You should uninstall those additional helper plugins. They're only

I think you're right, sadly. Maybe the manual installation puts people
off?
I only recently discovered how easy it is to find & subscribe to
podcasts using the LMS podcast app & Material Skin, so will probably use
that for now.

Unfortunately it looks to me that the Revo always wants to receive a
small chunk of data, like 128kB by doing a range-request, and then never
follow-up. I don't support range-request (because it's not a static
content I have), so I don't answer to range-request by a 206, but by a
200 which, AFAIK, is the right answer (can't do range, but here is the
whole content). Problem is that their HTTP and/or UPnP management stack
seem to be broken, like many. It is incorrect and non-compliant to
assume that a HTTP source has random access to content. You can try, but
if the answer from the server is "no", and you fail with that response,
then your client is incorrect.

Hi Michael,
I can't remember having changed anything significant within my server
environment...
Today I narrowed the skipping-behaviour by noting down some skip-times
and I enabled Information Logging for Spotty.
I started the listening session at 14:17. The first skip appeared at
14:21, the second skip I experienced at 14:32, these are exact times...
Probably the server.log can give some information? The only thing that
caught my eye is, for example, the line '[20-11-03 14:21:29.1921]
Plugins::Spotty::Connect::_getNextTrack (208) We're approaching the end
of a track - get the next track'
this was exactly the skipping point (about 7 minutes to early)

Could you provide me with an upload-link for my server.log-file? Perhaps
you have an idea? Thank you so much!
Best regards, Oliver

I finally got it working! Not sure what actually fixed it, but I did the
following:

1. Had to manually enter my Spotify login and password in the Spotty
setup since it looked like it didn't connect automatically using the
Spotify app on my phone
2. On the Spotty Spotify under Advanced settings I manually selected
the Spotty Helper Application dropdown list using 0.35.0 choice.

Thanks to Michael and everyone else that tried helping. Really

Ratings are sent by LMS in the status response - but only if 'R' is
included in the 'tags:' parameter. Material will only add 'R' in the
status request if ratings are being shown.

*Material debug:* 1. Launch via http: //SERVER:9000/material/?debug=json
(Use http: //SERVER:9000/material/?debug=json,cometd to also see update
messages, e.g. play queue) 2. Open browser's developer tools 3. Open
console tab in developer tools 4. REQ/RESP messages sent to/from LMS
will be logged here.

Thank you. So I've checked out the 2.1 branch version. Unfortunately,
out of the box no ratings are displayed (except the empty stars). It
doesn't pick up any of the values my plugin provides.

I understand perfectly that this is a niche case and therefore I need to
fork your repo and implement this myself. But your Material skin is a
complex and beautiful beast. :) Could you maybe do me a favor and tell
me
-where exactly in the code Material gets/receives the rating for the
currently playing song-? I did go through your code (esp. the js files)
and found the setrating lmscommand but it almost seemed as if rating was
part of the playerstatus reply which I learned in jivelite normally
doesn't include a rating value. Or so I thought.

I could try to modify the existing rating query to pick up a rating
value from my plugin - or
if that doesn't work I could try to add a server request for the comment
tag and translate keywords into ratings. (That's what I did with
jivelite's NowPlaying screen.)

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

P.S.
And yes, you are absolutely correct. Empty stars are irritating. That's
why I left the space empty if the track is unrated and only displayed
stars if there is a rating.

won't change quality. The file was always being converted to PCM to
play, it is just now it is being converted to PCM at the server side
rather than the player side.

I think that's done it. Although has this downgraded the quality of the
file I'm hearing in any way?

Thanks a Million if not!

Could someone walk me through inserting a custom conf file in the
appropriate place to solve this for me.

The latest LMS8 should have the necessary changes which would allow you
to transcode to PCM.

from p33 middel and forward

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin

2020-11-03 Thread gegen

Hi cpd73

I'm using material apk v0.1.4 on my phone with SB Player and lms 8 on a
pi in my car connecting to bluetooth for playback...all works great so
thanks. Was wondering if it were possible to have an option to start
SB Player automatically when the material app is opened?

Well I took an even bigger plunge and bought a Pi3, fresh install of
pCp, LMS and associated tinkery bits and Spotty (4.4.1) is now working
perfectly. Spotify Connect devices are correctly and permanently
announced and the interface is now lightning fast.
The old Dockstar unit served me well for 10years and was still reliable
for file serving, but the Pi3 is much faster and has apparently solved
my issue>
Many thanks for your help and the masses of work you do to keep this
held together.
Mark

4 Pis running piCoreplayer served by LMS on a Seagate Dockstar running
Squeezeplug . All controlled from the sluggish Web UI :( and the
sensational Squeezecommander App

Thank you Philippe. I've attached the bridge log - it's from starting
the bridge, through selecting an mps to when the Revo hangs on
"Loading". The is set to 'if known' and I will continue
playing/testing with other modes.

It may or may not be related but I am also seeing a lot of reverse DNS
lookups (in-addr.arpa) from the Revo to 50.1.168.192. That could be
Sonoma Radio but as I don't have a Sonoma station saved in my
favourites, I'm a bit baffled as to why the Revo would be contacting
them on start-up.

Many thanks for any advice you can offer.
