Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2018-09-15 Thread johndoe_2009

I am using iPeng on an iPad to continuously display the what's playing
screen with the covers, while a Squeezebox is playing. While the players
are on and music is running, iPeng shows all the players and the correct
what's playing screen. But after a while of being turned on (iPad is
continuously on and display showing iPeng), it looses the connection to
all players. I can only re-connect it by killing the app in the task
manager. While iPeng disconnects, the Squeezebox players continue to
play their music. In the Squeezebox environment, I do not experience any
disconnects.

Ipeng is connected to the latest LMS in local network. LMS runs on
latest Windows 10 PC.

Can you please look into this and let me know how to fix it.

Thanks.

Actually on many, sorry... iOS, Android, and Win 10. But when I powered
on the unit Wohnen I was not using native Spotify Apps, I had controlled
the Squeezebox devices only through the LMS Web Interface, and I am
quite sure that none of these native Spotify Apps had the volume set to
50%.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.3.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox

2018-07-21 Thread johndoe_2009

Volume of my Squeezebox devices get regularly set to 50% - this is quite
disturbing: imagine morning radio suddenly is at 50% from 25% Volume...

Steps to reproduce:
- newest version of Spotty and LMS
- enable local discovery in Spotty
- Set two to three players to synced - only audio, no volume sync
- Turn off one of the players and disconnect it from power
- Connect this one player back to power, so that it starts up/powers on
- Now, volume is set to one of the other (still powered on) players to
50%, once the one player is back on and synced to the two others

I believe this is a "bug"/"regression" in Spotty volume mgmt.

Can you reproduce this, and if yes, can you fix it, please?

Hello mherger,

with the latest Spotty and LMS update, faulty behavior of covers when
adding multiple times to playlist from Spotty is still the same - can be
easily reproduced with the normal LMS webui, but also on iPeng. How can
I support to better analyze the problem?

Of course, the rest of Spotty is just great - my whole family enjoys
Squeezeboxen on Spotify very much!

Hi, when adding tracks/albums from spotty to the playlist, covers are
quite "unstable". Following steps to reproduce the issue:

1. add a track/album to the playlist through spotty:

25055

list of songs are all shown with cover.

2. add an addional track or album to the same playlist:

25056

playlist now has problems with the covers...

mherger: although this is a minor issue, would be great if you could
look into this and fix it.

Other then that, Spotty is just great!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2017-12-30 Thread johndoe_2009

Hi,

iPeng on iPhone is great, I love using it. Recently I have found two
smaller things:

First - most of the times, when I re-open iPeng, it changes the volume
of the squeezebox devices. E.g.:
1. I have set up a certain volume on my devices (does not matter whether
over iPeng or over IR remotes).
2. I close the iPeng app/switch to another app on my iPhone.
3. I re-open iPeng.
4. The iPhone volume changing symbol is briefly shown, and iPeng changes
the volume of the selected Squeezebox player. When I have a group of
synced players, the volume of the whole group is changed - most of the
times, the volume is reduced.

I think the iPeng app should behave here differently. When opened or
re-opened, it should always first read the volume of the selected
Squeezebox player, and not set it automatically to the volume iPeng has
stored or believes might be the correct one. Only when the volume of a
selected player in iPeng is manually changed, it should set the volume.

Second - since approximately four weeks, iPeng takes very long to
identfiy the Squeezebox server and all connected players after a fresh
start of the app. The device overview is empty for approx 10 seconds,
then it finds the players and shows them (and most of the times, it
directly changes the volume (see my first issue) and turns it down a
notch.

While I love iPeng, especially the second issue really starts to get
annoying - as I am using iPeng as a remote, it is not acceptable to wait
for 10 seconds to access my Squeezebox players.

Can you please look into these issues?

If librespot could have 5 different instances (for the five Spotify

I prefer to have covers and metadata, even if this means no direct
access of Squeezeboxen over the native Spotify app as "Spotify Connect"
players.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Combine spotify family plugin with new Spotify & SPH plugins

2017-04-17 Thread johndoe_2009

I have tried to better understand how spotify playback is implemented
when running through compatible players (e.g. Radio, ...), and how the
SPH takes care of the un-compatible players (e.g. Transporter, Boom,
Duet, ...).

First of all, if you are lucky and only have Spotify compatbible players
(meaning: spotify playback is enabled by the firmware of thes players),
you can setup your spotify family accounts:

22520

...and attach them to each individual player on mysqueezebox.com - which
is already great:

22521

Now, each (compatible) player is running Spotify with its respective
account that has been maintained - you have full Spotify Family
support.

For the un-compatible players, SPH checks before each playback and
determines what to do. In case of a compabible player canDirectStream
(111), it lets the standard Spotify plugin take over:

(taken from server.log)
[17-04-17 14:12:36.7942]

I have tried to read and understand the Perl scripts on both

Squeezebox\server\Slim\Plugin\SpotifyLogi

and

InstalledPlugins\Plugins\SpotifyProtocolHandler.

Unfortunately I am a total newbie in Perl and Squeezebox
coding/scripting.

>From what I believe I have understood, I am thinking about the following
concept:

1. Extend the SPH settings

"C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\Plugins\SpotifyProtocolHandler\HTML\EN\plugins\SpotifyProtocolHandler\settings\basic.html"

to store let's say 6 Spotify accounts + PWs

2. When the SPH takes over Spotify streaming, get the Spotify user name
attached to the target player from the mysqueezebox.com settings.
Apparently the original Spotify already can do this in

package Slim::Plugin::SpotifyLogi::ProtocolHandler;

the sub "onStream" seems to have all the information in
"$auth->{username}", where "my $auth  = $client->pluginData('auth');"
and "$client" is sent by the external caller while calling the sub
"onStream".

Can this or something similar be used to get the user from
mysqueezebox.com from within the SPH?

3. Then login with the user we received from from 2. and take the login
PW from 1. (of course only the PW with matching users on both ends), and
start streaming over spotifyd.

What I have not yet understood: this would be very nice if the same
spotify helper

"C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\Plugins\SpotifyProtocolHandler\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread\spotifyd.exe"

could be called / run multiple times with different users at the same
time - because I want to listen to multiple Spotify streams (on
un-compatible players like Duet or Boom) at the same time...

Can anyone tell me if this is a valid approach? If yes, I guess it will
take me forever to produce a correct and working set of Perl coding for
2. and 3. Do you have any ideas how to best start?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Combine spotify family plugin with new Spotify & SPH plugins

2017-04-17 Thread johndoe_2009

I have tried to better understand how spotify playback is implemented
when running through compatible players (e.g. Radio, ...), and how the
SPH takes care of the un-compatible players (e.g. Transporter, Boom,
Duet, ...).

First of all, if you are lucky and only have Spotify compatbible players
(meaning: spotify playback is enabled by the firmware of thes players),
you can setup your spotify family accounts:

22517

...and attach them to each individual player on mysqueezebox.com - which
is already great:

22519

Now, each (compatible) player is running Spotify with its respective
account that has been maintained - you have full Spotify Family
support.

For the un-compatible players, SPH checks before each playback and
determines what to do. In case of a compabible player canDirectStream
(111), it lets the standard Spotify plugin take over:

(taken from server.log)

Plugins::SpotifyProtocolHandler::ProtocolHandler::canDirectStream (111)
Playing via Slim::Plugin::SpotifyLogi::ProtocolHandler:

While scanning through the forums, this probable could be achieved with
multiple LMS instances pointing to the same (shared) local music folders
- obviously not the easiest and most straightforward approach...

It would be just great to support multiple Spotify users directly in one
LMS/one mysb.com account...Any ideas how to achieve that?

Is there a way to use multiple Spotify Family accounts together with the
official Logitech Spotify App (with Spotify Protokoll Handler)?

Obviously there is the Spotify Family Plugin (1-5) from RichieZed, but
this cannot be combined with the Logitech Spotify App and only offers a
very limited set of navigation options etc. for Spotify (as Triode's
original plugin).

Having a multiple spotify accounts support together in the Logitech
Spotify App would be great...Any chance for that?
