[SlimDevices: Plugins] Playback Issues

2020-07-19 Thread chris002

Most songs end and go to the next fine. Others the countdown to the end
of track gets to about 4 secs then goes up again to 10 and so on.

Wired network to Yamaha wxc 50 Pi setup.

Help appreciated.

IIRC for some reason the Denon would not allow linked messages and
disconnected after a few seconds. It was frustrating.

I had UPNP failing on me once, because of multiple times the same player
name but with different MAC addresses.

There is a plugin to clean up orphaned players. I tried that, restarted
LMS, and UPNP worked its magic once again.

To answer my own post, no, Deezer API doesn't support HiFi playback at
all.

However there is a grey area, and that's accessing Deezer via the web
UI. Logging in to web UI giver you an 'ari', a web cookie which can be
used with some tools found on Github (deezloader)

I managed to edit the spotty plugin so that you can choose a track in
Spotty, and the corresponding CD quality FLAC gets downloaded from
Deezer & played back. This works for 90% now (I can't failback to
Spotify yet, if the track doesn't exist) so it's a proof of concept for
a working, new generation Deeze HiFi plugin.

Writing a full plugin is a huge challenge for me, I'm afraid my
programming skills are way too rusty to pull that off. If there is any
interest in Deezer HiFi, I'd gladly share what I did so far to make it
work.

I'm using Spotify Connect. With my Boom selected as the player in the
Connect Client (green highlight) then track 12 (1:28) plays but track 15
(0:25) causes the Booms spotty-hf task on my LMS server to die and the
green highlight in the Connect Client to disappear.

When I edited the perl file I just commented out the bit rate line.

I just tried the same tracks from Spotty in the LMS web client. Track 12
played Ok but track 15 did not (the progress indicator started moving
for a second or so and then jumped back to zero).

Happy to try any other tests you suggest!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: YouTube Plugin (API v3)

2020-07-19 Thread chaug

I am unable to play any more clips from youtube and I can't quite figure
out why but it might have something to do with having (almost) reached
the maximum number of api queries:

31087

But then again, I have not yet reached the maximum, so it should still
work.

I have no idea where all those queries come from, given that I have
maybe searched for 5-10 videos in the past week or so. How many queries
is each search supposed to consume?

I set the logging level for the youtube plugin to DEBUG and found this
hundreds of these:

Code:

[20-07-19 14:46:22.5661] Plugins::YouTube::ProtocolHandler::getMetadataFor
(783) getmetadata: youtube://www.youtube.com/v/y2Ffjx2qGjY
  [20-07-19 14:46:22.5663] Plugins::YouTube::ProtocolHandler::getMetadataFor
(798) cache hit: y2Ffjx2qGjY

What does that mean?

Any clues that might help me fix this problem would be appreciated.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)

2020-07-19 Thread TonioRoffo

After a few days of tinkering, I have succesfully changed
custom-convert.conf (under Spotty) and added some bash
scripts+deezloader to play Deezer HiFi Tracks instead of spotify ones.

I'm not sure if I can share that here, as deezloader isn't using the API
but rather a hacked way of accessing the Deezer web interface. I do
have a valid Deezer HiFi account though.

One thing I still don't understand in custom-convert.conf:

> spt pcm * *
>   # RT:{START=--start-position %s}
> [spotty] -n Squeezebox -c "$CACHE$" --single-track $URL$ --bitrate 320
> --disable-discovery --disable-audio-cache $START$

* %s is a valid variable and get put in $START$ to transfer to the
spotty binary
* $URL$ and $CACHE$ are passed through somehow

I replace [spotty] by [deez] $CACHE$ $URL$ $START$ which is a bash
script.

I see the URL being passed, I can parse it and stream the deezer track,
no problem
I can see the start parameter also, so I can start the track half way,
absolutely no problem
However, $CACHE$ never gets passed to the bash parameters, always empty.
This doesn't allow me to fall back to the spotty binary when the track
doesn't exist on Deezer, because I get, of course, "credentials
missing"

can't seem to solve this issue.

I'm a bit sad I don't have the knowledge to write a full, new plugin for
Deezer, as what I have achieved already shows that it's perfectly
possible to play Deezer HiFi tracks in LMS.

The skill lambda at Amazon talks directly to your Proxy which in turn
talks to LMS. Anything incoming to your proxy is coming from Amazon so
if your proxy logs are empty then Amazon is not even trying.

I'm still far from jumping in, but low level socket programming (which
the Async module seems to me) is a bear, and the reason I'm looking at
the Net::Telnet high level module.

But, regarding the post you are referencing above; is it really
necessary to disconnect? Don't you get your own socket, and the
communication is asynchronous?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] LMS-lite certified Smart Home skill for Alexa

Thinking aloud ... this is how I think it works.

When a discovery is started Amazon would be connecting to the Skill
server rather than the local reverse proxy because it does not know how
to talk to LMS itself.
The Skill then connects to the proxy to get the list of players and
reformats the response for returning to Amazon.

If that is right then Amazon would never connect to the proxy.
