Hi Craig,

Would it be possible to have the power button (upper left corner, when
configured to be shown) act like a toggle? Right now, pressing it,
switches the player off. Pressing it again doesn't switch the player
back on though.

PS. After having used "the other app" for many many years, I discovered
your Material Skin last week. It is a pleasure to use, both on the
iPhone and iPad. Thank you !!

In my case it was Firefox Focus extension on Safari that was causing

I have two Radios running with the latest community firmware, and am a
regular/prolific user of BBC Sounds. I have not noted any instances of
audio stuttering on either Radio. But I’ll keep an ear open.

Perhaps worth noting that I do use the ‘native’ playback option, so any
issue with the AAC decoding changes ought to show up.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Community Firmware for Squeezebox Radio/Touch/Controller and LMS 8

2022-11-21 Thread expectingtofly

I have had a couple of bugs raised on the BBC Sounds Plugin repository
relating to audio stuttering :
https://github.com/expectingtofly/LMS_BBC_Sounds_Plugin/issues/134

Both reports are using Squeezebox radio's with the community firmware.
The BBC Streams are AAC 320kbs@48000, so quite high bitrate.
They have provided server logs to me that shows that there are no issues
getting audio data out server side (in fact the opposite is true). So
it appears the problem is in the audio decoding on the radio.

As I have had 2 reports of this problem, I wonder if this has anything
to do with the AAC decoding changes in the new version of the firmware?

Thanks again. Pairing completes quickly and painlessly with this update
but now that the ATV is paired it cannot play any audio!
The ATV also occasionally and randomly disappears
from the list of available players in LMS. Logs record the bridge
crashing but all other airplay players are available while the ATV is
absent. I've cleaned the config.xml and removed and reinstalled the
bridge to see if it would make a difference but no joy. Server and

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Sync mobile to LMS server (ratings, play count, ...)

2022-11-21 Thread waldo

Hi,
reaching the point where a new mobile is needed and one feature I keep
missing is the possibility to sync ratings and play count between my
mobile (iPhone 6) and LMS server at home.
There is iTunes plugin but never managed to make it work 100% in my
environment (mainly because my library is FLAC running in a Pi).
Is there any app for Android or iPhone that would help me achieve this?
hints and suggestions welcome though it would be nice to hear something
being actually used.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Jivelite needs a version bump

2022-11-21 Thread ralphy

The jivelite extension has been upgraded for picoreplayer 8.x, it now
reports 8.0.0 as the version to LMS.

To update, navigate to the Tweaks page in the pcp webadmin and click the
Update button in the Jivelite Setup section.

If you've installed the work around from post '#2'
you should delete the file /home/tc/.jivelite/userpath/jive/JiveMain.lua
and backup the configuration to remove it before installed the new
build.

Using the work around jivelite still reports the version as 0.1.0 in
/var/log/jivelite.log

Code:

cat /var/log/jivelite.log
Using /dev/fb0 as frame buffer device.
Frame rate set to 22 frames per second.
Frame buffer color bit depth set to 32.

  JiveLite 0.1.0

The updated extension reports the modified version and revision.

Code:

cat /var/log/jivelite.log
Using /dev/fb0 as frame buffer device.
Frame rate set to 22 frames per second.
Frame buffer color bit depth set to 32.

  JiveLite 8.0.0-r208

2022-11-21 Thread philippe_44

@BoomX2: I recently had an issue with a conflict between SuperDateTime
and my AirPlay bridge plugin.

We both use Math::BigInt::LTM and yours take precedence (maybe because
your plugin is registered after mine, in alphabetical order or because
your version is more recent, I don't know). The problem is that LTM
should provide functions like _to_hex() that are not in Perl but part of
C-compiled XS. AFAIK, you do not provide these compiled libraries, so my
call to _to_hex which is redirected to your LTM fails.

I'm not sure I have a great solution to offer as adding all the compiled
libraries for all platform is a royal pain. If you are 100% sure you
need LTM and not just maybe a fucntion or two that could be isolated,
then maybe we can discuss with @mherger to include Math::BigInt::LTM in
LMS...

The "changes" section in the XML need a to close it.

FYI regarding the checksum - if you are working on Windows then there is
(was?) a Microsoft tool called fciv (File Checksum Integrity Verifier -
downloadable from their site)
fciv -sha1 filename

Also - I sometimes use a Windows Explorer plugin from Z-Zip
Right click on a file in Windows Explorer and you get a menu item "CRC
SHA"
choose SHA 1 - double click on the result and you can ^c copy it.

Also - make sure that your checksum is all lowercase.
It matters for LMS prior to 8.3

Version 1.1.0.9 should take care of pairing (it's better to stop the
bridge before doing the pairing BTW). Now, there is a conflict with the
plugin SuperDateTime that overwrite a system's calls. In case you have
it, just disable it for the time of pairing

Noted, I will remember that. Thanks

Hopefully this will be seen as a helpful suggestion - I used to use a
VPN connection to stream to my workplace, but had some significant
issues with it.

What I ended up doing was to make a tiny portable server with a
Raspberry Pi Nano version 2 and a 2Tb SSD drive, small, portable, and
can be used as a standalone device not needing to connect to a wifi
network (but of course it can do).

Another approach I've used, since I usually travel with my laptop, is to
have LMS on the laptop and just carry a portable hard drive copy of the
library.
