I tried turning off both Anti-virus (AVG) Firewall, but it made no difference. Oh well, at least I'm not alone! Is the procedure now to just wait for a fix? Should this be reported as a bug? Is there an archive of earlier builds that I could try in the meantime? [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC - Error: Can't open remote URL
After owning a Squeezebox for a couple of days now I have most things working OK except for the BBC radio. I am using SlimServer 6.5b1-8224 AlienBBC 1.04 plugin. Whenever I try to play a BBC stream (live or archive) I get an error message such as: Error: can't open remote URL http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/realmedia/fmg2.rpm; This is the same whether I try to run from the Squeezebox or from the SlimServer web interface. The BBC streams play OK when performing the 'mplayer' test. I have tried all the suggestions on the forums: * Tried different versions of SlimServer AlienBBC - manual automatic install of the latter. * Increased network timeout to 15s. * Used Ian Cook's modified socketwrapper I've run out of ideasany suggestions?
