I tried to find something on that but couldn't.

Just check the "Extension Downloader" plugin up in your list, restart LMS.

You basically disabled the user friendly plugin manager by disabling
that plugin.

It's not you. It's how Android 8+ handles bluetooth media controls.
Basically, the last app to play audio is the app that actually receives
the media button presses. So, as I mentioned in a previous post,
Squeeze Ctrl initiates and then immediate stops playing an empty audio
track so that it can receive the button presses. However, once you
press play, SB Player now becomes the last app to play audio so it gets
the media button presses instead of Squeeze Ctrl. Fortunately, it's a
problem I already solved for pre-Android 5.0 devices, so I should be
able to re-enable it for 8.0+ devices. It requires an update to SB
Player.

It's just really annoying how Google gives you more flexible methods
that worked for 3 versions and then decides to revert back to the old
ways.

2019-02-13 Thread jstraw

I'd like to describe a behavior that I can't seem to configure my way
out of. I launch Squeeze Ctrl and the appropriate meta data appears on
my car's display. I can numerous tracks and the data updates as
expected. If I use the display or the steering wheel controls to skip a
track, it works just once. It advances, the subsequent track (and
following tracks) will not display meta data, and I can't advance tracks
anymore after that first time.

If I then go into SB Player and disconnect and reconnect, the music will
stop and then resume as expected. When I reopen Squeeze Ctrl, the new
meta data displays, but the whole cycle starts over. I can use the car's
controls once, then no more.

Is there some configuration for docking/launching that I don't have
right? Is something else going on?

Yes, the notification is always shown - similar to SqueezeCtrl. I could
have it only appear only when there are tracks in the queue, but I'm not

That's a very good question! Headphones and DAC perhaps? But even in
that case, why would you have headphones on while the DAC is playing -
you'd inevitably be in the same room as the DAC. Maybe 'either/or'
would simplify things.

I did add an option to select which player gets the visualisations, and
it seems to work ok, but in all my testing the named players have had
their MAC addresses changed numerous times, and LMS did get a bit
confused - playlists swapping between players etc. This might be a
'feature too far' after all. Perhaps the best approach would be to just
let the user select whether squeezelite plays on the internal interface
OR the external interface. It would still use most of what I've coded,
but the interface selection would be a radio button group instead.

2019-02-13 Thread murkey

This is the first time I've ever posted anything, so if I'm doing
something wrong please let me know.

Yesterday I upgraded LMS 7.7.5 to 7.9.2. LMS resides on an iMac running
10.13.6. The Spotty plugin is v2.7.3. I am using a Logitech
Touch(Firmware 7.80-16754) that uses the wireless connection to attach
to the in house network. As long as I'm logged into the Mac, Spotty
works as it did under LMS 7.7.5. If I log out and start Spotty on the
Touch, the screen looks normal(artwork, controls...etc display, slider
bar moves) but there is no sound and an error message displays in
server.log. See below. When this happens all other apps and non-spotify
music still work fine on the Touch. If I logon to the Mac, stop and
start LMS, everything is back to normal. LMS Status tab is set to
'Automatically start server when system boots'. Please let me know what
I have to do so that I don't have to stop and start LMS before using
Spotty.

Thanks
Murray

PS
I don't know if this a clue or not, but I couldn't cut and paste the
contents of the Information tab from LMS because that window kept
'blinking'.

Haha - yes, you're right, it would annoy me to know that visualisers
'half work', so I'll have to think of some sort of strategy. I'm not
sure there is a 'perfect' strategy when there's a choice of player
configurations; Internal, or External, or Neither, or Both, and when
either player can be started or stopped at any time. Maybe I need a

Version 2.1.0 has been submitted to store and uploaded. The legacy

New Feature:

- Now includes support for multiple player instances. You can now

I consider this "experimental" as I do not currently have multiple audio

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] How to enable visualisations in Jivelite?

2019-02-13 Thread chill

It took me a while to figure out that jivelite gets its MAC address from
the eth0 interface, whereas I was giving squeezelite the wlan0 MAC
address. Fixed that now, and now I have the visualisers working.

So to answer my own questions:
- If I start jivelite while a visualiser-enabled player is running on
the same MAC address, then the visualisers work.
- If I then switch to my other squeezelite instance (MAC address differs
by 1), then I get the visualiser options in the 'Now Playing Views', but
they don't work. I guess jivelite has already decided to use the shared
memory offered by the first player.
- If I switch to a completely different (hardware) player, the
visualiser options disappear from the 'Now Playing Views'.

So now I just need to decide on a strategy for assigning the jivelite
MAC address to the most appropriate squeezelite instance. Or maybe I
don't - I am doing this to be able to *avoid* a Joggler-based player
after all!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] How to enable visualisations in Jivelite?

2019-02-13 Thread chill

Thanks Ralphy

My two instances have adjacent MAC addresses - I simply add 1 to the
final segment of the hardware MAC address to get the second MAC address
(unless it's 'FF', in which case I subtract 1), and then I use the lower
of the two MAC addresses for the internal interface. Maybe I need to
adjust that policy (e.g. so that a single instance always uses the
hardware MAC address, and if there are two instances then the first one
enabled gets the hardware address).

But I wonder if that matters. If jivelite doesn't check again after the
first check, what would happen if I start jivelite when a
visualiser-enabled local player with the right MAC address is running,
then switch to a visualiser-enabled local player with a different MAC
address? In that case would jivelite attempt to use the shared memory
offered by the second player? Presumably, if I switch to a different
player altogether (e.g. a hardware player), while jivelite thinks
visualisers are enabled, they would simply not work due to the lack of
shared memory, but would that crash jivelite perhaps?

Time for some experimenting I think. Clearing the Lua settings is the
important step before I start.

The MAC address of both squeezelite and jivelite need to be the same. So
only one of the two squeezelite instances can be the local player.

The easiest way to reenable the visualizers is to stop jivelite, delete
$HOME/.jivelite/userpath/settings/*.lua, start squeezelite with -v and
then start jivelite.

Once jivelite has determined that the local player doesn't support the
visualizers, it never checks again.

I don't see "Third Party Plugins" anywhere. Could you please direct me
to it?

I'm not sure what you mean by categories. This is what my plugins page
looks like. I also don't see Qobuz on this page under All Apps:

It certainly should work, yes. Did you check all plugin categories?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Is Quoboz available on LMS 7.7.6?

2019-02-13 Thread basslover

I'm using the Squeezebox Duet. I never upgraded from LMS 7.7.6 because
everything was working fine including TIDAL streaming so I figured leave
well enough alone. Now I'd like to stream Quoboz. But I don't see it
in the plugin list under Settings/Plugins. Can I get it there in 7.7.6
and get Quoboz to work? If so, what would be the steps please? Thanks!
(I'm not too technically capable)

what i get:

http-get:*:audio/mpeg:*,http-get:*:audio/vnd.dlna.adts:*,http-get:*:audio/x-ms-wma:*,http-get:*:audio/x-ms-wma:*,http-get:*:audio/L16;rate=48000;channels=2:*,http-get:*:audio/L16;rate=48000;channels=1:*,http-get:*:audio/L16;rate=44100;channels=2:*,http-get:*:audio/L16;rate=44100;channels=1:*,http-get:*:audio/wav:*,http-get:*:audio/mp3:*,http-get:*:audio/flac:*,http-get:*:audio/aac:*,http-get:*:audio/m4a:*

So i guess i'd need to put all these audio/wav, audio/flac, audio/aac
and audio/m4a intot th emime types? I just seperate these with "," or
";" or ?

thanks again!
