I have switched to using the Logitech Spotify app for navigation, which unfortunately means all my lovingly 'curated' playlist folders are now useless. Let's hope Spotify add folder functionality to the web API at some point. I see that Spotify have finally got round to updating the functionality of their iPad app to include the Your Music section. Are they any closer to exposing this on the API that this plugin uses? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)
Hi, I have had to install LMS 7.7.4 on my Mac mini as I've just (foolishly) upgraded to OS X Yosemite and there's a problem with the Perl libraries (as I understand it, which is to say that I don't understand it! :( ). Unfortunately, I am now unable to install either Triode's BBC iPlayer or his Spotify app. Is this more likely to be a problem with the apps themselves or with this new version of the server? The plugins appear in the list of available plugins but are still there after they have been selected for activation and the server restarted. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)
The Triode plugin doesn't seem to encounter any problems on my WHS box but has stopped working on my Mac Mini. The helper app is running and I can logon to Spotify but the streaming fails. Nothing has changed since yesterday when both were working fine. Has anyone else experienced this platform-specific behaviour? Jens_dk wrote: Are you sure that the same problem is not on the WHS box. I am asking because it seams the Spotify problem is not persistent. It happens that no problems occur for a shorter period of time. So it could be that you tested the WHS box during such a troublefree period. Jens I'm testing them side by side at the moment and the WHS has no problems. When I stop the stream and then try from the mac, it claims the helper app is running and that I'm logged in, but it won't stream. It will send the album art though, so there's some sort of connection there. I've only had the mac up and running for a couple of weeks, but it's been fine until today. Given I'm not actually familiar with the workings of OS X, can anyone tell me where to find the log? Triode wrote: Does the self test work? Sounds like a firewall problem to me, which may be best resolved by removing and reinstalling the plugin and ensuring you select allow when the firewall pops up to ask if it is ok for the spotifyd app to use the network. The Self Test passes the first 3 tests but fails on the Streaming step. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin but this doesn't seem to make any difference. I'm not offered any chance to influence the firewall settings. My Windows-centric upbringing has left me a little clueless as to what to do on a mac to check this stuff although, as I said, it's been working fine since I installed it a couple of weeks ago and nothing's changed. I'd also like to add that this plugin has completely changed the way that I listen to music and saved me thousands of pounds in wasted CD purchases, so please don't mistake me as someone who's criticising it. I love it! I've got to retire the WHS box because it seems to eat hard drives and I'm fed up having to restore from a backup on a weekly basis, so if I can't get the plugin working again on the mac, I'm going to cry. A lot. Triode wrote: Spotify is not working for me in the UK at present so a problem at the spotify end could be the cause. However if it all works except streaming then the firewall is a possible problem. Suggest you watch https://twitter.com/spotifystatus and try again when they claim it to be working... It's still working fine on the WHS box and I can stream quite happily, but the mac refuses to play ball. The mac's firewall is turned off and both the WHS box and the mac are ethernet to the same router. Curiouser and curiouser... Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)
My Squeezebox servers also started doing this about 3 days ago: allowing me to select a track but then just moving from track to track in the playlist, about 10 secs each, without any sound. One server is running on a WHS box and another on a laptop with Windows 7. My Spotify account is still fine as it works through my iPhone. Were there any updates to the plug-in a few days ago that might not agree with my set-up? I've not changed any firewall settings here.
