Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Community Firmware for Squeezebox Radio/Touch/Controller and LMS 8

2021-06-05 Thread nowork

Hi,

Thanks for making "community firmware" and the plugin to auto download.
Great news for the continued life of squeezebox.

Firmware does not download on my squeezebox server.

I am having the same problem as Rheinländer post #373
https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?113479-Announce-Community-Firmware-for-Squeezebox-Radio-Touch-Controller-and-LMS-8&p=1018457&viewfull=1#post1018457

My Logitech Media Server Log File on raspberry pi max2play:

On my QNAP NAS running LMS; Firmware downloads and installs on my duet
controllers, radio and touch.

On the same network and same switch, on raspberry pi running LMS get the
"Connect timed out: Bad file descriptor" error messages listed above.

Any suggestions?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: The Synchronizer 0.7

2009-08-28 Thread nowork

Hi,

I use and enjoy The Synchronizer Plugin everyday.

I have a few suggestions:
1) Timed Sync Sets - Sync some players for a fixed and repeatable
time.
I want my wakeup alarm to be on a few players and synchronized in the
morning when I wander around the house. At night I want the players to
be fully independent and playing different music for different people in
the house.

2) Power on Players, to be sticky to individual Sync Sets and
individual players.
On some Sync Sets, I want all the players to be all powered. On some
Sync Sets, I just want the players already on, and playing to be
syncronized.

Yes, all this can be done manually, however, I think these additional
features would enhance the already useful "Synchronizer."

Thanks

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] SoftSqueeze headless with squeezecenter problems

2009-05-07 Thread nowork

Hi,

I vote for a non GUI version of SoftSqueeze, or at least being able to
invoke SoftSqueeze without a GUI that runs continuously with no
problems.

I too am running a minimal Fedora linux installation without X
installed (booting from a 8Gig Compact Flash Card). I don't want the
overhead of a GUI, and I hope this will be a set-and-forget box.

I'm happy to move from SqueezeSlave to SoftSqueeze on this box if
SoftSqueeze can solve the chipmunk problem, and run non GUI
as-a-service.

Thanks for your help.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] SoftSqueeze headless with squeezecenter problems

2009-05-06 Thread nowork

Hi,

Fedora 10
Squeezecenter Version: 7.3.3 - 26407 @ Tue May 5 03:07:03 PDT 2009
squeezeslave-0.8.33-2.i386
MSI Atom 330 Motherboard, Realtek ALC858 audio(40Watts total power)

Squeezeslave plays ripped CDs and high bitrate internet radio like IO
Radio at 128KBPS, OK.

SqueezeSlave, Chipmunks with National Public Radio (NPR) on WBUR 24kbps
CBR or 32kbps CBR. The words are intelligible, but the pitch is
chipmunk.

SoftSqueeze plays NPR fine on the same machine. However I don't know
how to make SoftSqueeze "run as a service."

I want to run this box headless and control the onboard audio via
SqueezeCenter/the Web. Except for chipmunks, squeezeslave seems great.

Thanks

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] SoftSqueeze headless with squeezecenter problems

2009-05-05 Thread nowork

Hi,

I have the same problem. I can't listen to NPR radio with
squeezeslave, because it sounds like "chipmunks." I tried softsqueeze
and could play NPR but was tied to the local monitor/gui.

Maybe as more of these cheap/energy efficient boxes get
linux/squeezecenter installations by endusers, we can get enough
interest to have squeezeslave be updated to work with more bitrates?
