Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Bookmark LastFM User station

2008-01-09 Thread Jeepie

OK. I didn't manage to use the right button from now playing to store
the favourite.

Do you know if it would be possible to tune in via a hyperlink - just
for example - like this http://www.mylastfmuser.com/live.m3u? I am not
sure how Last FM links to the music sources so any advice appreciated.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Bookmark LastFM User station

2008-01-06 Thread Jeepie

Hi,

Does anyone know if it's possible to bookmark another users' LastFM
recommended radio station? The background to this is I tend to listen
to one type of music for a while and then change to another type. This
means that I find neighbours whose stations I like (and wish to
bookmark) but I'm worried these will disappear when I go into my music
to sleep to phase, for example.

I am using SqueezeCenter 7. When I click Favourites I go to Favourites.
When I click Add on the users' recommendations i.e. play lastfm users'
recommendations via the menu, it crashes my slim server.

Any ideas much appreciated.

Cheers

J

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Bookmark LastFM User station

2008-01-06 Thread Jeepie

Hi James,

Thanks for your reply.

I've just done a retest. Let me know if these steps cause your
slimserver to crash. I can send you screenshots. I think it's maybe
because what I'm trying to do is not possible...

I am using the player. Not the web browser. If it's possible to add
this user's recommended lastfm station via the web browser that will be
fine too. Let me have your thoughts on that when you've a mo.

On the player here's the navigation:

Internet Radio Last FM Choose Station Browse neighbours Play
lastfm user neighbours Click down arrow Play lastfm user
recommended.

This last link is what I'd like to add to my favourites or bookmark in
some way

If I click and hold the add key then my player freezes. After 1 minute
or so I'll get a windows popup saying SQUEEZE~.exe crashed.

Any thoughts?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Bookmark LastFM User station

2008-01-06 Thread Jeepie

ok. I'll have a play.

The way I add favourites at the moment is to use the right arrow on my
remote. However, doesn't this make the station start to stream/play in
Last FM? Did you mean to use the right button on the remote?

Thanks a lot for your help

Thanks for your reply. Still no joy. It doesn't seem to be picking up
the add-on from the add-ons folder.

Any ideas of other installation methods? Is it necessary to edit the
opml files do you know?

Thanks for your help

Idea -

what size is your working WikiRadio.pm file?

Can you post your file so I can try it instead? Mine is only 1k.
However, on the website there are a variety of WikiRadio.pm files.

Not sure if this is a good idea but any thoughts appreciated

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] WikiRadio on SqueezeCenter.... How to.

2008-01-05 Thread Jeepie

Fixed I think!

Yippie

Here's what I did. I followed bpa's instructions and reset the menu.
When I did this I read that you could edit the Alien BBC menu also., so
that's what I did. I then imported the:

C:\Program
Files\SqueezeCenter\server\Plugins\Alien\Addons\WikiRadio.opml

file, and bounce my SqueezeCenter.

My imported menu item was available and all the items from
http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.cgi?WikiRadio are available

Is this what I actually should have done all along?

Many thanks for your help bpa.

Cheers

[SlimDevices: Plugins] WikiRadio on SqueezeCenter.... How to.

2008-01-04 Thread Jeepie

OK. I've followed the process documented in

http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=39569highlight=wikiradio

I am using SqueezeCenter Version: 7.0 - 14805 - Windows XP - EN -
cp1252 and have Alien BBC working grand, but have not used WikiRadio
before.

I added the two files listed to the Alien Addons directory.

What should I be expected to see please? I don't think this has worked
for me. Also how can I test it by adding this stream?

Many thanks

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Waiting for LastFM track details...

2007-11-23 Thread Jeepie

Splendid. All working like a dream now.

Summary:

What I did incorrectly

Downloaded from

http://downloads.sourceforge.net/slimscrobbler/SqueezeScrobbler_v1.zip

and unzipped to

C:\Program Files\SqueezeCenter\server\Plugins\SqueezeScrobble r_v1.0

Thanks to James and Vrobin what I should have done is:

Unzipped to

C:\Program Files\SqueezeCenter\server\Plugins\SqueezeScrobbler

and restarted and that's it, but having done this incorrectly i had to
reinstalled SqueezeCenter.

Thanks for your help chaps. What a delicious plug-in. How good is
last.fm?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Waiting for LastFM track details...

2007-11-18 Thread Jeepie

Hi there,

The latest status if that I've upgraded to:

SqueezeCenter Version: 7.0 - 14805 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252

I reinstalled Alien BBC which I also luv. Then I reinstalled the
Last.fm Audioscrobbler for 7.0 (Squeeze Scrobbler) from
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=38845.

I unzipped this to C:\Program
Files\SqueezeCenter\server\Plugins\SqueezeScrobbler_v1.0. I see that
James had made some comments about the UI and that's fine.

Under Extras, I have Last.fm Audioscrobbler and under Settings I
entered my username and password as saved this.

Then I restarted by squeezecenter and tested.

I can see the plugin:

PLUGIN_LASTFM_MODULE_NAME.

Then I can browse neighbourhood and recommended as before.

Now when I choose recommended (which is what I so love about Last FM) I
get:

PLUGIN_LASTFM_WAIT indefinitely

Clicking the right button just loops round to the
PLUGIN_LASTFM_MODULE_NAME start menu.

Can anyone tell me what's supposed to happen? I tried going back to
where you enter your username and password and entered an incorrect
password and was informed this was incorrect by the web UI so I don't
think this is an issue.

Many thanks.

Cheers

Jeepie

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Waiting for LastFM track details...

2007-11-18 Thread Jeepie

On the website link to
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/slimscrobbler/SqueezeScrobbler_v1.zip
the folder when unzipped on to disk is:

119 kb
156 kb on disk
with 16 files and 12 folders.

Can anyone confirm this is correct?

SqueezeScrobbler directory should contain Plugin.pm etc. and
ScrobbleSupport, but in my case they are not there.

Is there any alternative zip file location?

Thanks

J

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Waiting for LastFM track details...

2007-11-18 Thread Jeepie

Thanks vrobin. Appreciate your message.

Hmm.ok. I notice that you are on UNIX. I'm Windows. I understand
this plug is platform independentjust thinking out loud.

I have under extras:

Last.fm Audioscrobbler
LastFM / SqueezeScrobbler

Do you?

The new 7.0 SC was installed to a new parent dir, and I wasn't sure
what to do with the old slim server one, but perhaps I should just
delete the old slim server folder? I assumed it was just being ignored
but may be it isn't?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Waiting for LastFM track details...

2007-11-17 Thread Jeepie

I've installed the LastFM plug-in for the first time. Everything seemed
to go fine. It showed up in the internet radio. I configured it through
server settings. But now when I come to play it it says Waiting for
LastFM track details... indefinitely, and never actually says
Connected to LastFM.

I did read about some issues with LastFM changing the web streaming
format, so should this plugin be working now?

I am using

SlimServer Version: 6.5.3 - 12376 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks Jeepie

just reinstalled Alien BBC after a protracted rebuild of lappie and
routerhad exactly this problem so thanks for the solution.

How about fleshing this out a bit as suggested?

Possible solution:
Try Ian Cook's patched socketwrapper from
