Firstly, a big thank you to Triode for Squeezelite, to which I have only just come. I just chucked LMS 7.8 and the local plug-in on an old laptop 32 bit Windows 7 bog standard, and it blew away all I have tried before. Lovely clean but analogue and relaxed but detailed sound. Most impressive. A few SQ questions from a newbie if I may: Is there any difference in SQ between a local player and streamed from a NAS by Ethernet? Is the Windows version inherently less 'good' than a Linux-based Squeezelite rig? Does optimising Windows (removing unnecessary Services etc.) improve SQ? Are there any Windows Registry settings that benefit SQ like the MMCSS service parameters for instance? Out of the box, does Squeezelite local plug-in use KS? If not, how does one set it to use KS?
