I could use for the analysis.

Is it possible to

1) install the MusicIP server on ARMv5te architecture so that it *only*
functions as a server for LMS and

2) analyse my tracks on the notebook (Uduntu) and move the database to
the Pogoplug running the LMS server?

Thanks,

Rainer

The error only appears with upnpbridge players.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spicefly SugarCube for Android

2016-06-09 Thread rlem

For me the songs and playlist also don't get copied. (Sony Xperia z5
compact, Android 6.0.1, SD card present).
Connection is OK, and playlist does get generated, but the file copy
process is over in a few seconds.
Seems almost a permission problem, because why would the playlist (m3u?)
also be missing?

Please let me know if I can test something or have to suppy a log!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicIP filters in headless mode

2016-06-09 Thread rlem

Hi, I'm in the same boat: running MIP headless on Ubuntu 12.04, so I
-am- able to run Wine to create filters and edit the default.m3lib, but
even in this case I get the "0 songs" message in the webinterface & a
non-responsive "Reload Cache" button.
@SlimChances - so, you're saying you can edit the .m3lib (create
filters) in Wine and write them to cache in the Headless version? Then,
I'm doing something wrong...

Fortunately the first tests with MIP and Spicefly in LMS are pretty
promising, so that helps coping with the loss of SmartMix!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)

2016-06-09 Thread Michael Herger

The application (a heavily modified squeelite base) is querying LMS to
gather track info and this is the error you see. It means one way or the
other that LMS does not get the info, so this the reason of the error

That error would be shown if there was no known client object in LMS for
this player. Could it be there is some confusion about MAC addresses again?
