Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver
I finally got mine working with the manual patch. Here is what I did. For Win 7: 1. Stop Squeezebox Server 2. Open cmd window as Administrator 3. cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Squeezebox\server\Plugins\SuperDateTime\lib 4. ren Plugins-SuperDateTime-Plugin.par Plugins-SuperDateTime-Plugin.zip 5. Open Plugins-SuperDateTime-Plugin.zip with WinZip or other archive tool (I use WinRAR). 6. Within the zip file, drill down to \lib\Plugins\SuperDateTime 7. Open Plugin.pm with a text editor (preferably something that gives you line numbers such as NotePad ++). You can edit the file while it is still in the archive so no need to extract. 8. Edit the lines give in earlier threads in line 3067 change "twc-col-2" to "twc-col-2 " in line 3155 change "twc-col-3" to "twc-col-3 " in line 3242 change "twc-col-4" to "twc-col-4 " in line 3468 change "twc-col-1" to "twc-col-1 twc-line-nar " 9. Keep the extra space after 'twc-line-nar' in line 3468. 10. Save the file and exit the editor. WinRAR asked me if I wanted to update the archive. I said Yes. 11. If you extracted the file to make edits, be sure to re-add the file to the archive. 12. Back at the cmd window, ren Plugins-SuperDateTime-Plugin.zip Plugins-SuperDateTime-Plugin.par 13. Start Squeezebox. Mine is working again --- at least until weather.com changes their website. A minor nuisance for something I've come to depend on. Good luck! -- starfleetcommand starfleetcommand's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=20604 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=14327 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

On my Win 7, according to the Squeezebox server logs, the PAR cache files are located in C:\Windows\Temp\par-SYSTEM. I deleted the contents of the directory while SBS wasn't running. Then I modified my par file and started up SBS. I still see in the log "Can't call method "as_text" and the display never updates no weather, no temp, nothing but the date and time. In an earlier thread, someone mentioned the par should be located in \ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\Plu gins\SuperDateTime\lib for Win 7 but the contents of that directory for me are empty. I could only find the par file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Squeezebox\server\Plugins\SuperDateTime\lib. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Super Date Time Stopped Updating
Removed the plugin prefs and restarted the server. New prefs got created and SDT worked again but hated the thought of re-entering all of the customized settings. So I restored the prefs file from a backup same issue. That led me to believe it was something with Weather.com. So I tried using another zip code. Still not updating. So then I went to wunderground to locate the wunderground weather station ID nearest me. Removed the zip code and plugged in the wunderground ID and viola! I can't live without this plugin. I think I found a bug in this plugin. The other day I was playing music and the power went out briefly (maybe 5 minutes). My SqueeezeCenter server is on UPS so it didn't lose power but the SB did. When power was restored, I started to play music on the SB again and noticed that the plugin no longer displayed correctly. For example: I have the plugin setup to rotate the top line of the display from Artist, Album, Track #, Genre, and Bitrate. Then I have the bottom line to always show the Track Title along with the playtime remaining in the right. But when power was restored and resumed playing music, I noticed the time remaining never started counting down and the artist displayed was not the artist of the album playing. The title of the track being played was correct, however. Prior to the power loss, the displays were correct. I found if I restart the SqueezeCenter service then all is normal again. Has anyone else encountered this? I could write a script to restart the SqueezeCenter service periodically but -- starfleetcommand starfleetcommand's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=20604 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=55240 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
