And, as stated, I do not use any streaming services. So the above is
useless without more information. Not sure what you expect me to do.

After you mentioned this and I looked at my forecast and noticed the
same thing. The JSON data is now returning precipitation chance data to
1% resolution. I have attached a screen cap of the data for my
location. Looking at the weather.com website it appears they are
rounding to the nearest 5%. The JSON data used to provide 10%
resolution. I plan to leave this alone and use the JSON data directly.
Let me know your thoughts.

There seems to be a change in the forecast of rain from weather.com. It
used to say 10, 30 ... 100% rainrisk, now SDT shows odd numbers like 4,
19, 76 ... 94%. Even if it rains or snows heavily the actual readout is
94%.

Anyone else seen this also?

As with others, thank goodness for this plugin waiting in the wings for
the moment that the BBC finally killed off our much loved iPlayer
plugin. While I knew about this plugin, I'd not really bothered with it
as I, like many others, preferred the iPlayer way of doing things to
Sounds. But boy, am I grateful for it now - thank you!

The *one* good think about Sounds is that Popmaster is available as a
Podcast - straight into the action, from contestant 1 to contestant 2
with no messing about. No idea where it is located in Sounds, but a
search for Popmaster will find it in a trice.

I have tried a few different docker images but I am getting nowhere. Is
this a file permission issue? LMS runs perfectly each time I install, I
just can't get the castbridge plugin to create the XML file.
I have tried locating where the file should be stored but I can't find
that either.

I have a working XML that I can copy across from my old server, but as I
don't know where to put it I am a bit stumped!

UNSYNCEDLYRICS tags for FLAC files aren't currently sourced for

lyrics.

Would they be shown if you listed the tags in a track's info menu? I
don't know whether LMS would even read that tag.

Yes, the tag shows with value strings like "(828 Bytes)".

I added it to 8.1 - should you feel adventurous enough to give that a

I think 7.9.* is too generous - BBC have https requirements so 7.9.4 or
possibly 7.9.3 are probably required. Also for LMS plugins repositories

I am using Qobuz most of the time these days, always using Material, and
never seen this error.

It's good to know though that Qobuz only allows one device (stream) per
account so if you also have the app open on your phone or laptop you
might experience unexpected errors.

Interesting. Question: Do you use Qobuz+Material through the Online
Music Library Integration plugin? Or do you go through the APPS menu?
Something tells me I get the errors when I try to use the library
integration thing, but I'm not sure.

My first guess would be an issue with iPeng. Have you tried just using
the LMS webinterface (with Material skin) on the phone? You can add it
to the homepage, making it pretty much like an App. And you can then use
the swipe up/down for volume, which is pretty cool and practical.

The BBC Sounds plugin works with 7.9.x, so there is no need to update to

I understand that but I'd like to be able to add quick access to the

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce : BBC Sounds Plugin

2020-12-03 Thread expectingtofly

Version 2.6.7 is a minor release to add a couple of preference settings
It includes :

NEW FEATURES:

- An option to place BBC Sounds into the "Radio" menu (instead of the
  default "My Apps")
- An advanced setting option to hide the audio sample rate from LMS.
This should only be set if you want to work around the specific issue
that Paul raised. There really should be no other reason to change
this, I'm not sure of the wider impact.

It's in the Beta repository now. It will be available in the standard
repository at the next central refresh (which I think is at around 6:30
PM UK time.)

Thanks for the quick reply. Apologies, my bad! You're quite right, they
work fine in Material skin and on Orange squeeze, just not in the
original LMS web page. Don't know why I thought the images were missing
as I generally use Material skkin an Orange Squeeze, must have been
checking something on the basic LMS page for some reason.

I know what you mean about clicks but it's early days only 3 months old.
The BBCiPlayer plugin built on AlienBBC and so has had about 15 years to
get it right.

Using a proper API should mean it is easier to maintain but it may also
force a certain navigation "style" onto the UI.

Triode laid the groundwork, I maintained it in his absence.

The BBC have provided a feed for "Listen Again" for many years but have
indicated that it would be ended. There have been previous hiccoughs and
service ruened but I think this time it is final as BBC Sounds became
available to non-UK user at end of Sept.

I suggest migrate over to the BBC Sounds which uses an API which BBC's
own apps use.

The BBC Sounds plugin is available in LMS 3rd parties plugin list - no
special repository needs to be added. You need to register on BBC
Sounds web site for an id.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.4 - more personalised content

2020-12-03 Thread Nojelc

Like others my access to Spotify via LMS and Spotty has been very poor
and patchy for the last few weeks. Having read through the last few
pages I am still confused if I need to do, or indeed can do anything to
improve things.

My symptoms are as follows
- I get an error message about a token, after trying this several times
I get through to the normal top level menu list
- If I select Artist I sometimes get an error message, but after a few
attempts I get my list of Artists
- When I select an Artist I often get an Empty message again, if I keep
trying I can sometimes get a list of Albums. Often albums for some
artists are loaded, while others remain stubbornly empty
- Then if I select an Album sometimes it plays, sometimes not
- The above is just an example, other options are often empty and fail
to play, e.g. Podcasts, Genre play lists etc

It used to be rock solid, can we expect to get back to that. Is there
anything I can do?

I have updated to 4.4.4

That's likely my fault.

I have always done rolling releases, where the version number is
incremented with a functional or feature change and revisions increase
for fixes.

I've been asked several times by the package maintainers to tag
squeezelite releases on my github repository. I have a local subversion
repository for squeezelite development that I push to github as
required. If I add a release tag on github I can no longer push changes
from subversion and if I tag in subversion the tags aren't propogated to
github.

The package maintainers seem to be stuck using the last Triode 1.8
release of squeezelite as a result.

Would they be shown if you listed the tags in a track's info menu? I

Yes, the tag shows with value strings like "(828 Bytes)".

I'd like to add my huge thanks for this new plugin, which really does
fill in some of the BBC gaps.

I can't pretend to be a fan of Sounds. iPlayer is perfect - far and away
the best thing the BBC ever created - but this plugin will give me
immense pleasure by providing access to the long list of audiobooks
alone.

As always, we listeners enjoy the fruits of other people's hard labour.

And there has never been a time when having access to high quality radio
output from around the world was so important to get us through these
difficult days.

Thanks!

Thanks - this worked.

Probably needs bpa/Michael/Philippe/Ralphy input to work out a solution
that allows the plugin to continue to provide the correct data but for
LMS to determine that transcode is needed because player does not
support the source sample rate.

I suspect that this is already possible in Squeezelite so maybe Jive
needs same capability or perhaps LMS could assume everything supports
only 44.1 unless told otherwise (which could be via Audio config page
for player in LMS) ... or player tells LMS "unsupported sample rate"
when it fails and LMS tries a different one via transcode (which would
result in a delay and possibly intermediate error messages).

The plugin is providing the images in all menus. It's up to the
controller to show them. Material skin shows them, and they are shown
on the radio/touch menus.
What are you using that is not showing them?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce : BBC Sounds Plugin

2020-12-03 Thread timmoss501

Firstly, a huge thanks from me.Llike many others I only discovered the
BBC Sounds plugin following the problems with the Iplayer plugin. I wish
I had known about it earlier as the two complement each other very
well.

A couple of suggestions for features that I miss in the Sounds plugin
are program descriptions and thumbnail images in program
listings/schedule, the thumbnails are helpful for those with less than
20:20 vision. Is this data easily available via the api? As a matter of
interest, is the Sounds api freely available? I'd be interested to take
a look at it if it is.

I appreciate that with what looks like the scuppering of Iplayer's
listen again you are likely to get loads of feature requests, so for me
these are nice to haves. Incidentally, I find the Sounds plugin far more
intuitive than the BBC's browser based version and far easier to
navigate, so once again, many thanks for creating the plugin and making
it available.
