Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Would it be possible to build a fast forward/backward function into iPeng, in addition to the next/previous track? Using the time bar to move forward/backward within a track is too crude. Generally, I'm seeing a few more crashes in iOS 5 than I saw with previous versions with the only real cause I can identify (but which is hard to fix) being issues with frequently connecting and disconnecting players on the server side or with certain types of connection losses (to the server) which get the server into a mode where it bombs iPeng with data but I believe that latter one should have become better with the recent updates. Generally, I'm happy about anything reproducible :) There's also an update for iPeng for iPad waiting in the App Store which has a few fixes but I don't think there's anything in there that should be related to Rhapsody. It happened when I tried to access My Library within Rhapsody. But then again, I almost exclusively go to My Library when using Rhapsody, so I wouldn't know if iPeng would crash in other sections of Rhapsody. I use MySB.com. BTW, I flushed the cache from the settings menu (of iPeng) and iPeng hasn't crashed since even in Rhapsody. Does the size of the cache have anything to do with crashes in general? In any event, I'll report back on whether the cache removal did really help or not. -- New Daddy New Daddy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=20745 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

My iPeng, the latest version, keeps crashing in iOS 5. It may happen in other circumstances, but iPeng quits when I try Rhapsody. about 8 out of 10 times. I've just gone over the recent postings, and it appears that not everyone is having this problem. Have you thought about turning your very first post into an FAQ? At other forums (XDA-developers.com for example), I've seen developers reserving the first (or first few) posts for FAQ, new announcements, etc. It will make many people's lives easier. I mean: it asks the server for the currently playing track. So if the result is wrong it should be the server reporting something wrong. For the NowPlaying screen saver iPeng doesn't look up stuff in internal playlists or something, it shows the information straight from the server notification. NOW IF THE SERVER REPORTS SOMETHING WRONG, I'D EXPECT IT TO DO THIS THROUGH _ALL_ INTERFACES, NOT JUST IPENG. REALLY WEIRD. I HAVE TO SEE WHETHER I CAN GET RHAPSODY TO PLAY SOMETHING AGAIN HERE (THERE HAVE BEEN BUGS WITH MYSQUEEZEBOX.COM PREVENTING THIS FOR QUITE A WHILE) TO REPRODUCE THIS. May I ask you to file a ticket on this? https://trac.penguinlovesmusic.de/trac/ipengnat/ You don't happen to have any SqueezePlay based device (Radio, Touch, Controller) to verify what happens on these devices (they use the same interface as iPeng)? I've been trying different things, and I just noticed that the LCD display on my SB Boom is also often one track ahead when I listen to Rhapsody playlists. I think this error is on the part of Rhapsody, not iPeng. Sorry I overlooked this possibility. The LCD display on my SB Boom is so small I rarely pay any attention to it.
