Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)
piCorePlayer v8.2.0 Raspberry Pi 2 v1.1 Chromecast bridge v1.82.2 Hi, I've paired two Nest Mini (2nd gen) speakers to form a stereo pair. I've selected the stereo pair by their paired name from the list of players in plugin's settings page. When controlling the speakers the paired volume will not exceed 50%. When Squeezebox volume = 100% the Nest Mini pair = 50%. I can increase the volume up to 100% via the Google Home app, but this isn't really an ideal long-term solution. Is there something I can do to make this a little more user-friendly or might you need to tweak things at your end? Thanks very much for your help. I hadn't thought of powerline, but it might be worth a go before I start drilling. The room is on the same circuit as the rest of the house so in theory it should work. Though I'd prefer not to spend another couple hundred if it's not 99% guaranteed. Plus I'm running out of wall sockets. If the budget end of the market - -like the £25 TP-link stuff- - will do the job then it's a gamble worth taking. If not then I've already got the cable and sockets for my plan to connect up the outside workshop. I do have issues with audio files streamed from a squeezebox server or nas located downstairs. Anything of 192kbs+ and it can't cope. Live 320Kbs streams will dropout after a few seconds or sometimes fail to start. On-demand 320kbs can have a significant delay before starting and thereafter the stream is interrupted every 10 -30 seconds or so. However, I have a homemade solution. After a hard won argument I have been granted permission to fit a chain of (tasteful) RJ45 sockets to connect the dead room to a mesh node in another distant upstairs room. After successfully testing this out with metres and metres of cable I'm convinced this plan will work. Or it won't and I'll be sleeping in the doghouse for the next 6 months. bpa wrote: > What is the bit rate of your ISP link > 320kbps to have dropouts due to ISP would mean having an ISP link of > less than 1Mbps ? The bit rate is fine. The LMS 8.0 on picore provides a perfect 320kbs iPlayer stream when connected by cable directly to the router. The problem is the old house prevents me from connecting the player/room to a cable. As a hoped for remedy I've stumped up for a mesh system to provide the bridge between superfast downstairs and the dead zone upstairs. And lo! it works perfectly, providing consistent and fast wi-fi throughout the house. With the one exception of the room in which the player is located. Where the mesh can't quite manage a 320Kbs signal. I've just tested the 135kbs stream and it works without fault. Saved as a favourite I can now listen to a live stream. Which is fantastic. Though I'm still missing the listen-again option. Is there any way I can tweak the listen-again to default to this bit rate? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer V1.6 (and higher) & BBCiPlayerExtra 2.0 (and higher) Support
Sorry for asking this again. I think my original request was lost amidst the need to fix more important issues. If possible please could you add the option to select 128Kbs DASH Live & On Demand streams in the BBCiPlayer v1.6 plugin? I listen almost exclusively to R3 and often have constant dropouts at 320kbs. I've spent a small fortune on MESH Wi-Fi to improve the connection throughout the house but in the far reaches of my estate the 320Kbs stream is still not reliable. And the 48kbps Lowest Bitrate option is a bit rough for my sensitive ears. Thanks for considering this request.
