Update 2.9.0

7. Add swipe left/right on cover to change track.

When you load the Springsteen disk - exactly what menus are shown -
besides the "CD Track - raw format " and "Eject CD" ?

The disk has a CD-Text facility (not all CD have it) which might explain
the double TOC.

It's odd. It may be a PCP thing (e.g. Perl version) - I'll have to go
back through this thread and see if somebody posted a PCP specific
hack.
I don't like the double read of TOC - something is off.
You are using the WebGUI and not another Jive or other controller -
they do things differently ?

I have the exact same version of icedax, so it's not the format.

Songs are extracted from the CD by cdda2wav and it formats them into
WAV.
However your log shows that CDplayer plugin never gets as far as
transcoding - the zero duration is stopping the playing.

Tried with a different cd. Same outcome... track shows as playing but
there's no sound.

(What's crazy is that I stumbled through the windows install finally,
and both cds play okay with sound on any player)

Naive question: is the song format a wav file? Can pcp play wavs? I'm
clutching at straws

I found your CD (
https://musicbrainz.org/cdtoc/LhmA8KXkeU5VZPrbgpj4Zx4R.X0- )

Data looks OK and MB data can only be found if it read duration OK.

Does the "CD Track - raw format" menu behave any differently ?

Does it behave the same with other CDs (just in case drive is having a
problem with a particular CD) ?

OK - it is reading the TOC of the CD but it seems to either read it
multiple times or there is an error.

AFAICT The track won't play because the duration the plugin found is
zero - so no point in point.

The plugin parses the output of cdd2wav - it's possible you have got a
different version and the parse is failing.

What version of cdda2wav is installed ?

As I don't have your CD, can you paste the TOC using the command below -
the TOC drives everything. Although from the TOC, the plugin has managed
to identify the Disk.
CDDA2WAV DEVICE=/DEV/SR0 -VERBOSE-LEVEL=TOC -N -G -J

If necessary I'll fake the TOC using the data you post to see what
happens on my system (but'll be tomorrow)

My above post from January seems to have gotten lost in the sauce here.
Any advice? (Since then, I've switched to Andy's UPnP plugin and been
using LMS as just a server, using the mconnect iOS app as the conduit
between it and my Onkyo. I'd like to gain the advantages, if any, to
using Phillipe's bridge instead.)

That all looks good.

Not sure what you mean by an Android shell - I'll assume you are ssh'ing
into PCP.

Next level to test the CDplayer from WebGUI

1. Since you have /dev/sr0 and not /dev/cdrom - the "CD device name" in
CDplayer plugin settings should be /dev/sr0.

2. Check file WebUI/Setting/Advanced/Filetype types.
I'll assume you have not changed the standard convert.conf settings and
there are no custom-convert.conf setting to change Flac processing
(e.g. flc-flc transcode )
The settings for "CD player" should be as below and all enabled.
Flac (R) cdda2wav/flac

1. Installed the pcp cdda2wav extension. - plugin is 1.11
2.device is /dev/sr0
3.scanbus works
4 cdda2wav command line works - gives full details

I'm using an android shell to check the above - can't figure out how to
get a copy of the output. It all looks okay - no errors.

OK, so this took some time.

I haven't been able to get a working docker/mDNS setup with a "sidecar"
avahi container (reflector).

As mentioned, the easiest option is to have the container running with a
dedicated IP on the network. MACVLAN is the de facto option but as it
creates a dedicated MAC address, it doesn't work if the docker host is a
VMware guest with the default security settings, because they forbid MAC
address forgery.

Instead, I went down the IPVLAN route and this works fine.

Also, I have a common backend network between this container and an
haproxy container, because I also want to have the UI on TLS (the
players are still doing plaintext http on port 9000, though).

I created the IPVLAN network with this command:

Code:

  docker network create -d ipvlan --subnet a.b.c.0/24 --ip-range a.b.c.64/28
--gateway a.b.c.1 -o parent=eth0 myipvlan

And this is my docker-compose file

Code:

  version: '3.8'
  services:
  lms:
  image: lmscommunity/logitechmediaserver:stable
  container_name: lms
  restart: unless-stopped
  logging:

  - /mnt/music:/music
  - ./playlist:/playlist
  - /usr/share/zoneinfo/Europe/Zurich:/etc/localtime:ro
  environment:
  - PUID=1000
  - PGID=1000
  networks:
  myipvlan:
  ipv4_address: a.b.c.64
  haproxy_back:
  ports:
  - 9000:9000/tcp
  - 9090:9090/tcp
  - 3483:3483/tcp
  - 3483:3483/udp
  networks:
  myipvlan:
  external:
  name: myipvlan
  haproxy_back:
  external: true

Cheers and thanks for the hints!

With Windows there have been occasions where a user have never got the
plugin work. Whereas with Linux base systems, I know of no total
failures.

If filetypes are involved -then something weird has happened.

The plugin can only play normal audio CDs - it cannot play CDROMs with
MP3 files.

Deal with the problem by testing the different layers and build on
getting each layer to work.

First - prove the CD drive reads disks with cddawav. This may involve
permissions (I don't know PCP so I'm going on generalities).

1. What is the version of the application install and its name icedax or
cdda2wav ?
2. is there a /dev/cdrom device when cd drive is plugged in ?
3. does the following work *cdda2wav -scanbus* ?
4. Insert a normnal audio CD into drive, let it settle (wait till all
the whirring stops) and try the following command *cdda2wav
device=/dev/cdrom -verbose-level=toc -N -g -J *

Maybe not so good an idea... Got an Asus player this morning. After a
lot of cable switching (and an extension update) the player is finally
appearing in PCP lms server.

The disc is read and listed - problem is that nothing plays on any
player. The now playing page just shows the track detail and the play
line is stubbornly stuck at 0.

I'm sort of stuck.

I suspect it may have something to do with file types. I disabled the
mp3 file type and the track started playing on a Radio but without any
sound.

...and I thought Windows was a pain

I wanted to include the Bliss-analysis as well :p It didn't immediately
work out for me, so I've now basically reset the whole music-similarity
setup on my machine, to make sure everything was the latest version. I
got "PATH" errors on essentia, solved those by removing the

Musly, solved those by explicitly setting it in config.json. I now find,
when just launching "./music-similarity.py -a m -l DEBUG 2>&1 | tee
/mnt/SIXTB/Data/musicsimilarity_Analysis.log" that I get "Thread
exception? - 5 values for 3 columns" errors in the log. I don't know
which analyser they're from, as I don't get them when running in
"forced" mode for any of the individual analysers, nor in "-f meb" mode
...
It would be nice to get to the bottom of this, as adding music to the
collection should only neccessitate those added songs to be analysed,
which of course isn't possible with forced mode (unless I misunderstood
it ...)

Not looked at the logs, yet, but you don't need to re-analyse. The DB
should contain all the required info. This config just allows you to
specify that for the initial similarity that you want to combine Musly &
Essentia. It was jsut to replace the prebious UI setting that you had
used. The data required is the same as before.

"--force" is used to force the analysis code to re-run. This is used,
for instance, to re-read the Essentia JSON files if I were to ever use a
new value from there.

Thanks Craig,
This plugin is becoming very sophisticated.
Until now I created the genre groups within the MusicIP software itself,
but this was very tedious. Your method is a lot simpler :D
