Both folders were present, each with a bliss-mixer file within, but in
neither case could I get it to run. I was running the commands from
within each directory as advised.

However:

I tried this, restarted LMS, and the logs report success in finding the
bliss-mixer binary. Ran a 'create bliss mix' on a file via Material
interface - and BINGO!

The PlayHLS plugin seems to be preventing updating of playlists when a
track is added to a playlist using "Add to playlist" in material skin.
https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?p=1052251
If I uninstall the plugin the playlist is updated correctly.

If you look at posts a few months ago, there was a very very long
interaction with another user where a CD drive just didn't work on a Pi.
In the end - gave up trying to make the drive work with the Pi.

So be prepared - some CD/DVD/BD drives do not work on some Pis - not
sure the reason.
I tested two different drives on my Pi3 & Pi4 and they worked OK with no
special tweak or changes except using a USB hub as I have USB mouse and
keyboard.

Main issue - POWER.

If you can - make sure CD drive is powered separate through a separate
USB hub.

In the meantime - full details - so that perhaps I can test a simlar
setup.
What model Pi ?
What model CD/DVD drive ?
Does CD drive have a USB Y-connector or its own separate power supply ?
What other USB devices are plugged into the Pi ?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CDplayer plugin

2022-04-10 Thread papaiannis

The cdplayer plugin works great and fast with a cdrom USB unit plugged
into a LMS v8.3.0 Ubuntu server.
Unfortunatley, when I plug the same device into a picoreplayer v8.1.0
machine, I obtain the following message:
"The CDROM drive is not ready.(3)"

The LMS logfile (in debug mode) reports the following:

Hereafter I report the output of the wodim and cdda2wav commands:

You should not need sudo, and should only use sudo for root commands.
Does bliss-mixer reside in the directories? Is it executable? You need
to be within the directory to run "./bliss-mixer"

OK,

does not exist, but the following -should- exist:

/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/BlissMixer/Bin/arm-linux/bliss-mixer

Do either of these run? e.g.

Make sure whatever connection type you use to install Jivelite is the
same one you use to connect. In other words, if you install Jivelite
using ethernet, you have to run your piCorePlayer using ethernet. If you
haven't just uninstall and reinstall using whatever method you're going
to run your player with.

Hmmm My Pi4 is still on 32-bit, so have not tested. In "/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/BlissMixer/Bin" there will be
"armhf-linux" and "arm-linux" - does the "bliss-mixer" in ether of these
run from the commandline? Try "./bliss-mixer --help" in each folder.

If you enable logging (not sure what level, debug?) for "os.paths",
select "Save logging settings for use at next application restart" and
restart LMS, then "Logs/server.log" should have lines with
"Slim::Utils::Misc::findbin (116) Checking for bliss-mixer in" -- what

I did the analysis on a Windows machine, which worked OK, and got the
file paths to match - my music folder on the RPi is 'media/music_main/'
- so I don't think that's the issue.

Also had to copy the database across manually, after getting the
Code:

Failed to ask LMS plugin to allow upload.
http://192.168.0.243:9000/jsonrpc.js: Network Error: Unexpected EOF

error, so would that seem to indicate that the mixer just isn't
starting?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Vortexbox Reboot problem

2022-04-10 Thread barnyruble

Hello, I posted this over on the VortexBox forum but no takers and
thought I'd give it a shot here. I've pretty much exhausted my research.
Would like to see if anyone here has run into this issue before I
reformat the drive.

I have a VB running VB 2.5 on Fedora 25 on it's own Micro ITX comp
setup. I run the GUI on my Windows 10 comp. Over the last month the
reboot on the VB GUI seems to disconnect the system from the network. I
have to hard shutdown the VB in order to get it back and some times it
takes a couple times to get it back, but once it reconnects it works
fine. The "Power Down" works, it's just the "Reboot".

I've tried a couple different things like logging into the system using
Putty and doing a "fix_network rebuild". Also tried "dnf -y update" with
no luck.

Is there any other command lines I could try to fix it or is this a
corrupted system that is going to need to be reformatted and start over
and is there a way to just load VB without reformatting everything.

Kind regards

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin

Looks like that might be it.

This should be addressed in the next 8.3 build. Please give it a try.
