I just lost the old spotify app :(. I finally have spotty set up and it seems to work fine. I had some trouble installing everything on my Raspberry Pi though, and thought I would share my "solutions". First with how to install the 7.9.1 nightly build. I ended up following the "Installing LMS (squeezebox) server" of this guide: http://www.gerrelt.nl/RaspberryPi/wordpress/tutorial-stand-alone-squeezebox-server-and-player-for-bbq/ substituting 7.9.0 with 7.9.1. Second I had trouble figuring out how to get IO::Socket::SSL installed. I ended up following the steps here https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=49735=386673 I am not sure if those are exactly right, but things seem to be working now. I was thinking, maybe instructions on how to do these things (in particular the SSL stuff caused me trouble) should be added to the top post of this thread? I am sure the thread has better directions than those in this post, but the thread is already 51 pages, and too much work to go through. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce - Song info plugin for FIP radio
SSL related. Perhaps LMS not handling a redirect or spotting that the :443 is SSL port and tried to connect with http ... or (implied by the error text) treating the :443 as part of hostnsme and getting in a real mess. Since it works with mysqueeze then maybe this is a fix that Michael Herger can copy over to LMS. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce - Song info plugin for FIP radio
Paul, thanks. I continued testing. Basically I can get the plugin to produce the cover-art all the time, as long as under Advanced>performance>re-size art work is set to Squeezebox things are fine. I'm not the only person with the issue as I can see from a few posts back. When it is working for you, is that the option you have on, or are you using LMS to re-size. If you switch to LMS does it stop for you too? What I can confirm is that the url for the image is always displayed in the logging, so I am thinking this may be an LMS issue rather than plugin. I can't leave the re-size on my-squeezebox.com as it then doesn't get the aspect ration and size right for everything else! BTW all other stations cover art works in LMS setting that I use - also checked Dandelion and that was fine as is Paradise and BBC plugin. Would be really useful to know your set up - as otherwise it points to an installation mis-config at my end - but would also be the same with the previous poster. I didn't have to rebuild the pi, all that was required was a reindex of the catalogue, which takes about 35mins for 3K flac albums. Pinkdot, how about Updates instead of Repack? Any way at all to get Spottify working on my DS213? Maybe in the near future? So I've stopped running LMS and have started running Repack, and streaming local files goes just fine. Should I quit Repack and start the original LMS once more? Or can I just keep running Repack? Not really sure what Repack does exactly, except for enabling Spotty (which doesn't work for my DS213 apparantly) Mmm, I'm really not happy about Spotify quiting Squeezebox support. I mostly used Spotify instead of my own local content on my Duet. I've read posts from people claiming to end their Spotify account, as a sort of statement. But the fact is, I really want my Spotify. And as much as I love my Squeezebox Duet, I'm afraid that the hardware is going to be the one that needs to change. I'm not sure about Raspberry Pi, I'm not that tech savvy. I was thinking more about a Chromecast Audio, with a wired adapter. I've read that there are issues streaming from DS Audio however. Anybody any recommendations about using a chromecast to stream both Spotify ánd local DS content? P.S. I really hope to get some form of Spotify up and running on my Squeezebox again though Repelstale's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=53198 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107180 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

The main advantage is the running in RAM, pull the plug and shut it down without faffing around. I also find the Max2Play web gui is too busy and too bright (tablets are to blame for the latter I think, as a lot of sites are like this). Also, when Stephen used to post here a response to a query was fairly prompt, nowadays there is a desire to drive all queries to their own forum and some folk have to wait a while for an answer; if one posts a question here, help is on hand from the many sad old lurkers :):p:rolleyes: who need more emoji. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.1.0
Me again. i just figured out, that spotty is kind of killing my whole network. To disable Spotty solved this ;) To explain better: when spotty is running as a plugin, some of my other devices are disconnecting and reconnectin in a minutely frequency. I have at least 30 devices (Homeautomation) in my network. Also speed of the whole network is decreased drasticaly. What is spotty doing that the original Spotify plugin didn´t? Brodcast/Multicast? hi jouteur, SqueezePlug has nothing to do with piCorePlayer. SqueezePlug was a separate LMS/squeezelite distribution way back, it might have been one of the first. It was incorporated into one of the other products to give it LMS capability, but I am not sure if it still used that way anymore. regards Greg Greg Erskine's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7403 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107615 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
