Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.5.x - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox

2018-10-31 Thread Michael Herger

When I go into the Spotty settings I'm unable to add my account, "There
has been a problem running the Spotty helper application. Please make
sure you have the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime (32-bit!) installed on
your system."

Could you please double-check you have installed the 32-bit version (NOT
64!)?

There is something wrong, the helper is crashing all the time

1- try to use the -static version
2- do not set "additional debugging". Just clean the file play something
then copy / paset the log and email it to me (see plugin page) or add it
here as a zipped attached file

I'm trying to get this working on my server running WHS 2011.

When I go into the Spotty settings I'm unable to add my account, "There

I've clicked on the link and installed Visual C++ Redistributable for

Certainly a better reason for muting than my weird example above. Mute
(local only) rather than Pause (all players). Great idea. Wish I could
have it both ways though: mute locally or globally.

Ah, that makes sense. You have sync'd players and only want to mute one
of them. I have a prototype working and I will include this feature in
the next version.

Well, here's a weird example for you: Radio Paradise. With most internet
radio, including for example the Radio Paradise 320kbps stream, Pause is
usually the same Stop or Off, and when you turn it on again you'll pick
up the stream again wherever it is in real time. But in the case of the
Radio Paradise FLAC streams, which are downloaded in 30-minute blocks,
pausing and restarting them often results in unexpected behavior.

It may stay in the same block of tracks, it may play a new block with a
different theme, or it may fail to start from the Play button and I have
to relaunch it from My Apps. I suppose this depends on how long you have
it paused and other factors, but I haven't spent much time thinking
about how it works. When listening to RP I usually just turn down the
volume or remove my headphones when I get a phone call, wishing I had a
mute button.

The powerpc binaries were not updated when support was added for opus or
dsd.
Only 'these'
and 'macos x64'
Those opus streams play fine on my sb3 which is the same hardware as an
sb2 with the latest 7.9.2 on an intel box.

I use the build that came with Dietpi, but you may be on to something.
Yesterday I played a several albums to iPeng on my iPhone through Spotty
and they did not stop prematurely.
I will look at different builds for squeezelite, but that will be over
the weekend probably.
