So far so good. I can now play the aac streams in Orange Squeeze and playing the interactive FLAC stream does not add all of the streams to the queue. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer V1.6 (and higher) & BBCiPlayerExtra 2.0 (and higher) Support
My Perl is incredibly rusty, however I have written a quick script: #!/usr/bin/perl use warnings; use diagnostics; use strict; use IO::Socket::SSL qw(debug4); my $client = IO::Socket::SSL->new("www.bbc.co.uk:443"); if (defined $client) { print $client "GET / HTTP/1.0\r\n\r\n"; print <$client>; close $client; } else { warn "I encountered a problem: ", IO::Socket::SSL::errstr(); } which returns: I encountered a problem: IO::Socket::INET6 configuration failederror::lib(0):func(0):reason(0) at perltest line 15. If I try the same script but with "www.google.com:443" instead of "www.bbc.co.uk:443" it works fine. If I try the same in php on the same machine it works fine: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0005mjn/playlist.json;); ?> I thought Perl and php both use openSSL, so the pathway should be the same, but obviously "www.bbc.co.uk:443" has a problem with the way the Perl call works. The version of perl is v5.10.1 Does anyone have any pointers as to what I might need to do to resolve this? I should know this. Just today the behavior of iPeng on my iPhone changed. In the past, when I selected an album and then selected the first track on the album, iPeng would replace the playlist with my newly selected album. Now, it simply treats the single track as "play next." What did I do? The workaround was to go into the LMS Administration Player/Audio settings for each CC player and make sure that the Volume Control parameter is set to "Volume controls adjust outputs", and not "Output level is fixed at 100%". If you want to give it a try, you might be able to avoid the overhead involved in transcoding unnecessarily. Hi I have a problem similar to paulo72's from earlier and would be grateful for any pointers. live streams work fine but when trying on the listen again streams I get nothing. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
Ok, doing my own troubleshooting for the "Material Skin Not Installing" problem I'm having on Mac OS X 10.11.6. Symptom is the plugin always shows deselected, after repeated attempts to install. Plugin is not installed upon stop/start of server or reboot of the Mac. Looking at the server log, searching on "Material", I got these hits: [19-06-07 16:56:58.8126] Slim::Utils::PluginDownloader::_downloadError (217) unable to download MaterialSkin from https://github.com/CDrummond/lms-material/releases/download/0.7.4/lms-material-0.7.4.zip - Connect timed out: [19-06-07 16:56:58.8125] Slim::Utils::PluginDownloader::_downloadError (217) unable to download MaterialSkin from https://github.com/CDrummond/lms-material/releases/download/0.7.4/lms-material-0.7.4.zip - Connect timed out: [19-06-07 17:00:25.3901] Slim::Utils::PluginDownloader::_downloadError (217) unable to download MaterialSkin from https://github.com/CDrummond/lms-material/releases/download/0.7.4/lms-material-0.7.4.zip - Connect timed out: [19-06-07 17:01:19.2451] Slim::Utils::PluginDownloader::_downloadError (217) unable to download MaterialSkin from https://github.com/CDrummond/lms-material/releases/download/0.7.4/lms-material-0.7.4.zip - Connect timed out: [19-06-07 17:01:37.3360] Slim::Utils::PluginDownloader::_downloadError (217) unable to download MaterialSkin from https://github.com/CDrummond/lms-material/releases/download/0.7.4/lms-material-0.7.4.zip - Connect timed out: [19-06-07 17:07:43.1706] Slim::Utils::PluginDownloader::_downloadError (217) unable to download MaterialSkin from https://github.com/CDrummond/lms-material/releases/download/0.7.4/lms-material-0.7.4.zip - Connect timed out: [19-06-07 17:07:43.1704] Slim::Utils::PluginDownloader::_downloadError (217) unable to download MaterialSkin from https://github.com/CDrummond/lms-material/releases/download/0.7.4/lms-material-0.7.4.zip - Connect timed out: [19-06-07 17:08:45.6450] Slim::Utils::PluginDownloader::_downloadError (217) unable to download MaterialSkin from https://github.com/CDrummond/lms-material/releases/download/0.7.4/lms-material-0.7.4.zip - Connect timed out: [19-06-10 09:29:39.4461] Slim::Utils::PluginDownloader::_downloadError (217) unable to download MaterialSkin from https://github.com/CDrummond/lms-material/releases/download/0.8.0/lms-material-0.8.0.zip - Connect timed out: [19-06-10 09:30:29.7985] Slim::Utils::PluginDownloader::_downloadError (217) unable to download MaterialSkin from https://github.com/CDrummond/lms-material/releases/download/0.8.0/lms-material-0.8.0.zip - Connect timed out: Is this just a symptom of the traffic spike from Darko's letter to the editor or something else going on? dmcdayton's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10482 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Material tries to detect if the cover is from a remote source (http://, https://), and if so uses mysqueezebox for resizing. For local covers, it will use LMS. >From looking at the URLs that are in your screenshot, they are all local covers. I only started using the plugin on friday when it appeared to work perfectly, every song or playlist I tried to play worked fine. But the next day and still today it is very hit and miss, even songs that did work now no longer play. For example I tried this track as posted before by Dad33 https://youtu.be/8BP3fiUpb10 and it played fine, but today it won't. Does it work best on 7.9.2 or doesn't it matter? If Material detects this, it will manually ask for a status update 1 second later - to see if the stream has started playing. This should happen every second whilst waitingToPlay. Looking at the log I see: - [12:47:08] "Eric Clapton" track waitingToPlay, and its current posiiton set to 0 (-"time":0-) Because this track is waitingtoPlay, Material schedules a status update for 1 second later - [12:47:09] 1 second timer has fired, and a forced status update is requested. Meterial schedules another status update - [12:47:22] Now the second forced update is processed. So, something is a bit odd. A 1 second timer took 13 seconds to fire. Now I know Javascript timer resolution is deliberately bad - but not that bad. Unfortunately the timestamps are when the status is received, not when asked for - so it could be that LMS took 12 seconds to process the status update request. Is your LMS configured to locally resize images, or is mysquezebox being used? Can you look at your browser's Network tab (in developer tools), and see if there is a long running network request whilst this is happening. cpd73's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66686 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

If I allow the stream to play normally the Touch and Material skin change within a second or two of each other but in this case they both change around 20 seconds after the track starts playing. I have just tried on Firefox on my laptop and this adds more detail. If I start the interactive stream from Android Chrome the track starts playing immediately and the image appears on the touch and the now playing section of the Firefox desktop. It does not appear in the playlist section of Firefox desktop or the now playing screen on Android Chrome. These two images appear simultaneously after a delay of around 20 seconds. If I start the interactive stream from Firefox desktop then both playback and images are delayed by around 20 seconds so playback starts at the same time the images appear. Hope this makes sense. As to the delay, this depends on the HTTP long polling. So, the max will be 30seconds. What is happening is that no status update is being sent via cometd, and the long poll is timing out. So, the delay depends upon when the long poll was started. Does it happend only on Android, iOS, desktop-chrome, desktop-firefox? Or happens no matter what browser, and whether on desktop or mobile? I also assume its not happening with the default web UI (which I -think- polls), or iPeng/SqueezeCtrl? cpd73's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66686 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I normally use the main interactive FLAC stream as well and that was where I first noticed it. It also happens on the mellow interactive stream. I just tried on the main normal stream and the delay between my Squeezebox Touch display and Material Skin was 28 seconds. Yes it always happens but the delay is not constant. I have seen as low as 13 seconds and as high as 28 seconds. The delay only happens on RP streams and nowhere else. I will investigate the cometd status updates and report back. Yeah, I know. I did consider adding a menu to the sub-toolbar - but just looked too noisy. I could leave the items always in the menu, but disabled when not appropriate. Just not sure. I needed to free up some space for the sub-toolbar text, and this seemed the most logical way. slartibartfast wrote: > I am more concerned about the 15 to 30 second delay in displaying images > for Radio Paradise after the last update. Material uses LMS's cometd for status updates, as do most other controllers (AFAIK). These status updates have the song's metadata (artist, title, etc), playback status (state, duration, position), and the cover URL. Material uses what is called a long-poll HTTP connection. This connection stays open for 30 seconds. If a playback change happens in that 30 seconds, cometed is supposed to return the status. If nothing happens, the latest status is returned. This process is then repeated. So, it looks like one satus update had the song's meta-data, but not its correct playback state or cover URL. When the 30 seconds expired, the status at the end of this had the correct info. I have seen issues with LMS's cometd not reporting changes quickly enough. In the developers forum I reported that a queue filled with 2 second tracks can miss updates- but had no replies. I added code to poll near the start, and end, of a track to work around this. I have no idea why you seem to be consistently experiencing this. Does it *always* happen? Does it happen for all RP stations? I must admit I'm pretty new to RP, and have only used the "Interactive FLAC" stream on the Main-Mix. Does it happen to you on this stream? Does it a happen elsewhere (e.g. local playback, Spotty, non-RP streams)? If you want to see Meterial's cometd interaction, start Material using -http://SERVER:9000/material/desktop?debug=cometd- and cometed status updates will be shown in the console tab of your browser's developer tools. If you do this, do you see a player status update at the time a song changes, but the display has not updated correctly? cpd73's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66686 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Radio Paradise Lossless Streaming (Plugin v2)
Just noticed the new Radio Paradise menus do not work from the Touch menu system. I have "disable touch to play" set to always ask. If I Try to play the Main interactive FLAC stream then 4 items are added to the queue (interactive FLAC, FLAC stream, 320k aac and 128k aac). I have kind of a fix/workaround for this. But I'm not using the "defet TTP" feature, I'm not really in a good position to test. I've run some testing, didn't find any side-effect. Yet I don't feel comfortable committing this without some further testing. Would you be able to patch your LMS (add a single line in a specific file) and run it that way for a while? -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: PlayHLS Plugin - plugin to play Apple HLS m3u8 stream
I still use SVN to update LMS. With my LMS at 40410 all the station played OK for me with a clean install of PLayhLS v2. I updated LMS to latest 40437 and I now reproduce the problem. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103158 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

If I Try to play the Main interactive FLAC stream then 4 items are added to the queue (interactive FLAC, FLAC stream, 320k aac and 128k aac). If I try to play 320k or 128k aac they fail to play. Hmm... there's some odd interaction going on with the "Use HD images" option: if I remove that item, then things are working fine... Might be a bug in LMS being triggered by that item. I really don't know why this should have any impact on a menu one level deeper. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Odd how with no actual image, the resizing does not take place (thw white line). I'll look into this and try and fix. I'm guessing its due to the remote image (as, if set in LMS, mysqueezebox.com is used to resize remote images (and this is the default setting)). cpd73's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66686 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
