Yep, I have other albums with the same character that works fine. I
realize the response is from LMS, that's why I wasn't sure where things
went wrong, it seems the Standard skin handles BMF in a rather different
way since it can deal with this album.
Still, it's odd that the "isfolder" field also is wrong in the reply. No
errors in the console though.

Found another album with Motörhead in another directory tree that was
also affected, and also an album with Mötley Crüe. Seems LMS enforces a
strict rule, if you have "mëtäl ümläüts" in your band name you've used
up your allowance and can't have it in album names too. Will do a bit of
experimenting to see if I can establish a strict pattern.

This -looks- like an encoding issue, perhaps with LMS. I've just created
a folder with "ö" on my system to test, and it is working fine. However,
this is on Ubuntu 19.04 with LMS 7.9.2.

I'd guess what is happening is that the badly encoded character is
breaking the JSON parsing of the response - do you get any errors logged
in the console tab of your browser's developer tools? Even so, this
response is from LMS, and if it is badly encoded the issue is with LMS.

Yeah, just checked, and pinned Radio is tottaly broken! I've fixed for
0.9.4, but with the fix you will need to un-pin and re-pin Radios.

Hi,
no, even after some hours it doesn’t populate the data.
I have to enter the Extras->SDT menu, then it works.
No big deal, though

@M_Meyer, @Pommes,
If you wait 75 seconds does SDT start updating in your system?

Upon initialization there is currently a 75 second delay before SDT will
start getting data if there are no players with legacy graphical
displays. (i.e. SB3 Classic, Boom, Transporter) Entering the
Extras->SDT menu eliminates the delay. I can reduce or eliminate the
delay in the next release if this is what you are experiencing.

Okay. I think I know where to look to fix this. Looking at @M_Meyer's
tag line I only see a Touch and Radio. No classic, Boom, or Transport
players. @Pommes what players do you have in your setup?

Did you try temporarily removing password protection on your LMS and see
if that removes the behavior?

As for the log, your can select the text, right click and select copy,
then paste the relevant portion as text in here.

Yes, the browser interface keeps reloading. I am using the Material
Skin. It's a continous reload afaict. I did view the log but could not

I don't think this is the issue as that settings does not dramatically
impact the user interface, which I think is what he is seeing. By his
description, the web page is being loaded from scratch repeatedly.

In looking at my code, I can see one way that could happen. When SLX
connects it first tests the server on http. If that works (including
authentication), then it connects the Telnet. If that works, then it
loads the page. After that, it checks every 5 seconds to see if Telnet
is still connected. If it is not it, it tries connect as described and
that process will invoke a page load. I've never seen it happen, but if
Telnet initially connects, then gets quickly dropped, then this would
happen. It would be weird for the connection to be successful, then
drop, except for the authentication process. The way LMS works is that
after you successfully connect to Telnet on a password protected server,
the very first message to the server on Telnet must be a login username
password message. If any other message shows up first, then the Telnet
connection is terminated. Of course my code knows this and works this
way (famous last words). If something is going wrong here, the log
should show it. And if the issue is here, a good test would be to test
without password protection on the server.

I could do that, I'd even be happy to ignore it as I pretty much never
use BMF anyway, but if this is some kind of "corner case" triggering a
bug in Material it might be worth a look as it could come back and bite
others.

I tried to browse "Music Folder" and by happenstance noticed one album
was missing. Given that it's shown in the Standard skin it would suggest
it's a problem with Material, but I'm not ready to place the blame just
yet.

It's clearly been scanned, and I don't see anything odd in the logs, but
I sniffed the traffic and saw something odd in the jsonrpc reply.

Code:

{"method":"slim.request","result":{"count":6,"fsitems_loop":[{"path":"/storage/music/flac/Motörhead/Ace
 of Spades (compilation)","name":"Ace of Spades
(compilation)","isfolder":"1"},{"path":"/storage/music/flac/Motörhead/Aftershock","name":"Aftershock","isfolder":"1"},{"path":"/storage/music/flac/Motörhead/Bad

The last album is the missing one, and that entry looks odd. The "ö" in
the directory name is garbled, while it's correct for the parent
directory, and "isfolder" is set to null. I can't see anything odd in
the filenames when logging in to the server, and looking in the database
the names seem to have been picked up correctly.

Server is a Vortexbox (Fedora) running LMS 7.9.1 and Material 0.9.3

I have not seen this behavior before. It should not matter what
browser(s) you have installed outside of SLX. SLX uses the Chromium
Embedded Framework (CEF) and operates independently of any other browser
on your system. Let me make sure I understand your scenario. I assume
it is the browser interface in SLX that keeps reloading. Are you using
the Default Skin or Material Skin? Does the "reloading" occur on any
sort of interval or continuous? You can bring up a log window by
pressing F12. Do you see entries in the log that correspond to the
reloading? I assume if you connect to LMS with a regular browser you do
not see this behavior.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X

2019-07-31 Thread streifenleopard

Hi,
I have installed this player and while it seems to be fully functional
the interface as such keeps reloading so that it is barely usable.
This is happening on Windows 10 Pro N 1903 both on my old PC (slow) and
my new one (fast). It is a version downloaded from the store. No
Chromium browser is installed on the new PC but the old one had Opera
and Vivaldi.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.

I have the same problem here.
Once I restart my Synologie server I have to manually click on SDT on
the touch. Only then it starts showing the temperature and Icons again.

slartibartfast

Thanks for having a look. Your response makes me believe that a pinned
radio station did in fact work for me earlier. If that's the case the
obvious question for me is: What changed?

Here are the only things I remember changing.
1. I upgraded to the latest version of the Material skin (i.e., 0.9.3)
2. Because I wanted to (a) pin a couple of new stations to add to the
existing (and working) station and (b) change the order in which the
newly-pinned stations were presented, I deleted the working station and
begin to pin several stations including the previously working station.
At this point I encountered the problem: All the stations were pinned,
but none of them would play.

The only other thing I can think of that might be a problem is that I'm
running LMS Version: 7.9.1 - 0.7.20180404git1522249619 @ Mon May 14
10:51:59 EDT 2018.

I run LMS on a Vortexbox appliance. My updates to LMS are handled via
updates to the Vortexbox software, but obviously updates have not been
offered in quite some time. I'm guessing I could figure out how to
update LMS outside the Vortexbox update process, but I'm loathe to do
this since everything aside from the Material skin pin problem is
working fine. It's a case of "If it ain't broke don't fix it." This runs
afoul of earlier behavior of my part: "If it ain't broke, break it." :)

P.S. I tried the Material skin on Firefox (I currently use Chrome), but
that didn't solve the pin problem.

Thanks,

Steve

2019-07-31 Thread radish112

Good morning.

I have been using and admiring the Material skin for a couple of months.
I like the convenience of being able to pin Apps and invoke them with a
tap. My understanding is that Radio items should work the same way but
for me they don't.

>From within the "Radio" item I click on a station and am presented with
the option to "pin to main page." I tap this option, and when I return
to the Main (Browse) page the station is indeed pinned there, but when I
click on the station nothing happens. This is true for both the desktop
and mobile versions of the Material skin.

I believe there was a time when clicking my pinned station did invoke
the station and begin playing, but it's been a while since I tried that
feature so I may be mistaken about this.

In any event great work on the skin, Craig. I can live without the
ability to start radio stations from a pinned status, but it is a nice
feature. If someone can provide a tip concerning what I may be doing
wrong I'd appreciate it.

Cheers,

Steve

Curently the "Save as favourite" and "Remove favourite" options are
excluded from the list of entries when showing "More" For 0.9.4 I'm
going to remove this exclusion. So, (with 0.9.4) to add a stream that's
in the queue to favourites; click entry in queue, select "More" from
context menu, then select "Save as favourite" from the resultant list.
Not quite as fast, but good enough. The problems with adding it to the
queue menu are; a) I'd have to check its not already a favourite (not a
massive issue, do this for browse items), and b) the URL in the queue
might not be the best URL to use. For example, with TuneIn station's
it's better to favourite the TuneIn URL, but the URL the queue sees can
change to be the current sreaming URL. I'm not sure if the "More" menu
fixes this, but it has a better chance...

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.8.x - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox

2019-07-31 Thread tinti

Hi,

I am using the plugin since the beginning of the year and I don't know
what version number I've started with. One thing I know is that I kept
the plugin up to date until now.
Since the beginning I've had almost daily disconnects when playing
playlists with multiples 100's of items. Those disconnects are up to
several times an hour, which is very annoying.

Internet connection does not disconnect and I always notice that when I
try to immediately restart playback the speakers controlled by Spotty
LMS plugin aren't available in the App. I have to wait a minute or close
the Spotify app on the phone to reconnect and stream again. Does
somebody have an idea how to troubleshoot or solve this problem?

Thanks,
tinti
