Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Dynamic Playlists 4

2022-12-30 Thread SlimChances

I wondered if Dynamic Playlists 4 will work with Trackstat. I like
Ratings Light but one feature seems to be absent that I particularly
like. Trackstat updates ratings of albums based on plays and unless I
misunderstand how Ratings Light works it does not automatically rate
albums in this way. I realise at some point Trackstat may no longer work
as it is no longer supported
Thanks

I am getting a weird pattern of flashing green bars at the bottom of
Material. It only appears on the Material page on my Linux Mint PC on
Brave browser (a chrome browser). Does not seem to happen on Firefox
with Material . Admittedly my computer is brand new, just built and I
am working out the kinks. I don't mind going into the developer's
console if you can specify where I should look. Screenshot attached.
Look at bottom where the track Let it Rain is

My apologies for the slight. It was not deserved. I believe I was able
to save in a favourite folder in Erland's DP playlists customised by
genre, year and possibly trackstat rating(it was not in the main
favourite folder but rather in a separate favourite folder under the
original DP. I still have those old playlists on my system but because I
am no longer using MultiLibrary but rather Library views they will not
work with DPL3 to my knowledge. My knowledge of how to edit the
playlists is limited not by your fine work but my own lack of
understanding of SQL language

Thanks
I see the edit in favourites both in Material and Default skins but I do
not know how to modify it to find the genres I specified originally.
It's not too much bother to recreate a new DPL from the DPL3 selection
but it seems a bit of a regression from Erlands DP which survived clear
library rescans. I guess most people don't scan that way other than
infrequently

I have created a favourite and as the FAQ section explains it will
survive a rescan but a scan/delete will not work if the DPL favourite
has for example specific genres delimited. While I see the favourite
listed it no longer functions after a rescan/delete and I am not sure
how I go about editing it as I don't know where the sql file is. It is
not in the DPL-custom-lists folder anywhere. It is an old habit I guess
but I always do a scan/delete as I have found a scan will not list my
MusicIp files correctly

I am having a minor issue with Screen Switcher. I have it set up to
switch from text clock to Album flow to Custom Clock. Mostly it works
fine but sometimes it gets stuck at one screen, usually text clock. I I
go into player settings/screen and play around by selecting another
screen and then re-enabling Screen Switcher it works again. Is there
some way I can tweak this so it doesn't get stuck on one screen?

In the past I was able to click on the artist or album in the playlist
and get a list of albums of that artist in the left column or in the
latter case the albums track listing. That functionality seems to be
gone. It was a great way of adding more songs to a playlist quickly by
that artist. Is there any chance that function can be restored or does
it interfere with some other feature?

must be something wrong with my install. I would uninstall and then
reinstall but don't know how as it is absent from the plugin page

I download the LMS. I stop the server. And then install through gdebi
the amd64.deb version. Then restart server. Everything is in order after
the upgrade except the multilibrary designations which are often

This is a bit over my head Erland but I ran a Free Form Query and get
this result, does that tell us anything?

I have several multilibrary files but could not find
multilibrary_libraries table. Where is that located? Looked where the
multilibrary_standard are located and in the Cache file for LMS. I am
using Linux Mint

Thanks Erland. The setting seems to survive some updates but not most.

Here is an example. I have 2 libraries, Flac and MP3. Under Dynamic
Library I have a favourite configured for "Random Albums for the Decade"
that is delimited to the FLAC library. If I update LMS to a new version
the library selection goes blank and I have to reset it back to FLAC.
That is not a big deal but I have to do this about a dozen times to
cover my Custom Browse and Dynamic Library settings. It has been this
way since I installed Erland's plugins 7 years ago or so

Thank you for looking into this.
I guess Startibartfast is correct that turning off software updates in
server settings has no effect on firmware updates. It might make it less
confusing if the player notification said firmware rather than software
updates are ready to download/install

Sorry for my error, the Touch is the first device I have ever used SSH
on

Here is the output in log1 after I changed the log setting. I then
restarted the touch (repowered) and was greeted with the message begin
update (8.0.1 r16835).
I then got the log output again in case it was needed (log2)
I hope that is enough info.
Thanks for your help

The log is attached. I am not quite sure how to set squeezebox server

Sorry if this has been covered I have difficulty using the search option

I have Firmware: 8.0.1-r16824 on my Touch and I keep getting a prompt to
update software on the player. I set software updates off in server

update the firmware occasionally but not frequently because I have some
custom mods to the firmware that need to be reinstalled via SSH each

Problem solved. I havve had this problem frequenty happening with
Dynamic Playlists when I updated LMS to a newer version; the setting for
library (I have multi library installed) gets deleted and I have to
reset it in SQL Playlists. This time it happened in my Custom Browse
menu settings. I went into Custom Browse settings and opened Manage
Menus and clicked on the menus to adjust the library setting.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New versions of erlands plugins

2021-02-07 Thread SlimChances

I have been using Custom Browse for several years including installs
with LMS 8 and 8.1 sucessfully. I now find that a number (most) of the
menus do not return any results. These include album, artist, genre, new
artist, new album. menus that do get results are year and playlist. I
know that the plugin is not supported as it once was but I was hoping to
get a bit more use from it. My last attempt to correct this issue was to
upgrade to LMS 8.2 as it has better support for Erland's plugins. Also
not working quite right is Trackstat which just returns and empty screen
when selected but I still appear to have tracks with ratings. Everything
was working a short time ago, not quite sure what has changed.

Yes I think that is how I did the upgrade. Good luck. There was one
plugin (not listed) of Erlands that would not install, I forget which
one. The main ones like multilibrary, dynamic playlist , custom clock and
trackstat work fine and I use quite freqently. Note with custom clock
any URLs in the player configuration will probably no longer work. I had
SSH into the player and change a few settings

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Erlands commercial plugins available for free

2020-10-16 Thread SlimChances

I have no problem with the majority of Erland's plugins on LMS 8.
I use multi library to split into FLAC vs MP3 libraries. When I use
custom browse to select by album, if I choose an album and then a
specific track in that album it plays the whole album

You need to save the preferences folder and content and replace the new
one with that. You also need to set permissions and ownership on that
folder the same as the one you replace. One last thing is when you copy
over a server.prefs file, make sure you remove the server_uuid value
before starting up the new instance, as it mightconfuse your players.

I realized I had copies of all your plugins in zip format and was able
to place the 2 plugins in the Cache/Installed Plugins folder under var
and then correct permissions. Both plugins work perfectly.
I am sorry I can not help with development, I have no skills in that

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin

Using the latest Material (1.80). I find that while listening to music
using DSTM the playlist lists tracks up to a point and then adds
tracksthrough DTSM which do not appear on the Material interface. I
thought perhaps refreshing the Firefox page would fix this but the whole
playlist disappeared, but music keeps playing

There was a button in Material that located the currently playing track.
Has that been removed? It was a useful feature to access extra menus of
a track

can play Youtube tracks I have saved in my Favorites

If you do use MusicIp I would suggest you tick the Archive option under
Preferences/General. Then you will maintain a record or fingerprint of
tracks so you won't have to rebuild your track database all over again

Simple question. To get Material on my Android device, I presume that I
have to install LMS. Which one do I download and install (the deb file
ARM based)?
I am new to Android only having just bought a Samsung Tablet and I have
never had a cell phone. I guess I am just waking up to the new
Millennium:)
