I have had a long standing problem with Radio Scotland on iplayer which doesn't seem to occur with any other station. For months programmes have played for 15 minutes then jumped back to the start. Thanks jezbo. I am a few days into a months free trial and I am very impressed with how much easier this package has made accessing my large music collection. Also looks great. Only have one reservation. Perhaps I want to much and I understand the reluctance to duplicate what is already well covered in other packages but it very frustrating that changes to muso music database are not written to metadata. This means that any changes I make I also need to make via anoter route eg. Everything about this plug-in is superb, just one minor frustration. Have just invested in a controller to go with my boom. I want to use this to provide an alternative source for playing either with headphones or via aux socket through a pace DAB radio. This works perfectly with music stored on the PC and with BBCiplayer but not with Spotify plug-in. I have seen a passing mention of this earlier in the thread. Is there an insurmountable technical reason why Spotify doesn't play on controller? Thanks Triode. This plugin is what we Spotify users have been waiting for. It worked like a charm first time (which for me and the Squeezebox is a novelty. The only slight glitch in the process was getting your plugins into the repository. As noted before the address in the first posting has become corrupted and it took me an age to find the correct one further on in the thread. Is there any way of showing correct version more prominently to save others the frustration. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Getting a genuine random selection of songs
I have a very large and diverse music collection and would like to be able to get a wide variety of tracks in play lists. I am using Trakstat and Dynamic playlists and find that the same artists and songs are being played over again and others totally ignored. I would say that maybe 10 artists are played regularly and if you look at albums it is usually the same one or two tracks. Anyone any tips on how to get a wider selection without setting up play lists manually? Also can the time setting for not recently played be adjusted? I am sure I have read that this is possible in the Wiki but can't find the details again. Among the various strange and erratic behaviour since downloading 7.4 I also have an odd pattern of performance . At present I can only play local radio (including Radio Surrey). Main BBC stations go to straight to play URL - no programme menu and then do nothing. World service and Radio Wales give a menu but links don't work. I can also play live Ok. I am in the UK. Error log seems to suggest to me that the location no longer exists so restore is not possible. Hi Earland Thanks for responding to my post. The only thing that may unusual is that I use Google Chrome as my browser. Other possible factors are that I use windows XP and AVG for viruse protection. I was not even aware of skins so assume mine is the default. I am also having problems with restore (although no progress bar). I have located daily backups of trakstat data. These look OK in text editor. When attempting to restore from backup file I get egg timer for a while, then Oops this link appears to be broken I am using Google Chrome as browser by the way. I am using waveinput on a desk top running XP and with onboard Via Technologies soundcard. Waveinput seems to be installed fine and appears in Settings/plugin and on menus. When playing Spotify or others the sound is barely audible from Squeezebox boom even at 100% vol. The control panel sound settings look correct as described by others on this thread. Stereo mix checked for recording etc. Can record sound from Spotify fine using Audacity. Any one any suggestions.
