Thing about column sorting - would you expect it to alter the play order
on slimserver, or just the display of the playlist ? Guess the latter, then
have a button to commit the displayed order or something ?

I do have a few suggestions: Would it be possible for the currently

 playing track is always displayed?

It should be doing that already.. Actually, looking at it, if something's
selected, then it turns off the 'auto scroll' code as the user's probably
doing something elsewhere.. Is this what you're seeing ? Maybe it
should auto-deselect after a time delay or something ?

Would it be possible to collapse or dock the playlist somehow...
leaving only the album cover, track details, and controls? I realise
that I can do this manually by playing with the window size

Yeah, I'm going to be adding some more features like docking the
library over the playlist shortly.. It'll need an un-dock button, so
adding minimise and maximise buttons makes sense too.. The
minimise would shrink the playlist down..

when the playlist is totally collapsed, the play controls dissapear
 (rendering bug?).

If you resize the window to the smallest it can be, the play controls
vanish - this is kind of intentional, although probably not much use
anymore.

Would it be possible to add more contextual commands to the right click
when on a track. Currently Refresh/Remove/Manage are displayed. How
about track info (basically the same info provided by the SS web UI
when a title is clicked) and play-hold plugin commands (for instance
to seed MusicIP Mixer). Does this make sense.

Yup.. I'll see what I can squeeze out of the CLI - MusicIP could be a
problem.. I guess the popcorn button could be scripted to do this ?

Sorry... one more. How about being able to view and =edit= ratings via
 the toast pop up?

Yup, makes sense..

I best get typing ! :-)

Yeah, shouldnt be a problem, although the popping up mode might be more
tricky as windows will think the pointer's moved off the tray icon as the window
flies past.. I'll see what I can do though..

I also find that if I click on the progress bar, the song changes,
rather than advancing in the same song. Is this a known bug? I use
Windows XP. I'll do some more checking if need be.

Which player are you using ? I've noticed this with SoftSqueeze
sometimes.. Otherwise, anything special about the file being played ?
cue-sheet, mpc or anything ?

Yeah.. Actually, i think it would make sense for the enter-key option to control
both the enter-key and double-clicks ?

Also, moose is still definitely stealing focus with its popup toast
thingy...I'm always writing emails to moose by accident!

Argh, people keep telling me this and I can't repeat the problem at all on
any of the machines I've tried moose on.. :-(

I'm presuming you're on XP, typing away in outlook and the focus is stolen
the second the toast appears ? Does it come back afterwards, or is that it
for outlook ?

Well, yeah, Im hoping to one day.. But.. Due to work and stuff I dont really
get much time to spend on it, and if I made it OS I guess im worried that
the little time I did have would be spent managing and things rather than
the fun things like programming.. I dunno though.. Be nice to have some
more hands, particularly with making it run under mono and stuff.. Maybe
if SD helped out a bit or something it would speed things along..

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Moose 0.54

2007-02-05 Thread Dr Lovegrove
Mainly visual tidy-ups, speed-ups and bug-fixes that I've been meaning
to do for a while:

Options - Added background colour customisation (black complex-mode is
interesting)
Options - Split the media keys support into control and volume options
Options - Altered the way it talks to mysql so in theory it doesnt
need the connector dlls anymore
Options - New 'Auto Size Height' option in the text tab which attempts
to fit the nowplaying text nicely into the rectangle
Options - Removed live MySql option as it's no longer supported
Toast - Now used for the popup on the tray icon
Toast - Background now matches now playing window
Toast - Text now drawn with same code as now playing window
Toast - New 'instant' display mode
Now playing - Fixed the auto-size column widths button so it does a better job
Now playing - Fixed the listview play icon to be white (why does
vs2005 keep making it black ?)
Now playing - Removed transparency from controls and optimised redraw a bit
Now playing - Recoded the splitter bar dragging code to stop it
flickering above it's minimum point
Now playing - Load playlist now redirects to the tree library, as the
tree library lists live playlists rather than the load playlist window
which doesnt
Now playing - Removed the code which opened the 'original' library
window as an option
Library - Removed the two redundant tabs to clean things up a bit
Library - Fixed the 'no moo file' error loop problem
Tree - fix for dynamic playlist's multiple 'no dynamic playlist' problem
Tree - added some slim bugs db links to allow voting for features
Cover chooser - a few quick menu fixes for layout mode (still w.i.p.)

Enjoy,
